James F. Bono

James F. Bono, 88, of Milton, passed away at home on February 23, 2018.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Grace (Kiley) Flynn-Bono, his son James F. Bono, Jr., and his wife Laurie, step son John Flynn and his wife Kathy, step daughter Paula Char and her husband Daniel, step daughter Deborah, his grandchildren: Ryan Flynn, Deanna Bono, Michael Char, Steven Char, Christine Char, Michael Williams, and his great grandchildren: Emma and Grace Flynn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his first wife, Josephine (Arcana) Bono. He lived with his parents, the late Thomas and Margaret Bono in Dorchester, MA and was raised with his sister Margaret Oden of Hingham, Thomas Bono of Easton, and the late William Bono of Dorchester.

Jim served in the Navy in World War II and was stationed on a ship in Japan. He received an honorable discharge on 7/16/1948. He went to Northeastern University on the GI bill and received his Associates degree in drafting. He worked for several firms as a draftsman and retired from Sage Laboratories in 2001 after 41 years as a chief draftsman. Jim was an active member of several drafting groups during his career. He was a member of the Milton Hoosic Club and the Quincy Neighborhood Club. He was a board member of the Milton Friends of the Council on Aging and attended monthly luncheons of the “Originally From Dorchester” club up until recently.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth Church, 350 Reedsdale Raod, Milton, Monday, February 26 at 10:00am. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Sunday, 4:00-8:00PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.

Kettlie Laguerre

My mother Kettlie Laguerre, age 52, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2018 at 12:30 AM at Readville Street, Hyde Park, MA 02136.

She was born August 13, 1965, in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti to Marie Lucy Denise Registe and Roger Laguerre.  Finishing school in 1993, Kettlie married Jean Nicaisse Alexandre on July 27, 2000 in Haiti.  She worked as a CNA Caregiver at Highgate Manor and Ellis Nursing Home, providing medical care to elderlies.  Kettlie lived life with pleasure enjoying the smallest things offered, like a shopping ride to Allston Brighton while filled with laughter and excitement.  Spending time with her grandkids on regular basis and cooking meals that would never allow people to stop eating.

Kettlie’s positive ways always made an impact on her children and others.  She never said no to anyone, for any reason, she was always fashionable.  She spent money on people like there were no limits, because making a difference to her was the purpose.  Kettlie leaves behind 4 children: Junie, Medjine, Abdel and Nickensia, her husband, mother, 4 sisters, 7 brothers, 10 grandkids, dozens of niece’s and nephews, uncles, cousins and so many other people whose lives Kettlie touched during her presence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 24, at St. Angela’s Church, MATTAPAN,  pat 10 o’clock. Visiting Hours in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER, Friday, 4-8 pm. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.

Daniel R. Marc

Daniel R. Marcl of Dedham died on February 18, 2018.   Beloved father of Joel Marc and his wife Renide of Dedham, Faniola,  Piscale and Daniellle Marc all of Haiti.  Brother of Aline Marc of Montreal Canada, Jacqueline Marc of Malden, Gerald Marc of Florida and Wilfrd Marc of Montreal, Canada.  Grandfather of Heide, Maureen, Farah and  Rodly.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday March 3, 2018 at 10:00am in Saint Angela Church, Dorchester.  Visitation is prior from 9:00-10:00am.  Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Boston.

Italienne Pierre-Louis

Italienne (St. Paul) Pierre-Louis, of Dorchester, passed away February 14, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Amilcar Pierre-Louis. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mark’s Church, 1725 Dorchester Ave., Dorchester on Saturday, February 24 at 10AM. Visiting hours will be held at the Dolan & Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Ave., MILTON VILLAGE, on Friday from 6-8PM. Interment at Saint Michael Cemetery.

Gerardo Colon de Jesus

Gerardo Colón de Jesus, 67, of Dorchester, MA originally from San Lorenzo, PR, passed away after a long battle with cancer surrounded by his family on February 15, 2018.

Gerardo is survived by his partner of many years, Alejandrina Rivas Ortiz, daughter Maria Colón and her partner Ray Dimagiba, daughter Esther Colón, son Antonio Colón, son Gerardo Colón, and many loving grandchildren, and extended family. Gerardo was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all. Gerardo loved fixing things, talking politics and classic Spanish movies.

A special thank you to Dana Farber and the oncology team at Brigham & Woman in Boston for their loving care and support.

Funeral services for Gerardo will be at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Wednesday, February 21, 10-12 pm. He will be laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.

Doris L. Essex

Doris L. (Fennell) Essex, of Dedham, passed away on February 7, 2018.

Beloved wife of William J. Essex. Cherished mother of James and Denise Essex. Loving grandmother of Nikita, James, Kenneth, Kevin, and Tamara Essex. Great grandmother of Adeja, Richard, Quidar, Kevin, Kori, and Ayana Essex. Sister of Willa Mae Matthews and Jacqueline Williams.

Maria DaGraca Rodrigues

Maria (DoCanto) DaGraca Rodrigues, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

Beloved wife of the late Victor Rodrigues Tavares. Loving mother of Nicolau Tavares, Venceslau Tavares, Peter Rodrigues, Zita Scippa, and Vicky Rodrigues. Sister of Laurinda Alves, Ludovina Monteiro, Justiniano DoCanto, and  Licinio DoCanto. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two children Luisa Edwards and Marcos Tavares.

Burton Samuel Greenlaw

Burton Samuel Greenlaw of Milton 92 died at home on February 13, 2018.   He was the loving husband of the late Priscilla A. (Allen) Greenlaw.  He is survived by his daughter Linda Hamelin and her husband David of Middleboro and his son David Greenlaw of RI.  He is the grandfather of Christopher and Timothy Hamelin of Taunton and Carrie Hamelin of Middleboro. He is the beloved son of the late Leonard and Florence (Fossett) Greenlaw.

Burton grew up in Somerville and is a graduate of Somerville High School. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II and became a radio officer for City Service Oil transporting oil in a tanker traveling all over the world. He retired after 25 years to spend time with his family.  He became self-employed and worked various jobs before becoming a real estate broker working in the Quincy area. He was an active member of the Quincy & South Shore Board of Realtors.
Burton was an active member of Parkway United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He served on many boards and committees as wells as distributing tapes of the Sunday services to shut-ins.  He sang in the church choir and participated as a lay leader/speaker during worship service.  He also spent time on weekends with other members of the church participating in Saturday and Sundays Breads program in Boston where he served dinners to the homeless, He was a member of the United Methodist Mens and was an Honorary member of the United Methodist Womens.
He, along with his wife were key organizers in the relocation of the Milton Food Pantry to Parkway Church.  He devoted his time to picking up, organizing and distributing food items.  You could always find him every Saturday morning at the pantry.

He was involved in the community by being a member of MRE(Milton Resident for Elderly) board of directors for over 4 decades as well as being an active member of the Rabboni Masonic Lodge for over 60 years.
Besides his service to others, Burton enjoyed square dancing with his wife in the Spares for Squares group where he was president for 2 years as well as spending some of his summers at his family cottage in Round Pond Maine.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Parkway United Methodist Church, 158 Blue Hills Parkway, Milton Monday, February 19 at 11:00 AM.  Visiting Hours at the Dolan and Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Ave., MILTON VILLAGE, Sunday February 18 from 2-5 PM with a Masonic Service at 3:00 PM. Interment Private.

Sister Mary Faustina Duggan MFIC

Sister Mary Faustina Duggan MFIC, of Newton, a beloved member of the Missionary Franciscan Sisters for 80 years, died on February 10, 2018 at Saint Patrick’s Manor in Framingham.

She was the loving daughter of John Joseph and Nora (McGrath) Duggan. Sister of the late Hugh Duggan, Jim Duggan, Jack Duggan, Al Duggan, Angela Duggan and Sheila Duggan. Sister Faustina is survived by her nephew Hugo Duggan of London, England extended family, many friends and her Missionary Franciscan Sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Chapel at Mount Alvernia Convent, 790 Centre Street, Newton, MA 02458, Friday February 16 at 10:30 AM. Visitation in the Chapel from 9:00-10:30 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Sister Christina M. Killion MFIC

Sister Christina M. Killion MFIC, of Newton, a beloved member of the Missionary Franciscan Sisters for 68 years, died on February 12, 2018 at Bethany Healthcare Center in Framingham.

She was the loving daughter of the late Patrick and Bridget (Nicholson) Killion, sister of the late John Killion, Patrick Killion, Tom Killion, Fr. William Killion (Florida), Sr. Ellen Killion MFIC and Bridie Cunniffe. Sister Christina is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family and her Missionary Franciscan Sisters.
