Linda Diane Mihal, 71, of Weymouth, passed away on Sunday, September 13th, 2020. 

Linda was and will forever remain a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend to so many. Her sense of joy and humor was a light that will always shine in our hearts and memories. She had a smile so warm and soothing that one could not help but smile in her company. Her laughter could heal most any wound, it was just as alive as her powerful spirit. Mum’s real superpower was how she could make anyone in any situation feel at ease. She knew just who she was and lived her truth. Being so comfortable in her own skin she made space for others to do the same. If you knew her for a day or a decade, Linda Mihal gave you her heart on her sleeve, and she truly meant it. 

Our mother loved her children and grandchildren with all that she had. She counted not pennies but moments in love with her family as her treasure. She would call us kids her pride and joy, and now as I think of her life and love I can think of no better words to describe a woman so dedicated and selfless for her family. She was and is our pride and joy. 

For those that knew Linda you already know the story of her life, what she enjoyed doing, how she spent her time. More than this, you know that the story of her life is best captured in every conversation shared, every prayer she sent up for those she loved, every hand she held in times of distress, and in every face she lit up as she smiled out your name and reached for a warm embrace. We will love her for all of her beautiful ways, for always. 

Linda was born on July 30th, 1949 in Boston, MA. She was the daughter of May and Phillip Mihal of Dorchester, MA.  She was a vibrant soul who is survived by her five loving children Marybeth Murphy of Brookfield, Justin Murphy and his wife Emily of Quincy, Ryan Murphy and his wife Sandra of North Conway, NH, Kaitlin Murphy of Somerville and Desara Mihal and her fiancé James McGregor of Weymouth.  Cherished grandmother of Patrick Murphy and Johnny Murphy who were her true pride and joy.  Linda is survived by many cousins whom she adored and her dearest friend, Lynda Mitchell of Braintree.

Deidra Graham of Boston passed away on September 11, 2020 after a lengthy illness.  She was the beloved daughter of Basil and Gloria Graham.  Cherished mother of Diandra and Cassandra Pusey both of Boston.  Loving sister of Kervin Graham of Boston.

Deidra was born in Hanover, Jamaica.  She came to the United States in 1993 where she continued her education and began working at Dana Farber Hospital in Boston as a nursing assistant.  Deidra was devoted to her children and her family who were the cornerstone of her life.  She enjoyed shopping, reading, cooking and baking.  Deidra will be remembered by her family as a woman who was full of life and her good nature will never be forgotten.  She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday September 19, 2020 from 9-11am in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester Lower Mills.  Due to the restrictions of Covid-19 Funeral Service and Interment will be Private.

Jeanne M. McLaughlin, age 60, of Saco, Maine, formerly of Quincy, MA, passed away September 12th, 2020.

Jeanne was born in Boston to the late John F. McLaughlin and Barbara J. McLaughlin. Growing up in Squantum, Jeanne never lost her love for living near the ocean. Jeanne greatly enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her beloved dogs. An avid animal lover, it was fitting that the work she was doing as part of a team at IDEXX contributed to the health and well-being of millions of dogs and cats.

Survived by daughter, Cassie Petersen, and siblings, Joan McLaughlin, Paul McLaughlin, and John McLaughlin Jr. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Paul, Michael, Ava, and Jessie, grandson, Riley, and her most loved dogs, Ollie and Penny.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton, Thursday September 17 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Wednesday 4-6 PM. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.

Mark Oleyar, 41 years old, of Milton, MA, formerly of Trumbull, CT, passed away tragically on Sunday September 6^th, the result of a motorcycle accident.

Mark was born in Bridgeport, CT, and grew up in Trumbull, CT.  He graduated from Trumbull High School, and held a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland.  Mark also served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine (Fernandes Oliveira Santos) Oleyar, his parents Robert and Bernice Oleyar, and his brother Robert and sister in law Theresa Oleyar.  Mark was also the proud uncle of eight nieces and nephews – Kaleigh, Aly, Andrew, Grace, and Lucy Oleyar, Bianca and Leticia Mendes, and Luisa Santos.  His family will forever cherish the time they had with him and will all miss him dearly.

Mark spent 20 years in the restaurant business in the Trumbull area, and most recently at Abby Park in Milton.  His charisma, wit, and charming smile touched the hearts of everyone he met.  There was no kind act or gesture that was too small for Mark.  He recently turned his love for helping others into a new career path, as the Director of Operations and Client Support at The Overlook House, a sober living house in Milton.  Mark’s positive energy, experiences, and passion for helping others, along with his recent success with his own sobriety, provided hope and support to so many people on their roads to sobriety.

Mark was an avid dog lover, and in addition to having had dogs of his own, he spent countless hours volunteering at the Milton Animal League.  He was also a member of the Boston Bulldogs Running Club, where he could share not just his love of running but also of giving back and helping others in the community.

Services will be private.  A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at a later date. Francis Xavier Downing, 81, formerly of Lee, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 10^th at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham, MA, after a long illness. Francis (Franny) was born in Boston in 1939, the son of Walter and Emily Downing and raised, together with his 5 brothers—John, Walter, Jeremiah, Peter, and Stephen—in Hingham. Francis received a BS in Pharmacy from Fordham University in 1963. That same year, Francis married Carol Jane Burns of Weymouth.

Fran began his professional career as a drug sales representative for E.R. Squibb in upstate New York. Fran and Carol later moved their family to Lee, Massachusetts. In 1972, Fran and Carol purchased McClelland Drug Store on Main Street in Lee, which they operated for more than 20 years.  

Francis is survived by his wife, Carol Downing of Plymouth, three sons, Peter Joseph Downing of Boston and wife Nubia Isabelle Torres of Bogota, Colombia; Timothy Michael Downing and wife Genevieve de Manio of Carlisle, and Patrick Francis Downing and wife Beth Ann Downing of Franklin, MA. Fran is also survived by his brother, Jeremiah Downing of Carver, and Stephen Downing and wife Susan Downing of Scituate; and seven grandchildren—Natalie, Thomas, Jill, Emily, Caroline, Christopher, and Michael.

Ginette Rita Auguste, a longtime resident of Dorchester, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday September 7, 2020.

Ginette, also known as Mama Rita, was born December 28, 1943 in Thomonde, Haiti to Joseph Damour Cadichon and Rosemarie Illa Raphael. Ginette was a loving homemaker. She immigrated to the US in 1974. Upon moving to Boston, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant helping those in need until her retirement in 2001.

Ginette’s pride and joy were her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, she called them often and called her children daily. She was known to prepare special individualized meals for her grandchildren when they came to visit her. Ginette was a devout Catholic. If she could not make mass, you could find her watching services at home.  In her Pass time she loved to watch movies like Coming to America and Sisi, which she has watched over 1000 times. She also loved telling jokes and sharing her wisdom through Haitian proverbs.

She is survived by George Auguste, her husband of 59 years, her 8 children (Rosemarie, Guerta, Edson, Wedline, Wander, Rigaud, Larousse and Lutton) and her 33 grandchildren (Guerline, Philippe, Evans, Monique, Victoria, Derek, Yuri, Jessica, Mackenley, Wilky, Lanezja, Ailani, Maelle, Octavian, Thalia, Crispin, Ruby, Justin, Shayla, Junique, Dannie, Rigona, Rigodline, Jinette, Rigosson, Juninho, Santo, Rousseline, Djenika, Petrovna, Mydjuna, Derline and Neiflarah) and 8 great grandchildren (Jace, Jai, Javian, Selena, Marcellus, Masen, Makylie, and Viola) and her 6 living siblings (Jacques, Joseph, Gabriel, Elly, Rene and Pericles). Ginette also survived by over 50 nieces, nephews and cousins.  Preceded by Carneau, Eles, Gideon, Rosana and Estida.

The visiting hours will take place at Dolan’s Funeral Home 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, on Sunday September 13^th from 2:00-6:00PM. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Angela’s Church in Boston. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams St., Dorchester, MA 02124.

The repast will be open to the public and start at 1pm at 10 Owencroft Rd., Boston, MA 02124 for those who would like to pay their respects. We ask that all adhere to the COVID19 guidelines of masking and social distancing. Masks will be provided for those who don’t have one and hand sanitizer will be readily available on site.

Antonia Gregorio of Coura, Trinidad & Tobago passed away on her 96^th birthday on September 2^nd, 2020. 

Antonia was born on September 2^nd, 1924 to her mother Celestina Reyes and her father Julian Marine. 

Antonia will be lovingly remembered by her children Lita (Gregorio) Thomas, Philomena Shirley (Gregorio) Frank, Francis Xavier Gregorio, Malcolm Wayne Gregorio, and Clint Michael Gregorio. She is survived by 7 siblings by father (the Marines and the Laras). 

Antonia also had 20 grandchildren, Leiba Thomas, Leylon Thomas, Lex James, Leyson Thomas, Leika Thomas, Mereliana Hunte, Natarsha Hunte, Kera Hunte, Recia Williams, Aria Frank, Mesue Wyre, Melissa Gregorio, Malcolm Gregorio, Mario Gregorio, Marlon Gregorio, Maquis Gregorio, Michael Gregorio, Evyn Gregorio, Grantley Gregorio, and 25 great-grandchildren. 

Last but not least, she leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

A longtime resident of Saint Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago. She left Trinidad & Tobago and migrated to Boston, MA in 1977. She resided in Dorchester until her passing. 

Antonia was an exceptional cook, she loved to host parties and attend social gatherings, and enjoyed anything carnival. She was fluent in Spanish, enjoyed making wine, and watching her telenovelas. She was an amazing swimmer and loved the ocean. 

Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Tuesday, September 8, from 9-10am. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Mark Church.

Dorothy Jean Haney, 79, died peacefully at The Dr. Ruth McLain Hospice Home in Braintree, MA on Thursday, September 3, 2020.  She and her husband, J. Elliott Haney Jr., had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June. 

Jean Haney was the daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Dycus of Spindale and Forest City, North Carolina.  Jean spent her childhood in Spindale and attended the local schools, graduating from Central High School in 1958.  She received her undergraduate degree in education from Limestone College, Gaffney, South Carolina and her Master’s in Education from Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Jean taught elementary school for 25 years.  She and her husband lived Owensboro, Kentucky for 20 years where they raised their family.  She and Elliott later returned the Carolinas, including an enjoyable 18 years in Lake Wylie, South Carolina before they moved to Canton, Massachusetts to be closer to family.  Jean enjoyed club activities, travel and bridge when she retired.  She was active in local women’s clubs and loved participating in organized social events, parties and dances.

In addition to her husband, Jean is survived by her son Timothy Haney, his wife Michelle, and grandchildren, Alyssa and Alex.  Also, granddaughters Andrea and Carmen, daughters of a deceased son J. ( JayE ) Elliott Haney, III., brothers, Russell and Michael Dycus, their wives, Debbie and Becca, and a sister-in-law, Miriam ( Pat ) Haney Moss as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Louis Philippe Arty tragically left this world on August 10, 2020 in Belgium.  His life was cut shockingly short in a tragic cliff-diving accident in Floreffe, Belgium.

Most importantly, Philippe also known as Pipo, BFlow and CrossFlow was an exceptional loving father and a strong provider is survived by his two sons Bradley Arty and Maylan Arty, his mother Carole Demesmin Arty, brother Chad Arty & family, Stephanie Cox, mother of his children, brother Edgar Arty & family, sister Raquel Arty Edwards & family, and an extremely large and loving family of uncles, aunts, and cousins.  Though we all know it can be difficult to balance the needs of a thriving business, with those of family, Philippe never faltered and was always there for his two sons who were the biggest part of his life, who accompanied him in most of his adventures.

When you mix love with art, and allow the two to bring people together, then you have a wonderful thing.  You have something magical, you have Louis Phillipe Arty.  Philippe was the unity of art and love, a gift brought to us all by Carole Demesmin Arty and Michel Arty on August 11, 1981. He was born at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Brighton, Massachusetts.  A few years later, they blessed us all again with Chad Arty, another musical note to the family melody.

Wanting to raise their two sons in their native land, Carole moved back to Haiti with her boys, where they received their early schooling.  This strong desire to keep the boys educated in the French language and her native culture, explained why Pipo and Chad furthered their educations in francophone countries:  Guadeloupe, France and Belgium.  The two brothers grew up sharing a very special bond which no one could ever matched.

Pipo, BFlow, CrossFlow, was a wonderful human being, the kind of guy who left his mark wherever he went.  He built a strong fan following and made hundreds of friends everywhere he went.  He was also a spiritual man with strong moral values.  Both his parents were devout followers of their religions and this spirituality flowed through his music.  His business partners described him as an honest man, a real friend always ready to help others.  His stage companions respected his hosting skills, and his willingness to step down graciously to make room for someone else to shine.  Mainly he was “Pipo” for his mom, who held a very special melody in his heart, for his brothers, his sister and all members of his family who adored him because he was a warm, genuine, respectful and kind soul.

Summer vacations were spent in Haiti, Boston, Miami, & New Jersey.  Precious fun times were shared with Mom, Dad, Brother Edgar, Sister Raquel, Uncle Cons, Uncle Moze, uncle Victor (his God-Father) Uncle Castel, Uncle Stanley, Uncle Jean Jean, Uncle Vava, Taty Poupette, Taty Babeth, Aunt Therese (his God-Mother), Taty Nancy and their families and all of his cousins.  These fond memories contributed to their strong family-oriented characters. It was also an opportunity for Pipo and Chad to practice the English language, learn ” Creole” and stay connected to their American culture and their Haitian roots.  When higher education years came, Chad moved back to the United States to attend college and Philippe enrolled at UC Louvain (Universite Catholique de Louvain-La Neuve) in Belgium where he graduated, majoring in Economics.  After graduation, Louis Philippe established himself in Brussels, Belgium where he created a beautiful life and family with Stephanie Cox, the mother of his two adorable boys, Bradley and Maylan.  They had a collaborative and caring relationship based on mutual support and a deep love for their children.  This addition to his family made the beats in his heart truly Flow!!  His heart poured out when he spoke of his family and spent time creating special memories with his boys.

Being the son of Carole “Maroule” Demesmin Arty, a world-renowned Haitian singer and artist, Philippe developed, at an early age, a passion for music, singing and dancing.  He mastered the art of “Human Beatboxing”, which is the essence, the act of using your nose, throat, mouth and lips to create music.  His beatboxing talents and his natural flow on the stage, made him gain popularity as “BFlow” in the Belgium capital and surrounding regions.  He soon founded “Alerte Urbaine”, an organization, promoting Belgian Hip-Hop and bringing awareness to different styles of music and local talent.  BFlow participated in numerous competitions organized by WHBBE (World Human Beatbox Entertainment) to promote the art of Beatbox worldwide.  His participation in the 2014 WHBBE competition in the USA was one of his most memorable moments as he performed in the presence of some of his family members from Boston and other members who came to enjoy a BFlow/USA-Haitian freestyle performance.  BFlow loved “Hats” and always wore a Fedora on stage, marking his love for style.  They became his trademark and a “must-have” accessory for all his performances.  His deep love for Haiti and its culture resonated throughout his artistic life.  He was always proud to carry the Haitian flag wherever he performed, while sharing his heritage with the two prides of his life, Bradley and Maylan.

 With a thirst for more of Life and a desire to share his multiple talents in a different way, Philippe returned to school to acquire a degree in fitness and nutrition and ventured in coaching these two disciplines.  His newly created company, CrossFlow soon became very popular on social media sites, attracting a large audience and building an impressive clientele.  Amazingly, BFlow became also known as:  CrossFlow the Nutritionist, the Fitness coach, the Challenger with the special greetings “Hey what’s up challenger, challengers”, the Cliff-diver.  His seminars on nutrition, his “crazy Monday shows”, his cooking videos, his CrossFlow sauce recipes, and his dessert creation ” Tirayisien”, all became additional musical notes to our Pipo’s “Song of Life”.  His legacy will live forever.  We will always carry his memory in our hearts.

Charita Jean Baptiste (88) of Hyde Park, MA went home to be with her heavenly father on Saturday August 22, 2020 alongside her loving family.

Born on December 17, 1931 in La Valle de Jacmel, Haiti, Charita was the last living child of the late Joseph Jean Baptiste and Melanie Beauger. During her time in Haiti, Charita worked as a food vendor where she came to be well known for her griot, joyful presence, and kind heart.

In 2000, Charita emigrated to the United States where she lived, loved and shared countless memories with family and friends alike. During this time, Charita provided care for numerous children and became known as “Gran” not only to her immediate family, but to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. Charita loved spending time with her family and always made the many children in her life her top priority.

Some of her favorite activities included the time spent with her family and all the children she cared for. Charita could always be found cooking a special meal for her family, watching basketball, wrestling, telenovelas, and participating in the occasional dance party with Pep, Matthew, and Matteo. Charita embodied the meaning of kind-heartedness and spread to joy everyone she met. Even in her last month here on earth, she faced an uphill health battle with the utmost determination and grace.

Charita (Gran) will be missed by all and leaves her beloved children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to cherish her memories and legacy. Charita is preceded in death by her husband, Joel Boursiquot (1981) and two sons Joseph Printemps (1993) and Leon Boursiquot (1995).

She is survived by her 7 children: Phanie Jean, Marielle Jean-Louis, Marie Lourdes Dieuve, Thony Printemps, Judes Printemps, Jacqueline Printemps, and Julien Printemps

As followers of Christ, her family takes comfort knowing that she is rejoicing in heaven hand in hand with her husband Joel, two sons Joseph and Leon and her siblings.

A private funeral service will be held Our Lady of Perpetual Help for close friends and family followed by Interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
