of Randolph, died at home surrounded by her family on January 30, 2009.

Beloved wife of the late Louis Spero. Devoted mother of Loretta and her husband Eric Brochu of Bourne and Patricia and her husband Charles Macy of East Bridgewater. Grandmother of Rachael, Charlie, Tony and Kasey. Sister of George Tsolias of Jamaica Plain and the late Olga Kolitsis, Anthony and Kosta Tsolias and Krisa Newton. Also survived by nephews and nieces.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, 410 West Broadway, South Boston, Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited.

Robert Sinkler

64, of Dorchester, died at his home in Dorchester after an illness on January 28, 2009.

Born in Eastover, South Carolina, Mr. Sinkler worked as a bus driver for the City of Boston.

Loving father of Tina Sinkler of Mattapan, Tamara Sinkler of Dorchester, Tanya Ram of Hyde Park, Robert C. Sinkler of So. Boston, and Taylor J. Sinkler of Hyde Park. Robert is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St. DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 11:00AM. Visiting hours prior to the service, 9-11AM. Burial will follow the service in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Roslindale.

Mary A. (Grenham) Coleman

of Holbrook, died Tuesday January 27, at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton, after a short illness.

Born and raised in Mission Hill, she was a graduate of Mission Grammar and High Schools. She was a member of many clubs and served as past president of the Boston Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and member of the 1545 Club at Mission Church.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Coleman (Ret. BFD). Loving mother of Terry Mason of Bridgewater, Joseph Coleman and Ann Coleman, both of Holbrook, Karen Najjar of Quincy, Susan Arancio and Denise Connolly, both of Abington. Grandmother of Brittany, Chelsea, Emily, Ashley, Patrick, Danielle, Christopher and Matthew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Mission Church, 1545 Tremont Street, Roxbury, Friday January 30 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours omitted. Interment Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

George Edward Driscoll, Sr.

96, of Quincy, formerly of Milton, died on January 27, 2009 at Milton Hospital.

Born in Boston, George graduated from Dorchester High School for Boys and Burdett Business School of Boston. George owned and operated the Driscoll Hardware Store in Codman Square, and he was a member of the Codman Square Merchants Association, the Knights of Columbus and the Lions Club, all located in Dorchester.

In later years, George opened Driscoll Paint and Hardware in Quincy and also worked as a sales representative at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

George was a resident of Milton for many years and he was active in the Holy Name Society at Saint Agatha’s Church.

Beloved husband of the late Marguerite Pauline “Pat” (Collins) Driscoll. Loving father of George E. Driscoll, Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Marshfield, Kathleen M. Driscoll of Irvine, CA, Patricia A. Defina and her husband Jack of Waltham, Stephen M. Driscoll and his wife Julie of Milton and the late John Anthony Driscoll. Brother of the late John J. Driscoll, Jr., Frank Driscoll, Sister Mary Clementia, CSJ, and Arthur J. Driscoll. George is survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

J. Joseph Donovan

of Milton, age 95, died at his home surrounded by his family on January 25, 2009.

Loving husband of 67 years of Bernice E. (Hobbs) Donovan, he is also survived by one daughter, Judith A. Donovan McCurdy of Attleboro and one son, John J. Donovan, Jr. of Hanover, NH. He is the cherished grandfather of Ross, Douglas, Stephen, and Jonathan McCurdy and Eamonn and Ronan Donovan. Joe is also survived by six great grandchildren.

Joe was a successful and respected home remodeling contractor. He founded and managed Quinton Engineering in Milton for over 30 years.

Prior to WWII, he was a milkman in Boston where he developed a life-long love of horses. During the war he worked as an electrical foreman at the Fore River shipyard in Hingham and Dorchester building and repairing destroyer escorts and LST’s.

After the war he became a successful salesman for John Hancock and World Book Encyclopedia.

In 1953 he moved with his family to Milton, where he became an active member of the community. He received the Man of the Year Award from the Milton Town Club, was a member and past president of the Milton Art Association, and served as Chairman and Trustee of the Milton Cemetery until the time of his death.

He was an active parishioner of Saint Elizabeth Church where he taught CCD, was a lay reader and member of the Choir. He was an avid reader of history and international relations, and enjoyed traveling to destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth Church, 350 Reedsdale Road, Milton, Saturday January 31 at 10AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Carl A. Larson Sr.

an Army veteran of World War II, died Thursday January 22 at Quincy Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He graduated from Dorchester High School for Boys and Bentley College and attended the University of New Hampshire prior to entering the Army. He was decorated with the Silver Star and Bronze Star medals and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge for gallantry in action in Germany, crossing the Rhine, Roer and Elbe Rivers.

Mr. Larson was a member of Rural Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Quincy; was Past Chief of Stenkill Lodge Independent Order of Vikings in Braintree and was named Viking of the Year in 1992. He was president and founder of the Viking Voices at the South Shore Viking Association, and was active in many Scandanavian programs. Also, he was a member of the Vasa Order of America. Carl was a member of the Thomas J. Roberts Post #78 and the 102nd Infantry Division veterans. He was a longtime member of Christ Church, Quincy where he sang in the choir and was on the Vestry.

A resident of North Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, he is the husband of Dorothy (Sivertsen) Larson, father of Carl A. Larson Jr. of North Quincy and Stephen R. Larson of Mt. Desert Island, Maine. Grandfather of five grandsons and one granddaughter. He was the twin brother of the late Donald W. Larson of Milton.

Funeral service Monday January 26 in Christ Church, 12 Quincy Avenue, Quincy at 11:00 AM. There are no visiting hours. Interment Milton Cemetery.

Donald F. Hamilton

40, of Milton, died on January 20, 2009.

Born in Boston, Donald was a lifelong resident of Milton. He graduated from Milton High School in 1986 and attended Massasoit Community College.

Donald worked at Wollaston Golf Club in Milton for several years and then he became a Project Manager for a flooring Company in Boston.

Donald was an avid pool player and he was also an avid fan of the Boston Bruins.

Beloved son of Connie (Zine) Hamilton of Milton and the late Donald G. Hamilton. Brother of Leah Hamilton-Safranek of Stoughton. Boyfriend of Tammy Woodbury of Abington. Also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Margaret A. Irvine

a retired clerk, died Saturday January 10 at Radius Specialty Hospital, Quincy, after a long illness. She was 56 years old.

Born in Quincy and raised in Dorchester, she worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over thirty years in the Hurley Building, Boston.

Beloved daughter of the late Richard W. and Ruth M. (Kelliher) Irvine. Sister of RichardW. Irvine of Dorchester. Aunt of Lisa and her husband Patrick Geary and great- aunt of Erin Geary, all of Dorchester.

Rose M. (Kelliher) Tobin

82, of Milton, died on January 17, 2009 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Beloved wife of the late Patrick F. Tobin, loving mother of Maureen T. O’Brien and her husband John of Braintree, Michael F. Tobin (M.S.P.,Ret) and his companion Margaret Cronin of Lowell, Kevin M. Tobin and his wife Catherine of Leominster, John F. Tobin and his wife Joyce of Milton, Kathleen A. Tobin and Eileen M. Tobin of Milton, Sheila E. Doucette of Quincy, Deirdre A. Carey and her husband Douglas of Upper St. Claire, PA, and Patrick J. Tobin and his wife Donna of Milton. Rose will be deeply missed by her seventeen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Rose was predeceased by her siblings, the Reverend Arthur J. Kelliher, John F. Kelliher, Robert T. Kelliher, Joseph M. Kelliher, and Mary P. Rooney.

A devoted caregiver, Rose raised her five siblings before raising her own family and then running a family daycare program. She enjoyed having her family around her and cooked large Sunday dinners for her extended family for many years. Until the onset of her disease, she was very active in many areas. She was the president of St. Mary of the Hills Guild and St. Mary’s Sodality. She also chaired numerous committees including the Parish Activities Committee, and she made many contributions to the annual Christmas Bazaar. For Milton Meals-On-Wheels, she was a longtime volunteer as well as a Member of the Board of Directors. She also was involved in local politics, supporting her candidates enthusiastically.
