Rory L. Grace of Mattapan, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017. Beloved husband of Sharon Grace. Loving father of Rory and Stephen Grace. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, December 16 at the Timothy Baptist Church, 35 Highland St., Roxbury from 4-6PM.Funeral services will be held on Sunday at the People’s Baptist Church, 830 Tremont St., Boston at 4PM. There will be a one hour viewing prior to the service at People’s Baptist Church. Interment at Fairview Cemetery on Monday, December 18 at 9:30Am.

Tara H. (Cavanaugh) O’Meara

Tara O’Meara, 65, beloved mother, wife, and friend passed away on December 11, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Tara was born and raised in Milton, Massachusetts, and attended Milton High School.  After high school she attended the Katharine Gibbs School, and went on to spend most of her professional career working at the Massachusetts State House until her retirement in 2014.

Tara’s main priority and focus was her beloved family and friends who always described her as warm, kind, and generous.  She could always be found entertaining, decorating, or cooking.  For all those who were lucky enough to be in her presence she will be greatly missed each and every day.

Beloved wife of Brian L. O’Meara. Loving mother of Michael Brennan of Portland, ME, Maisie Ostrye of Natick and the late Brian Brennan. Sister of Jerome Cavanaugh of Milton and the late James Newell and Fredericka McIntyre. Devoted grandmother of Miles Ostrye of Natick. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday at 12 noon , in the Dolan – Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Ave, MILTON VILLAGE. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Friday morning 10 – 12. Interment private.

Agnes (McDonough) McNamara

Agnes (McDonough) McNamara, of Dorchester, December 11, 2017.

Beloved wife of the late Francis “Buddy” McNamara. Loving sister of the late Mildred Godas and Teresa Mayo.  Much beloved Aunt of Joseph Godas and his wife Bonnie of Braintree, Susan Mayo, Frank Mayo and his wife Lori all of S. Boston. Devoted Great Aunt of Alex and Charlotte Godas both of Braintree, Matthew and Bridget Mayo both of S. Boston.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Gregory Church, 2223 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Thursday, December 14  at 10:00 am. Visiting ours at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Thursday 8:30 – 9:30 am. Interment Private.

Yolande Cange

Yolande Cange,  of  Hyde Park died on December 6, 2017.  She is the beloved wife of the late Simon Cange.  Loving mother of David Cange of Norwood, Serge Cange of Norwood, Marie Lorole of Hyde Park, Sulfise Cange of Haiti, Nadia Cange of Brockton and Marie Yolene Cange of Montreal, Canada.  Grandmother of Kemissa Georges, Betane Chery, Magdaline Chery, Chantal Chery, Carline Chery, Victoria Lorole, William Lorole, Ruben’s Cange, Christine Jean, Richcove Jean, Bianca Chery, Vanessa Berthol, Jimmy Berthol, Josue Lorole, Woodly Lorole, Dyan-Al Gumar Georges, Jamill Georges, Jessica Georges, Jonathan Jean-Baptist, Jordan Jean-Baptist, Steven Jean-Baptist, Gabriel Noel,Regine Lavache, Vitaro Lavache, Dora Ducass and Fabinne Lorele.

Yolande was born and raised in Haiti.  After traveling to the United States to be close to her family she quickly became a loving  grandmother  and  caregiver to her many grandchildren.  She was a very spiritual person with an affectionate personality.  Yolande enjoyed cooking, gardening and was a true people person.  Most of all Yolande loved her family who meant the world to her.  She will be forever loved and missed by all who had known her.

James McAuliffe

James McAuliffe, of Milton, formerly of Taur, Newmarket, Cork, Ireland, December 11, 2017.

Beloved husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (Coneys). Loving father of Ann Marie Bizak and her husband Bob of Hanover, James D. McAuliffe and his wife Ellen, Michael R. McAuliffe and his wife Christine and Robert M. McAuliffe and his wife Lisa, all of Milton. Grandfather of Audrey Bizak, Denis, Kate, Brendan, Daniel, Matthew and Conor McAuliffe. Jim is one of eleven children and survived by his siblings Margaret and Jeremiah and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Jim was a US Navy veteran and a union carpenter before he established Duhallow Real Estate in 1970. He was active with the Elks, Knights of Columbus, Lions and President’s Golf Club Men’s Assn. and enjoyed playing golf.

Fr. Aubrey Cedric McNeil OFM

Fr. Aubrey McNeil, OFM, 72, a professed Franciscan friar for 36 years and a priest for 32, died at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, Massachusetts Tuesday December 5, 2017.

A viewing is scheduled for December 11 from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at St. Anthony Shrine, 100 Arch St., Boston.  A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Provincial Minister Fr. Kevin Mullen, OFM, at 10:30 at the Shrine.  A Memorial Mass will be held on Dec. 15 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Anderson, S.C., where Fr. McNeil had been stationed for the last 12 years.

Early Years
Fr. McNeil was born on Feb. 16, 1945 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada, to Donald and Monica (nee McInnis) McNeil and baptized on March 11, 1945 at  St. Joseph’s Church in Reserve, N.S.  The family moved to Roxbury, Mass., where Fr. McNeil attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help grammar school.  He then attended St. Joseph Seminary in Callicoon, N.Y., for high school and the first two years of college.  He earned a B.A. in English from Stonehill College in North Easton, Mass., in 1967.

After spending some years as a lay missionary in Africa and a registered nurse, Fr. McNeil was received into the Franciscan Order on June 15, 1980 at St. Francis Friary, Brookline, Mass., and, after earning a master of divinity degree from the Washington Theological Union, Fr. McNeil professed his solemn vows on June 15, 1985 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in New York City. He was ordained on Oct. 19, 1985 at St. Camillus Church in Silver Spring, Md.

Ministry
After his ordination, Fr. McNeil was appointed co-pastor at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Camden, N.J., where he served from 1985 until 1989.  The following year he was assigned as pre-novitiate formation director in Mbarara, Uganda. He returned to the U.S. in 1990, serving as parochial vicar of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in New York City until 2002.

For the next 13 years, Fr. McNeil was stationed at Holy Cross Parish in the Bronx, N.Y., first as associate formation director and parochial vicar and then as pastor. In 2005, Fr. McNeil was assigned to St. Mary of the Angels Parish in Anderson, where he was served as pastor for 12 years.  He also served as spiritual assistant to Our Lady of Good Counsel Secular Franciscan Fraternity in Greenville, S.C., as well as sacramental minister at St. Joseph Church in Anderson.

He is survived by his mother along with his brother, Daniel McNeil, and sister, Donna Wood, all of whom live in Plymouth, Mass.

Robert P. Martin

Robert P. Martin, of Westwood, formerly of North Quincy and Dorchester, died December 7, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Beloved son of Laura (Constestable) Martin of Quincy and the late Richard F. Martin.  Devoted  brother of Richard F. Martin, Jr. and his wife Diane of  Marshfield, Michael T. Martin and his wife Dotty of Hanover,  William Martin and his wife Mary of Quincy, Jane Daley and her husband Michael of Westwood and Patrick Martin and his wife Tammy of North Quincy and the late Nancy Martin-Landers.   Cherished uncle of 32 nieces and nephews.

Bobby was  born and raised in Dorchester.  He worked in the restaurant business managing several restaurants over the years and he was particularly proud of managing the Arches in Orange County California.   Bobby had a zest for life and a wonderful personality.  He was a member of the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corp and a longtime member of the McKeon post in Dorchester.  Bobby enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and playing golf.  He was proud of his service to his country in the United States Navy.  Most of all Bobby loved his family and spending time with his nieces and nephews who were the cornerstone of his life.  He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him.

Dorothy Mary (Hommel) O’Neil

Dorothy Mary (Hommel) O’Neil, 100, of Weymouth, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017.
Beloved wife of the late Louis Biganzoli. Loving mother of Dorothy Anne Peterson of Washington State, and Kathleen Rose O’Neil of Hyde Park. Sister of the late Alfred W. Hommel, Helen A. Purdy, William J. Hommel, Richard Hommel and Margaret Murphy. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Pius X Church, 101 Wolcott Road, Milton, Friday, December 8 at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hour at Dolan Funeral Home, 5 Canton Avenue, MILTON VILLAGE, Friday 10-11 AM. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.

Marguerite F. (Honnors) Howe

Marguerite F. (Honnors) Howe died at 93 years old of natural causes resulting from heart disease on November 22, 2017 at her residence is Walpole, MA.

Her loving husband of 65 years, Douglas B. Howe Jr. predeceased her by 8 yrs.  She leaves her three daughters, Linda J. Perrin, Marcia H. DeWolfe, and Pamela H. Sanborn, their husbands, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, along with several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at the First Parish Church of Weston, MA on Dec 16th, 2017 at 11 am.  In lieu of flowers a donation to Good Shepherd Community Care, 90 Wells Ave, Newton, MA 02459, would be appreciated.

Marguerite was born March 28, 1924 in Somerville, MA.  She grew up is Somerville and moved to Weston, MA after marrying Douglas B. Howe Jr.  Together they raised their three daughters is Weston.  There Marguerite was active in the Girls Scouts, often serving as a Brownie or Girl Scout Leader; taught Sunday school at the First Parish Church of Weston; and worked many years as a library assistant and audio visual specialist at Weston Junior High.  In her spare time she enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, crafting, and gardening.  She was a talented seamstress, sewing a variety of items from drapes and prom dresses to Ginny doll clothes for daughters’ dolls.  Marguerite was also a fabulous cook who usually had a delicious dessert baking in the oven along with the main meal.  In addition Marguerite thoroughly enjoyed attending musical shows and her grandchildren’s sports events.

Grammy and Pa, as she and her husband were fondly called by their grandchildren, retired to Waterford, VT where they enjoyed country living with their animals and their gardens.   She continued her hobbies, adding spinning and weaving to her repertoire.  For a period of time ‘Grammy and Pa’ raised sheep and enjoyed all the challenges and pleasures of sheep farming.  She cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren, especially when they visited her at School House Farm in VT.  To her grandchildren, Vermont was Grammy and Pa’s house.  Grammy, Marguerite, was the happiest during these visits with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  As a mother and grandmother she will be greatly missed.
