George G. Debreczeni

George G. Debreczeni, a machinist, died suddenly at his home in Fall River, Sunday March 13, 2011. He was 43 years old. Born in Boston, George is the son of the late George and Kathleen (Arthur) Debreczeni. Father of George Debreczeni III. Brother of Leah Debreczeni. Catherine T. (Carroll) Cahalane

Catherine T. (Carroll) Cahalane died at Massachusetts General Hospital after a short illness, Saturday March 19, 2011. She was 84 years old. Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester, she was a graduate of Saint Gregory High School and Fischer College, Boston. Mrs. Cahalane raised her children in Dorchester and Quincy before moving to Fuller Village in Milton, where she quilted, sewed, baked and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Kay has been described as an active, independent, vibrant, fun-loving and cool person. Beloved wife of the late Jeremiah F. Cahalane. Loving mother of Kathleen Powers, Maureen Cahalane Gallagher and her husband Michael, Jeremiah Cahalane and his wife Karla, all of Milton, Terrence Cahalane and his wife Debra of South Boston, Carol Cahalane Coombs and her husband Wes of Exeter, NH, Laureen Cahalane Tyne and her husband Patrick of Milton, Michael Cahalane and his wife Carol of Walpole and Eileen Cahalane of Quincy. Nana to Tara, James, Breeda, Catherine, Jerry, Devin, Dylan, Gillian, Emily, Shelagh, Andrea, Aisling, Aidan, Lila and Colin. Mary “Fitzie” (Fitzgerald) Finneran

Mary “Fitzie” (Fitzgerald) Finneran, a longtime resident of Dorchester, died at Marina Bay Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Saturday March 19, 2011. She was 90 years old. Born in Boston and raised in South Boston, she was a graduate of Nazareth High School (1938) and Emmanuel College (1942) with degrees in chemistry and math. Mary was a civilian employee for the United States Army during World War II. Mrs. Finneran raised her family in South Boston and Dorchester. She was a teacher’s aide for the City of Boston Public Schools for many years. An active participant in local civic and political events, she was an avid swimmer at the beaches in Dorchester. Mrs. Finneran enjoyed attending the horse races at Saratoga, NY and was a contestant on the trivia game show Jeopardy during the first year of production. Beloved mother of William Finneran and Mary L. Finneran, both of Dorchester, Robert Finneran of Charlestown, Thomas and his wife Donna Finneran of Mattapan, Lawrence Finneran of Saratoga Springs, NY, Paul Finneran and Katherine and her husband Gary Barkowski, all of Dorchester. Mother-in-law of Linda Finneran. John R. Ghublikian

John R. Ghublikian, formerly of New Seabury, Weymouth and Boston, died at Atria at Marina Place, after a long illness, Friday March 18, 2011. A chemical engineer and professor, John was born in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School  in 1935 and Tufts University in 1939. He began his career with the E. B. Badger Company in Cambridge as a chemical engineer. He served the company for several years in Europe and returned to serve as president from 1975 to 1983. Upon his retirement, he became a professor  at Tufts University teaching chemical plant management. He was  a member of the board at Wentworth Institute and served as chairman of the board from 1985 to 1992. Upon his retirement from the board at Wentworth, he was granted an Honorary Doctorate. He held several patents in the petro-chemical industry. Mr. Ghublikian summered for several years in New Seabury and upon retirement took up permanent residence there.  He was an avid tennis player and golfer. John was the beloved husband of the late Leona (Laskowski) Ghublikian. Father of Jack Ghublikian and his wife Maureen of Dorchester and Ann Ghublikian and her partner Margaret Sutherland of Richmond, Mass. He was grandfather of Anna, John and Jane Ghublikian. Pasquale J. Zona, a retired accountant, died at McCarthy Care Center, Sandwich, Wednesday March 16, 2011. He was 93 years old. Born in Boston, he served in the United States Army during World War II. Beloved husband of 70 years to Alice M. (Walsh) Zona of East Sandwich. Loving father of Jacqueline P. Coffman of Alexandria, VA, Lois A. Martin of Stow, MA and Joseph J. Zona of Arlington. Bernardine “Bernie” (Kennedy) McInnis

Bernardine “Bernie” (Kennedy) McInnis, of Milton, formerly of Boston and Melrose, died at her residence on Tuesday March 15, 2011. Born in Boston, Bernie graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Boston. She worked for over 35 years as a varitypist for Stone and Webster Engineering and later for Fay, Spofford and Thorndike Engineering. Bernie resided in Melrose for 15 years and was a former member of the YWCA in Melrose. She moved to Milton in 2005. Beloved wife of the late Vincent J. McInnis. Daughter of the late Michael L. and Margaret M. (Lonas) Kennedy. Survived by her stepdaughter Cheryl Douglas of Wakefield and her family. Sister of Catherine Smith of Roslindale and the late Mary Muthersbaugh and Margaret Moro. Bernie is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families and leaves her dear friends, Mary and Dr. Robert Dandrow of Milton and Mary and John Cleary of Quincy. Alteus Denis

Alteus Denis, age 88 years, of Brockton, formerly of Boston, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of the late Marie Lucienne Denis. Mr. Denis was born in Monbin Crochu, Haiti, the son of the late Alfreus and Sinfora (Emmanuel) Denis. He is survived by his children, Jean-Robert Denis and his wife Deborah of Florida, Mirielle Sinous and her husband Kesnel of Florida, Hosner Denis and his wife Janet of Dorchester, Frantz Denis of Haiti, Harry Denis and his wife Marie L. of Brockton, Ronald Denis and his wife Nancy of Georgia; and also by 30 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; one sister, Alide Emmanuel of Cerca La Source, Haiti. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Saint Angela Church, 1540 Blue Hill Ave., Mattapan, Saturday, March 19, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. William F. “Billy” Shea

William F. “Billy” Shea, of Quincy, died on March 15, 2011 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Billy served in the US Navy and prior to his retirement worked as a Production Planner for Polaroid Corp. Billy enjoyed bowling, watching his grandsons play hockey and watching his granddaughter dance. He was the beloved husband of Marie E. (Connolly) Shea for 46 years. Loving father of Mary Crowley of Weymouth and Kathleen Shea of Braintree. Devoted Papa of Ryan, Erin, Jack, Matthew and Luke. Brother of Mary Travers and Rita Russo, both of Florida, Dennis Shea of Boston, Kathleen Shea of Peabody and Paula Millar of Saugus.

Susan (McFadden) McGregor

Susan (McFadden) McGregor, of West Quincy, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2011 at Milton Hospital. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Sue was a resident of Quincy for 57 years. Devoted wife of the late James McGregor, Sue was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a faithful, active member of St. Mary’s Parish in Quincy. Mrs. McGregor is survived by her sons John and his wife Linda McGregor of Milton, Frank and his wife Joan McGregor of Quincy and her daughters Catrina Keezer of Quincy and Cathy Thompson of Scotland as well as her son-in-law, Bob Keezer of Pembroke. Sue was a gracious and adoring Nana to Lori, Michael, Melisa, Douglas, Brian, Carolyn, Derek, Jillian, Andrew, Darlene, Dominic and Darrin. She was a doting and oh-so-proud great grandmother to Haley, Scarlet, Lily, Joseph and Nicole.
