Clarisse B. Hilaire

Clarisse B. Hilaire of Wellesley formerly of Dorchester passed away on January 17, 2020.  Beloved wife of the late Rodolphe Hilaire.  Loving mother of Edwin Hilaire of West Roxbury and Patrick Hilaire of Palm Beach, CA. Cherished grandmother of 5 grandchildren.

Clarisse was born in Cap Haitian, Haiti.  She was a dietary aid at the Mattapan Chronic Hospital for many years before retiring.  She loved to cook and entertain for her friends and family.  She always enjoyed engaging in a good conversation with anyone.  Most of all Clarisse adored her family.  She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her.

Visitation on Saturday January 25, 2020 11:00am-1:00pm in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester Lower Mills. 

Peter E. Massad

Peter E. Massad of Milton, MA died 62 years young on Saturday January 18, 2020. 

Peter was born in Somerset, MA on August 14, 1957 to Edmond Massad and Minnie (Borje) Massad.  He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from University of Rhode Island, a Master of Public Health from Boston University and a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Arkansas.  He worked as a Senior Medical Science Liaison for Bausch and Lomb. 

He is survived by his wife Melissa Massad; his daughter, Madison Massad; his sister Adele Cabral; several adoring nieces and nephews; and a close-knit crew of family-friends who celebrated life with him. 

Peter’s marriage to Melissa was the definition of true love.  His support and love for his wife and daughter was unwavering and evident to everyone around them. Melissa and Madison were the lights of his life. 

Peter preferred to be active and had many hobbies.  He enjoyed every special moment shared with his daughter.  Peter loved animals, enjoyed breeding tropical fish, and was a member of the New England Aquarium Society.  He was an avid gardener, antique car enthusiast, enjoyed sailing and traveling with his “crew”.  Peter proudly served with Romanian Children’s relief. 

Peter was a gentle, one of a kind man, who was well liked by all who knew him.  He will be deeply missed.  The remembrance of joys shared are many.   You will be missed gentle man, you made everything better.

Priscilla (Rauscher) Saucier

Priscilla (Rauscher) Saucier, 87, of Rockland and Hanover, MA, passed away January 17, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Born in Milton to the late Carl and Agnes (Nelson) Rauscher.  Priscilla was a telephone operator for over 27 years with New England Telephone.

Beloved wife of the late Herve R. Saucier.  Loving mother of Linda Reid and her husband Daniel of Pembroke, Diane Schneider and her husband John of Arkansas, Laurie Hemmings and her husband Harvey of Maine, David and his wife Margaret of Rockland, Carol Curry and her husband Steven of Wareham.  Also, survived by 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.  Sister of the late Pauline McPhee of Dover, DE. Priscilla enjoyed wintering in Florida.

Interment Private.

Kathleen M. Joyce

Kathleen “Kathie” Marie (Lannan) Joyce, of Mashpee, MA passed peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2020 at the age of 87 at Bridges by Epoch, where she will be remembered by the staff for her winsome demeanor and infectious smile.

Kathie is survived by her devoted husband Bill; her two sons, Joe Lannan and Larry Lannan; her stepchildren Lori Galotti, Barbie Joyce, Kevin Joyce, Nancy Lafauce, Kerry Joyce, and Debra LaMonica; her sister, Peggy Linskey; as well as her five granddaughters and two great-grandchildren, whom she adored and relished in being the best Mimi.

Kathie was always impeccably dressed and took great pride in maintaining a beautiful home. Known for her exquisite penmanship she was often called upon to create beautiful cards, invitations and announcements for family and friends. She and Bill lived in Braintree before retiring to the Southport community in Mashpee.  For nearly twenty-five years, they enjoyed driving the back roads of their beloved Cape Cod and dining out every day at a different restaurant.  Kathie, with her social grace and quick sense of humor, made friends wherever they went, and her engaging presence will be missed at many of her and Bill’s favorite places.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Ann Church, 757 Hancock Street, Quincy, Saturday February 1 at 10:30 AM.  Relatives and friends invited.  Visiting hours Friday January 31, 4-8 PM at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE.  Interment at a later date. 

Marie Christine Lamarre

Marie Christine (Blain) Lamarre, lovingly known as “Nina de Blain”, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 after a long battle of terminal illness.

She was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on April 19, 1935 to the late Joseph Blain and Inocia Edouard. She was raised in the neighborhood of Bel Air where she attended Lycée Des Jeunes Filles. There, she completed a vocational program and gained the necessary skills that would aid in her succession to later become the first woman ever employed in the male-dominated Haitian Federation of Soccer.

In 1959, she married the late Michelet Lamarre where they lived together in Delmas, Port-au-Prince before relocating to Manhattan, NY in 1967. She is survived by her three children, Rudolph, Marc Harry, and Micheline. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Visiting hours will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, on Friday, January 17, at 9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Matthew Church at 11a.m. Interment at Fairview Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.

Franklin B. Wilson III

Franklin Wilson III was the second to youngest child born to Shirley and Franklin Wilson in 1969.

Franklin graduated from Scituate High School in Scituate MA. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army. After retiring from
the Army, Franklin worked for Bakers Commodities Corp., in Lowell, MA for 15 years.

Franklin’s life was enriched by the birth of his sons Treyvon and Jokai Wilson. He was a loving and devoted father and was very proud of his sons.

He was a compassionate lover of animals and created a shelter on
his property for homeless cats to seek refuge in inclement weather, providing food, water and shelter for animals that found their way to
the sanctuary on his property.

Franklin departed this life on January 5, 2020 due to smoke inhalation. He passed away with his brother Gregory, who planned to stay with Franklin for a while to help work on remodeling in the home. They had made substantial progress prior to their passing.

Franklin was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfatir and Akil Wilson, and sister Walidah Wilson. He leaves to mourn, his sons Treyvon and Jokai Wilson of MA; father, Franklin B. Wilson Jr. of MA; mother, Shirley J. Wilson of M. siblings, Elbert Wilson of Roslindale, MA; Daphne and Dennis Brown of Springfield, MA; Solomon Wilson and Lynette Green of Cambridge, MA; Jabreela (Bree) Bass of New Britain, CT; and Lena Wilson of Roslindale, MA. Nephews and nieces: Corey, Lionel, Shannon, Krystal, Kyle, Jennifer, Melissa, Daniel, David, Solomon Jr., Darius, and DaAsia. Great nephews and nieces: Teon Jr., Gabriella, Leneyah and Niyahna. He also leaves to mourn, loving aunts, Pecola Brown of NY; Evelyn Murphy of SC; Barbara Wilson of MA; Victoria Weaver of SC, and a host of family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Thursday, January 16, at 11am. Relatives and friends invited.

Gregory Wilson

Gregory Wilson, 61, of Boston, departed this life on Sunday, January 5, 2020 due to smoke inhalation.

He passed away with his brother Franklin. He had planned to stay with Franklin for a while to help work on remodeling in the home. They had made substantial progress prior to their passing.

Gregory Wilson was the second to the oldest child born to Shirley and Franklin Wilson in 1958.

After graduating high school, Gregory attended Salem State University. In 1975, he joined the United States Marines Corps and traveled to many locations within the states as well as to other countries. After retiring from the Marines, Gregory went on to further his education and became a specialist in HVAC. He enjoyed the benefits of that education by becoming well respected in the field of Maintenance Engineering. With that education he held positions throughout Massachusetts. He was also self-taught in Russian language to better communicate with a community he served.

In 2010, Gregory relocated to Rosamond California where he worked at Edwards Air Force Base as a Maintenance Engineer until retiring. In early 2019, he returned to Boston. He enjoyed traveling with family or alone, across the U.S. as well as to other countries. Canada was one of his favorite places to visit.

Gregory was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfatir and Akil Wilson, and sister, Walidah Wilson. He leaves to mourn, daughter Krystal Tucker of MA; father, Franklin B. Wilson Jr. of MA; mother, Shirley J. Wilson of MA; siblings, Elbert Wilson of Roslindale, MA; Daphne and Dennis Brown of Springfield, MA; Solomon Wilson and Lynette Green of Cambridge, MA; Jabreela (Bree) Bass of New Britain, CT; and Lena Wilson of Roslindale, MA. Nephews and nieces: Corey, Lionel, Shannon, Kyle, Jennifer, Melissa, Daniel, David, Solomon Jr., Darius, and DaAsia. Great nephews and nieces: Treyvon, Teon Jr., Jokai, Gabrialla, Leneyah and Niyahna. AnnMarie F. Bynoe

AnnMarie F. (Moses) Bynoe, 66, of Hyde Park, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 surrounded by her family.

Beloved wife of Keith A. Bynoe Sr. Loving mother of Alita M. Bynoe, Kedra A. Bynoe, Keith A. Bynoe Jr., and Joshua A. Bynoe. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, a great grandchild, and many other relatives that will miss her dearly.

John “Jack” McCarthy

John “Jack” McCarthy, Age 86, of Braintree, formerly of Milton and West Roxbury. Passed away peacefully on January 7, 2020.

Beloved husband of Joanne (Roland) McCarthy of West Roxbury.  Devoted father of Dr. Francis and Joan McCarthy of Andover, Joan and Jack Mitchell of Westford, The Honorable Kathleen McCarthy Neyman and Steve Neyman of North Andover, John McCarthy of Braintree, Ellen and Donald Needham of Milton, and Paul and Andrea McCarthy of Westford.  Loving grandfather to 19 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and brother of the late Barbara (McCarthy) Collins.

Jack was a member of St. Sebastian Alumni Class of 1950, Boston College Class of 1954 and Boston College Law School Class of 1957.  Jack was Captain in the U.S. Air Force 1957-1960.  He returned to practice law as a partner at Warner & Stackpole and a partner at K&L Gates, LLP.  

Jack served as the Chairman of The Carroll Center for the Blind and was committed to its mission of providing independence of the blind and visually impaired.  He also devoted his time to his passions including, Upland Game and Trout Club of Norfolk, Beth Israel Deaconess – Milton Hospital, and many community initiatives.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary of the Hills Church, Saturday, January 11 at 10:00 AM.  Family and friends invited.  Visiting hours at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Friday from 4-8 PM.  Interment Milton Cemetery.

Marjorie E. Manley

Marjorie (Wigandt) Gallant Manley, age 92, of Dorchester and Braintree passed away peacefully on January 5, 2020.  Marjorie, born February 15, 1927 in Boston, Massachusetts, was the daughter of the late Gertrude M (Firnrohr) and Lawrence P Wigandt.

After graduating from Dorchester High School for Girls in 1945, Marjorie began a career as a dental technician at Axelrod Dental Laboratory where she met her future husband the late Peter A. Gallant.

Marjorie and Peter were married on June 30, 1948, made their home in Dorchester sharing 41 years together—passing on the same exact date, 31 years apart. 

Devoted mother of Paul Gallant and his wife Dorothy of Norton, Susan Watson and her late husband Larry Watson of Texas, Donna Cunio and her husband Richard of Norwell and Jo-Anne Cammorata and her husband Andrew of Hanover.

Sister of Natalie Galaway of Minnesota, Ruth Hewson of Braintree and the late Gladys Killam and Lawrence Wigandt.

A dedicated Nana to 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A woman of many talents, Marjorie was a member of the Viking Club, a graceful ballroom dancer and in her 70’s a performer with the Tender Tappers.  She was active in New Beginnings, the South Shore Widow and Widowers Group, the First Congregational Church of East Milton, the First Baptist Church of Dorchester and past President of their Alpha Guild. Marjorie was an accomplished seamstress who took great pride in her home.  She was a loving caregiver, a born nurturer, who loved to knit, crochet and garden. Marjorie loved to feed people.  She will be remembered for her many delicious cookie recipes that will be passed down to future generations.  She was known for her healthy appetite and her special love of lobster!

In 2000 Marjorie married William F. Manley and moved to Braintree.  Marge and Bill enjoyed many years together traveling and spending time with their combined families until illness separated them.
