Gregory Wilson

Gregory Wilson, 61, of Boston, departed this life on Sunday, January 5, 2020 due to smoke inhalation.

He passed away with his brother Franklin. He had planned to stay with Franklin for a while to help work on remodeling in the home. They had made substantial progress prior to their passing.

Gregory Wilson was the second to the oldest child born to Shirley and Franklin Wilson in 1958.

After graduating high school, Gregory attended Salem State University. In 1975, he joined the United States Marines Corps and traveled to many locations within the states as well as to other countries. After retiring from the Marines, Gregory went on to further his education and became a specialist in HVAC. He enjoyed the benefits of that education by becoming well respected in the field of Maintenance Engineering. With that education he held positions throughout Massachusetts. He was also self-taught in Russian language to better communicate with a community he served.

In 2010, Gregory relocated to Rosamond California where he worked at Edwards Air Force Base as a Maintenance Engineer until retiring. In early 2019, he returned to Boston. He enjoyed traveling with family or alone, across the U.S. as well as to other countries. Canada was one of his favorite places to visit.

Gregory was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfatir and Akil Wilson, and sister, Walidah Wilson. He leaves to mourn, daughter Krystal Tucker of MA; father, Franklin B. Wilson Jr. of MA; mother, Shirley J. Wilson of MA; siblings, Elbert Wilson of Roslindale, MA; Daphne and Dennis Brown of Springfield, MA; Solomon Wilson and Lynette Green of Cambridge, MA; Jabreela (Bree) Bass of New Britain, CT; and Lena Wilson of Roslindale, MA. Nephews and nieces: Corey, Lionel, Shannon, Kyle, Jennifer, Melissa, Daniel, David, Solomon Jr., Darius, and DaAsia. Great nephews and nieces: Treyvon, Teon Jr., Jokai, Gabrialla, Leneyah and Niyahna. He also leaves to mourn loving aunts, Pecola Brown of NY; Evelyn Murphy of SC; Barbara Wilson of MA; Victoria Weaver of SC, and a host of family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Thursday, January 16, at 11am. Relatives and friends invited.
