an engineering draftsman, died Monday August 24 at Sinai Rehabilitation Center, Boston. He was 82 years old.

Born in Lewisville, Texas, he has been a resident of Milton and formerly lived in the South End of Boston.

Beloved husband of Edmund Rapazzini of Milton. Brother of Joe Max Whitlock and his wife Marilyn and Norman Whitlock, all of Austin, TX. Loving nephew of Jessilu Houston Lewisville, TX. Dear uncle of Stephanie Whitlock of Chicago, IL and Andrew Whitlock of Austin, TX. Loving brother-in-law of Paula Phinney, Marie Rapazzini and Carol Stokes, all of Milton.

Marguerite "Deet" (Hickey) Hern

83, formerly of Milton and Centerville died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at her daughter’s home in Scituate.

Beloved wife of the late John D. Hern, devoted mother of Kathleen Hern Dray & husband Robert of Brighton, John D. Hern Jr., of Hanson, Anne Hern Scanlon of Plymouth, Maureen M. Hern of Barnstable, Margaret C. Hern of Brighton, Amy Nutter & husband Steven of Falmouth, Rosemary Lockwood and husband David of Scituate, Peter
A. Hern and wife Susan of Hingham, Tracy Hern McGreevy of CA, and
James Leo Hern and wife Edwina of Easton. She is survived by 18
grandchildren. Also survived by William A. Hickey Jr. of Hanover, New
Hampshire and Joanne H. Moore of Peabody, MA. She was predeceased by
her siblings Mary Murphy, Thomas Hickey, Eleanor Chew Horrigan, and
Jeanne O’Callahan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY. , she raised her family in Milton and she and John spent their later years in Centerville.

of Milton and Naples FL, August 19, 2009. Former wife of the late Maj. Gen. Charles W. Sweeney (USAF). Mother of Patricia and Ed O’Neill of Cheshire, CT, Marylyn and Brian Howe of Marshfield Hills, Charles W. Sweeney, Jr., of CA, M. Carol Sweeney-Boyd and her husband Charles of Milton, Terence and Diane Sweeney of AZ, Rosemary and Tom Gunning of Norwell, Elizabeth Sweeney of Cape Cod, Joseph and Meg Sweeney of Milton, Bonnie Sweeney and Paul Barnicle of Boston and the late Joan Sweeney and Michele Saulnier. Donald R. Gregory

of Boston and Owls Head, ME, died at his home in Boston on August 20, 2009.

Born in Rockland, Maine, Don graduated with honors from Rockland High School in 1960 where he was a member of the championship Debating Society.

Don furthered his education at Duke University (Class of 1964) and received his Masters Degree in International Politics from the University of Maine-Orono.

After school, Don worked for three years as a Journalist for the Bangor Daily News and the Rockland Courier Gazette. He covered human interest stories throughout Europe. His time in Italy was a highlight for him, and he made many lifelong friends there.

Upon his return home to the United States, Don resided in Arlington, VA where he worked at the Bureau of Hearings and Appeals for the Social Security Administration. He then became the Legislative Director for the Republican Senatorial Committee.

Don also worked as the Director of Public Relations for the Amway Corporation, and later became a Political Consultant and specialized in U.S. Senate races.

The thing that he liked best was spending time with his family and friends at The Cottage at Owl’s Head, Maine.

Beloved husband of Mary K. Ames of Boston. Brother of the late David D. Gregory And Brother-in-law of Jon Bonsall and his wife Kathy of Wellesley. Beloved uncle

Eugene C. "Gene" Stancato

56, of Dorchester, died at his home after a brief illness on August 14, 2009.

Gene was born in Boston and was employed for 35 years at Intronics in Norwood. He was a Sales Director at Intronics, a company that designs and manufactures standard and custom AC/DC converters, function modules, and analog signal processors for wide variety of applications.

Beloved husband of Mary E. (Craig) Stancato. Father of Sarah R. and Eugene C. Stancato, both of Dorchester. Son of Anthony D. and Rosalie M. (Stella) Stancato of Dorchester. Paul V. Conlan

a retired wiring inspector for the City of Boston, died Tuesday August 11 at his home in Braintree. He was 76 years old.

Born in Medford, he was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School and Coyle Electrical School. Mr. Conlan served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a former owner of Friends Catering in Dorchester which he sold in 1984 and Conlan’s Market, Dorchester, which he sold in 1985. Paul retired from the City of Boston in 2001.

He was a member of IBEW Local 103, a fourth degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Dorchester Lower Mills Council #180, past president of the Dorchester Board of Trade and past president of Dorchester Kiwanis.

He had recently moved to Braintree, having lived in Dorchester and Milton.

Beloved husband of Alice M. (Keating) Conlan. Loving father of Greg P. Conlan (BFD) of Needham and Elizabeth A. Collins and her husband Joseph of Braintree. Grandfather of Gabrielle, Michaela, Paul and Jack Collins and Kara Marie Conlan. Brother of Mary E. Keeley of Dorchester, Joan Jaehnig of Quincy and the late John F. Conlan.

David Ball O'Neill

retired assistant director of ABCD in Dorchester, died Monday August 10 at his home in Dorchester. He was 84 years old.

Born and raised in Boston, he attended Boston Public Schools. Mr. O’Neill retired in 1987.

Beloved husband of Patricia E. (McGrath) O’Neill. Loving father of David X. O’Neill of Dorchester and Patrick J. O’Neill of CT. Brother of Richard P. O’Neill of Weymouth and the late Sr. DePaul C.S.J. and Margaret Santosuosso.

Mary Patricia (Phelan) McAuliffe

of Quincy, died Friday August 7 at Sinai Rehabilitation Center, Boston after a long illness. She was 78 years old.

Born and raised in Weymouth, on Randall Avenue, she graduated from Weymouth High School in 1949. She lived in Quincy for more than fifty years.

Mrs. McAuliffe was a former employee of Raytheon in Quincy and later worked at the Bargain Center of Quincy. She loved to travel and spend time as a devoted loving and caring mother to all her family and everyone who knew her.

Devoted loving wife of the late Francis T. McAuliffe, she is survived by three daughters, Colleen Hope of Spencer, Marie Courage of Quincy and Janice McAuliffe of Spencer; 2 sons, Patrick McAuliffe of Boston and Michael McAuliffe of Quincy; grandson Michael Courage of Quincy; son-in-law Eric Hope; and a very loving friend Jean Bouchard of Quincy.

A private service will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, MILTON. There will be a Mass said in her name at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Quincy on Sunday August 16, 2009. Relatives and friends invited.

Mary L. Warren

71, of Weymouth, formerly of Milton, died on July 29, 2009 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Born in Boston, Mary lived in Dorchester and Milton before moving to Weymouth fifteen years ago.

Mary worked for Risk Strategies Inc. from 1999 until January of 2009 upon her retirement. She was the office manager and head of administration for that ten year period. Prior to Risk Strategies she worked at Alexander and Alexander in the Boston office. Both companies are leaders in the Insurance and underwriting industry.

She enjoyed traveling to Ireland and Bermuda.

Daughter of the late Thomas F. and Marie (Carney) Warren. Sister of Thomas F. Warren, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Westwood. Aunt of Kathleen Reilly and husband James, John Warren and wife Gerri, Mark Warren and wife Susan, Brian Warren and wife Joanne, Nancy Glasheen and husband Kevin ,Greg Warren and wife Lorri. Also survived by many cousins and close friends.

Frances A. (Zona) Bertuccio

85, died at her home in Milton after an illness on July 28, 2009.

Born in Hingham, Frances worked as a bookkeeper at an advertising firm. She retired in 1986 and was an active and valued volunteer at Saint Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Milton.

Beloved wife of the late John A. Bertuccio. Daughter of the late Nicolas and Mary (Arena) Zona. Frances was preceded in death by 9 siblings and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
