James W. Keough, of Boston, vice-president at Daniel A. Mullin Associates, died at home July 24, 2019.

Beloved son of the late James A. and Louise (Tanner) Keough. Brother of Louise D. Thompson of Arlington, Alice Melville and her husband Donald of Carver, Patricia Keough of Readville, Robert Keough and his wife Katherine of Dorchester, Mary Keough of Readville and the late Edward Keough. Jim is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews, many grandnieces and grandnephews and close friends Daniel A. Mullin, Lyle Howland, Florence Mackie and Suzanne Iannella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Cecilia Church, 18 Belvidere Street, Boston, Wednesday August 7 at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Tuesday August 6 from 5-8 PM.

Annette Marie (Kelliher) Dragon passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at the age of 83.  Loved by her family and friends for her kind, generous spirit and genuine love for others, Annette’s death is regarded as a blessing, releasing her from the massive stroke she suffered. 

Annette was born on February 23, 1936, in Boston, the daughter of Frederick and Jeannette Kelliher.  A life-long resident of Milton, where she attended St. Agatha’s School, Mount Saint Joseph Academy and Mount Ida Junior College.  She married the love of her life, Edmond Dragon, in October 1960, and so began their 40-year journey together.  A devoted wife and mother, she created warm and welcoming homes in Milton and Wellfleet, the latter a home near the Cape beaches where she loved relaxing with family and friends and enjoying the beauty and serenity of the Cape.  She lived her life peacefully, spiritually and surrounded by love.

Annette leaves her four children, Michele Livingston and her husband David of Wellesley, MA, Suzanne Waters and her husband Patrick of Cohasset, MA, Elise Potter and her husband John of Chepachet, RI, and Edmond Dragon, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Milton, MA; her sister and best friend Mary Louise Isaac of Belmont, MA; many nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild and 2 step-great grandchildren who all dearly loved her; and many precious friends.  She was predeceased by her siblings: Frederick Kelliher, Jr., Jeanne Johnson, and Celine Gallagher.  The family wishes to thank Mom’s helper and friend Heather Finnerty who brought her tremendous joy.

Randall “Randy” Loud, 82, of Milton, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 22 , 2019 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Randy was born and raised in Milton where he graduated from Milton High School in 1956.  Randy was married to the love of his life Sandra (Wildes) Loud for 45 years.
 
In 1961, he was drafted into the Army where he was an artillery mechanic, battery recorder as well as a training NCO. Randy owned Berry & Loud Co. in Quincy since 1981. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Wollaston Golf Club for many years.
 
Randy is survived by his three children, Mark Loud and his wife JoAnn of Scituate, Christopher Loud of Milton and Kristie and her husband Stephen Celorier of Mashpee. He was a devoted grandfather of Alyssa, Kaelyn, Brianna, John and Matthew as well as other family and friends.
 
Randy is preceded in death by his wife Sandra Wildes Loud, his parents Earl and S. Margaret Loud and his sister Andrea Collins.
 
Visiting hours will begin at 5:00pm Tuesday, July 30th in Dolan Funeral Home 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE and conclude with a Funeral Home Service at 7:00pm. A private burial will take place in Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk, Maine.

Marie Josee J. Ginot, of Roslindale formerly of Haiti passed away on July 17, 2019.  Beloved daughter of Chenet Ginot and Sylvia Orelien of Haiti.  Loving mother of Vanessa Elysse of Roslindale.  Sister of Edgard Gineau of Everett, Ythanette Philemont of Georgia, Josnel Ginot of Everett, Stevenson Juneau, Marie Ange Juneau, Roselyne Cadet and Shamaina Gineau all of Haiti.  Cherished grandma of Amarha Louis.

Marie was born in Croix DesBouquet, Haiti.  She had only been in the United States for a year before her passing. Marie was a very faithful person who dedicated much of her time to her prayers.  She also loved to cook and spend time with her family, especially her daughter and granddaughter.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Friday July 26, 2019 from 6:00PM-9:00PM in the Dolan funeral home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester Lower Mills.  A funeral service will he held on Saturday July 27, 2019 at 9am in The Voice of the Gospel Tabernacle Church, 47-49 Edgewater Drive, Mattapan.  Interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Boston. 

Joseph P. Keohan, Sr, 81, of Norwood passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019.

Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester he was a graduate of the Boston Public Schools. Worked as an Assistant Clerk Magistrate in Suffolk Superior Court for 41 years.

Joseph leaves behind his six children, fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and his best friend Ron McKinley. Beloved son of the late Archie D. and Mary E, (Fitzgerald) Keohan. Loving brother of Barbara A. Hannigan and her husband Thomas F., Archie D. Keohan and the late Edward T. Keohan.

A Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 25th from 10:00am to 12:30pm at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., EAST MILTON SQUARE; followed by a Funeral Home Service. Interment Milton Cemetery. Family and friends invited.

James W. “Jim” Beyer, age 42, of Mesa, Arizona and formerly of Milton, passed away unexpectedly in Arizona on July 10, 2019.

James was the father of Justin, Ryan and Haley Brown of Orlando, Florida; son of Edmund B. Beyer and the late Joan B. Beyer of Milton; brother of Charles W. Beyer and his wife Tanya of Washingtonville, New York; and brother of Andrew B. Beyer and his partner Jeffrey Bukowski of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and uncle to Connor and Kylie Beyer. He leaves behind many friends. 

James was a graduate of Milton High School, class of 1996, where he was a pitcher on the baseball team for 4 years.  He worked for many years in sales in the automobile business.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24th from 9:30am to 11:00am at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., EAST MILTON SQUARE; followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00am at Dolan Funeral Home

Frances L. (Keough) Croke, of Milton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

Born on March 21, 1919 to her loving parents Frederick and Elizabeth (Morgan) Keough. Frances grew up in Roxbury, attended Roxbury Schools. In November of 1948 she married John Croke. Their marriage lasted a lifetime.

Frances enjoyed shopping, taking classes to educate herself at Harvard University and being with the love of her life, John.

Beloved wife of the late John L. Croke. Loving daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth (Morgan) Keough. Sister of the late James and Thomas Keough. Frances is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews whom she cherished.

A graveside ceremony will be celebrated in Milton Cemetery, 211 Centre Street, Milton, Tuesday, July 16 at 12:30 PM. Relatives and friends invited.

John J. “Jim” Landers Jr., of Milton, MA, a retired award-winning news photographer and licensed private detective, died Saturday, July 13, 2019, following brief illness. He was 82.

Born in Boston and raised in East Milton, he was the son of the late John J. Landers Sr., a former Boston Globe news photographer, and Gertrude V. (Gregory) Landers.

He was a Boston College High School graduate, class of 1954. He earned the Man of the Year Award in 1979 by the Boston College High School Alumni Association during the silver anniversary of the Class of 1954.

In 1960, he married Ann K. (Horgan) Landers and they briefly resided in Natick before returning to Milton.

In 1954-55, he attended Northeastern University while working as a wire photo assistant at the Associated Press’ Boston bureau. He then was an editorial assistant at the Boston Traveler before being hired as a staff photographer by the Traveler in 1955. In 1967 he joined the staff of the Boston Record American, and then in 1972 he became a staff photographer for the Boston Herald American. He was promoted from staff photographer to picture editor. Then in 1982, when Rupert Murdock purchased the newspaper in its 11^th hour, the paper was rebranded as the Boston Herald and he retained his employment. He retired from the Herald in 2005 after 50 years in the news business as a senior picture editor.

Mr. Landers received numerous professional awards in the field of photography, to include News Photographer of the Year in 1968 awarded by the Boston Press Club and the 1978 Pulitzer Prize as a member of the Boston Herald American team photography coverage of the Blizzard of 1978. He also received the International Fire Fighters Association National Citation in 1972 for coverage of the Hotel Vendome collapse which killed nine Boston Firefighters who where checking hot spots following a fire there the day before. Additionally, he had a photo published in Time magazine of a first responder performing CPR on a toddler while carrying the child to safety.

Living a dual professional life, Mr. Landers worked in the news industry at night, while running his business as a private detective during the day. Mr. Landers was a partner with Landers, Hannon and Burnett in Neponset Circle in Boston for years, before leaving and launching Landers Service Company in Milton in the mid-1970s.

Mr. Landers was an avid tennis player for many years, having played at the former Blue Hills Tennis Club and at the Weymouth Club. He was also a runner, having worn out several treadmills in his basement.

Mr. Landers served in the US Coast Guard Reserve in the Full Mobilization Intelligence Group from 1956- 1962.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by his children: Suzanne Landers Zavatsky and her husband S.J. of Milton, John Landers and his wife Kathleen of Hyde Park, and Katherine Landers Keyes and her husband James of Milton. He is also survived by the grandchildren he adored: Michelle Landers of Quincy, Adrah Landers of Hyde Park, Aidan Keyes and Alexandra Zavatsky, both of Milton. He was predeceased in death by his sister Carole Landers Leet, and brothers Thomas E. Landers (retired Boston Globe news photographer) and Philip K. Landers.

Leslie A. McLean, 93, of Boston, passed away July 5, 2019 with his loving family by his side.

Born in 1926 in Manchester Jamaica, West Indies to Clarence and Gladys “Susan” (Hutchinson) McLean.  Always an organized man, Leslie’s organization was certainly reflected in how he kept his home, his car and even his bills.  He enjoyed walks in the morning and evenings and was an avid Red Sox fan.  He never missed a game on TV and was excited to see them win the World Series last October.

Devoted husband of the late Elodia (Edwards) McLean.  Loving father of Kenneth McLean and his wife Daphne of NJ and Leslie McLean, Jr., of Mattapan.  Devoted grandfather of Melissa McLean Campbell of NJ and great grandfather to Jaylen and Malaya Campbell.  Brother of Joyce Richards, Amy (Wellington) McLean, Susalin Durham, Patsy McLean, Lester McLean, Roy McLean, Clarence McLean, Joslin McLean, Joseph McLean and Hector McLean.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 525 River Street, Mattapan, Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 10:00 am.  Relatives and friends kindly invited.  A visiting hour will be held at the church immediately following the service from 9 – 10 AM.  Interment Forest Hills Cemetery.

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and physician. Husband to Sheila (Kelley) Doyle of Hingham, having just celebrated 50 years of marriage last summer. Father to Kelley Doyle Whalen of Hingham, MA and Geoffrey Brian Doyle of Rye, NY. Devoted grandfather to Peyton, Lila and Gus Belsher and Caroline, Patrick, Graham and Garrett Doyle. Supportive father-in-law to Walter Whalen and Kristen (Hogan) Doyle and welcoming step grandparent to Payton and Hannah Whalen. Son of Tom and Leah Doyle (both deceased), brother of Tom Doyle (deceased), Ken Doyle of Hingham, and Anne Maciel of Haverhill, MA. Fun and inspirational uncle to many nieces and nephews, many through his marriage to Sheila. And although he was terribly allergic to dogs, he was a great source of love and affection to “granddog”, Oscar the sheepadoodle.

Gerry Doyle grew up in Watertown, MA, a motivated and charismatic student-athlete who was president of his class at Watertown High School, Class of 1960, and a track & field state champion in hurdles and pole vault. His achievements in the classroom and on the track fielded opportunities, and he became the first member of his family to go to college. Gerry declined an appointment to Annapolis from then Senator John F. Kennedy to attend Harvard College. Gerry enjoyed four fun years at Harvard. He commuted by bicycle from his parents’ home in Watertown his sophomore year to save money and paid for his tuition at times through work as a life guard and vacuum cleaner salesman. He graduated a member of the Class of 1964 and cultivated friendships there that lasted a lifetime. At Harvard Gerry committed himself to becoming a doctor, although it seemed to him an impossible dream at the time. Medicine did turn out to be his true calling. After graduating from Albany Medical College in 1969, Gerry did his internship and residency in internal medicine at Boston City Hospital, starting his training on July 1, 1969 with literal and figurative fireworks assigned to the emergency room overnight on the 4th of July holiday. Gerry also completed a fellowship in cardiology at Roxbury VA Hospital. He worked around the clock in the early years of his career in medicine, moonlighting extra shifts to support his family and powering through his days with a level of enthusiasm and exhaustion that resulted in his falling asleep standing up at social gatherings. Early dedication resulted in his growing a giant—truly inconceivably large—medicine practice as an internist. This past spring, Gerry celebrated his 45th anniversary at Massachusetts General Hospital.

It is hard to imagine how Gerry managed to find time for anyone other than his patients, but he went above and beyond for everyone he loved and anyone who asked him for help. Gerry was an incredible husband, father and friend. One hobby was photography, and he spent forty years chronicling moments, milestones and celebrations behind the lens of his camera and video camera. He created hundreds of wedding videos set to music for family and friends. In this hobby he found another way to put everyone one else before himself. He was athletic and swam miles at the YMCA weekly, loved golf, and ran more than ten marathons earlier in life. Thanks to a generous friend who was like a brother to him, Gerry checked off certain bucket list items including attending a few Super Bowls—he loved the Patriots—and playing a round at Augusta. Gerry was a member of Hingham Yacht Club since 1982 and loved to spend time there at social gatherings and watching spectacular sunsets. In recent years he had discovered Open Yale Courses, a project of Yale University which offers undergraduate classes online. Gerry liked to joke with his wife that he was in his junior year at his alma mater’s arch rival.

Gerry’s greatest joy late in his life had been thoroughly delighting in his grandchildren, somehow showing up for countless track meets and football, lacrosse, and soccer games. He loved spending quality time with them and took great pride in their achievements and adventures. He took thousands of photos not only of his grandchildren at play but of their teammates as well and would work through the night creating video montages of the photos set to his favorite sports anthems, the Chariots of Fire and Rocky theme songs.

He was one of a kind—incredibly perceptive, empathetic, and non-judgmental. He was a humanitarian and a healer. Gerry was at his best when times were at their worst, always lightening the burdens of others. He had an insatiable intellectual curiosity and genius as a diagnostician, discovering what ailed a person when no one else could. No one had any doubt that Gerry would practice medicine until the day he died. His sudden drowning death during a rare tropical vacation surrounded by beauty is only the gateway to his next phase, a retirement he never would have taken. One of the greatest difficulties he faced through his life as a doctor was easing the passage of many close friends who went before him, because the vast majority of Gerry’s friends were his patients. It gives his family great comfort to know he is with those friends now. He’ll continue to cheer on his seven grandchildren, lift them up when needed, and find joy in what bright chapters lie ahead for them.
