Retired Assistant Professor of Med Lab Science, Northeastern University and she actively serviced the needs of international students throughout her career.

Arthur T. Murphy

Arthur T. Murphy, of Milton, died at Alliance Healthcare, Braintree, Thursday August 18, 2016. He was 87 years old.

Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester, Mr. Murphy was a graduate of the Boston Public Schools. He served in the United States Naval Reserves (Naval Intelligence Corps) during the Korean War. He and his brother-in-law, John Goodens, were the owners of G and M Liquors, Fields Corner, Dorchester for many years. Mr. Murphy retired in 1996.

Beloved husband of the late Patricia A. (Guilfoyle) Murphy. Survived by his children Thomas D. Murphy of Avon, Arthur T. Murphy Jr. of Westerly, RI, Robert G. Murphy of Woodcliff, NJ, William J. Murphy of Washington, DC and Lynne M. Devine of Hingham. Grandfather of 19 and great-grandfather of 6. Brother of Phyllis Goodens of Milton, Lorraine Connolly of Stoneham and the late Paul Murphy and Jeanne Dudley. Son of the late Phillip Murphy and Marie (Mae) Nowlin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Adams Street at Brook Road, Milton, Wednesday August 24 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, Wednesday morning 9:00 -10:00 AM. Interment Milton Cemetery.

Madelyn Rita Higgins

Higgins, Madelyn Rita, 83, peacefully passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at Seasons Hospice House, Milton, MA. She is survived by her daughters, Madelyn Walsh and her husband Kevin of North Chelmsford, MA and Debra Higgins of Hyde Park, MA; also by her grandchildren, Jason Pimentel and his wife Christina of Long Island, NY, Allyson Marie Walsh and William Cavalier of North Chelmsford, MA and her great-granddaughter Gabriella Leah Pimentel. She was a retired long-time employee of New England Telephone & Telegraph. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St Pius the Tenth Church, Milton MA at 11:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made in Madelyn’s name to the SEASONS HOSPICE, 20 Mall Road, Suite 450, Burlington, MA 01803.

Arturo Arciniegas of Milton, Aug. 15,  beloved husband of Lucia Tafur de Arciniegas. Devoted father of Matilde Arciniegas and her husband Fernando Moreno of Takoma Park, MD, Diego Arciniegas and his husband David Fonte of Boston, and raconteur Grandfather to Rafael and Cristina Moreno both of Takoma Park, MD. A Memorial Mass will be held in St Anne’s Church, Readville Sat. Isolina P. Dimagiba

Dimagiba_LisolinawebpageIsolina (Pangilinan) Dimagiba,  age 89, passed away peacefully in Boston, August 12, 2016. Isolina was born on May 5, 1927 in Manila, Philippines, the daughter of Emilio Pangilinan and Margarita Cruz.

Isolina was a graduate of National Teachers College and The Philippine Women’s University in Manila. She was a college professor, teaching English and History, at Manuel L. Quezon University in Manila, and the University of Massachusetts in Boston. In addition to her lifelong love of teaching, she loved her family, friends, church, and the Patriots.

Beloved wife of the late Leonardo Dimagiba. Beloved mother of Emily Dimagiba, Enrique and his wife Carolina Dimagiba, Diosdado and his wife Cynthia Dimagiba, Angela and her husband David Dennis, Ray Dimagiba & Maria Colon, all of Boston, Celia and her husband Claro Balana of Manila, Nina Dimagiba & Richard Flaherty of West Palm Beach and the late Raquel and Antonio. Grandmother of Eric, Niña Lyn, Niña Fe, Erwin, Gia, D.L., Ariana, Allena, J.M., and Josh, all of Boston, Carmela, Carlo, Chris, and Jan, all of Manila. Sister of Violeta, Lilia, Lydia, Cristino, and the late Viador, Carolina, Arnulfo, and Teresita. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Constance R. (Racioppi) Harrison, of Milton, August 14, 2016.

Wife of the late John R. Harrison. Loving mother of Michael W. Harrison and Jeanne M. Harrison, both of Milton. Sister of Joyce Viola of Milton. Aunt of Robin Buonato of Weston and Jill Mannino of Milton. Great-aunt of Abigail and Samantha Buonato and Henry and George Mannino.

Austin M. Degenhardt

Austin M. Degenhardt, of Boston, age 25, died unexpectedly, August 3, 2016.

Born in Boston on March 21, 1991, he was the beloved son of the late Michael Degenhardt and Debra Rollo of Boston. He was a 2009 graduate of Southeastern Regional Technical School in Easton, MA and battled cancer his senior year.  Austin was a hard worker and held various jobs. Austin was a loving, kind, giving and compassionate young man, who loved unconditionally. Though he struggled with addiction, Austin was happiest in recovery. He loved AA and NA meetings and going to speak on commitments.  Austin was a member of the Lion of Judah Church in Boston where he found salvation in Jesus Christ. Austin will be deeply missed; surviving him besides his mother “Mama Dukes” and his brother Garrett Degenhardt “Getty D.” are aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his step-father Walter Rollo and his grandmother Levena Bernard.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, August 16 from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Lion of Judah Church, 68 Northampton Street, Boston, MA. Interment will be private.

Walter F. Maguire

Walter F. Maguire, of Milton, died on August 12, 2016.

Beloved husband of the late Barbara  (Berry) Maguire.  Loving  father of Barbara A. Barrett  of  Milton, Regina M. Maguire  of Milton, Paul W. Maguire of Bridgewater and the late Kevin, Martin, Thomas  and Stephen Maguire.  Brother of Joseph Maguire of New York, Anne Blesedell of Dorchester, Francis X. Maguire of Weymouth and the late Mary King.  Cherished  grandfather of nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Walter was born Boston and raised in Roxbury.  He lived in Dorchester before settling in  Milton in 1970 where he and his wife Barbara  raised their family.  He was a graduate of Boston College, Boston College Law and became a member of the Massachusetts Bar in 1954.  He practiced law for the City of Boston for over fifty years before retiring.  He was an avid shopper, enjoyed traveling and loved to spend time with family and entertaining a crowd for a barbeque.  Walter was a loyal Notre Dame fan and could always be found watching the game and cheering them on.  Most of all Walter was devoted to his family who were the cornerstone of his life.  He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him.

A Mass of Chirstian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 17, 2016 at 10:30AM in Saint Gregory Church, Dorchester Avenue.  Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday August 16 from 3:00PM – 7:00PM in the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite  Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE.  Interment Milton Cemetery.

Marilyn L. Walsh

Marilyn L. (Landers) Walsh passed away peacefully on August 11, 2016.  Born  on February 4, 1931, she was raised in Boston and the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Landers.  She was the beloved wife of the late James H. Walsh, M.D. of Milton, MA.

She is survived by her six children: James H. Walsh, III of Weymouth, MA; Mary Ann Walsh of Tampa, FL, Raymond L. Walsh of Milton, MA; Marilyn L. Walsh-Doyle of Randolph, MA;  Elizabeth J. Walsh of Charlestown, MA  and Jennifer A. McArdle  and her husband Chuck of Dorchester, MA.  Sister of Raymond Landers of Wakefield.   Marilyn is also survived by three loving grandchildren.

Marilyn was a nurse for over 50 years and brought her humor and compassion to all she touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth’s Church, Milton, MA, Tuesday August 16, 2016 at 10:00 A.M.  Visiting hours on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Dolan & Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Avenue, MILTON VILLAGE from 5:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.   Burial in Milton Cemetery, Milton.
