Mary “Marie” Donovan (Costello) of Milton formerly of Dorchester died on July 15, 2017.   Beloved  wife of the late John P. Donovan  (USMC).  Loving mother to Kayla  Donovan  of Milton.  Devoted daughter of Patrick Costello of Milton and the late Kathleen  Costello.  Sister of Donnie Costello and his fiancé  Vicki Greeke of Lynn.  Daughter in law of Veronica Donovan of Milton and the  late Mathew Donovan.  Cherished godmother of Patrick Costello of South Boston and Jamie Civitrese  of  Norwood.

Marie was born and raised in Dorchester.  She worked at Carney Hospital and Milton Hospital for  many  years  writing  medical transcripts.  She enjoyed home decorating, crafts and gardening with a magical touch.  She was proud of her Irish heritage and also played for an Irish Band.    Marie cherished her time with her daughter Kayla and spending time with family.  She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her, especially her beloved dog Lily Rose and cat Minot.

Carla Sofia Pereira age 41 passed away Saturday July 8, 2017. Beloved daughter of Antonio and the late Maria Isabel Pereira. Loving sister of Sandra, Nelson, Ivandro, Valter, and Nuno Pereira. Cynthia Lenora Taylor blessed this world with her presence on March 26, 1932 in Port of Spain, Trinidad W.I.  Cynthia attended Saint Crispin’s School in Woodbrook.  Through her journey, she married the love of her live Michael Taylor Sr. (deceased) in 1954 and formed what is now her legacy, Our Family.  Cynthia and Michael migrated to the United States from Trinidad in September 1970.

Cynthia worked for the Sheraton Hotel, Thompson Nursing Home, and retired from the Boston Public Schools Food and Nutritional Service Central Kitchen.  Food was her passion.  It was the way she showed her love.  To Mama, Food was love and she would cook for the entire neighborhood, literally.  No one could throw a cookout, or as we call them “fete”, like the Taylors.  For sure you could never out eat or out drink them because they were stocked for the world.

Cynthia was born into the hands of Melvina Helen Marshall and Gordon Marshall.  After 18 years of mourning the death of the love of her live, her husband, Michael Taylor, she decided to join him along with our other ancestors to continue to watch over, guide, and protect our family.  Most know Cynthia as Mrs. Taylor, others as Ma T or Ma Taylor, but to our family she is our Mama.  The Queen, yes she is, the head of our castle.  Such a lady she was.  We will truly miss her.

Cynthia leaves to celebrate her live her siblings Maze Blackman, Janet Marshall, Melvina Brorman, and Gloria Robinson of Washington, DC, Evonne Marshall of Canada, and Maxfield Marshall of Trinidad W.I.  Her children Rudolph Marshall, Maureen Layne, Annmarie Taylor Alleyne, Muriel Kennedy, Robert Taylor, and Cynthia Marilyn Taylor Ryan of Boston, Massachusetts, Michael Taylor Jr. of Orlando, Florida, and Kelvin Taylor of Trinidad W.I.  Her in-laws Rudolph Layne, Cynthia Monica Marshall, Winston Kennedy, Don Ryan, Cheryl Taylor, Wade “M.O.” Rodrigues, Kristal Calvey, and Anthony Alleyne Sr (deceased).

To carry on her legacy she also leaves behind her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Natasha (Jazmin, Jaden, Jayla), Anthony Jr. (Jonathon), Amanda (Amaiyah, Ashton), Diane “Peaches” (Muriel Daneijah, Jahdaya, Trinity), Andrea “Angie” (Nevaeh, Nykel), Antonette (Anai, Ayomi, Tonii, Nafari), Amalia (Anthony), Kiara (Kaleah, Reese, Ronald III), Keisha (Skylar), Jaheel (Cameron), Chantal (Chastity, Felicity), Keri, Robert, Aissa, Winston, Kristopher, Michael II, Marcus, and Marseille.

Mama was loved by many, too much to name but a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and close friends.  She left the stamp on our hearts forever.  We will always love and remember you MAMA.

Eric Anthony Jackson was born on October 6th 1987 to the late Sabrina Jackson and Hector Rodriquez. After graduating from Brighton high School in 2005. ll. Later on in 2012 Eric would than enroll in courses at Roxbury Community College (RCC). Eric went on to pursue his Love for Basketball in joining many community leagues around Boston. BNBL, Shelburne Community Center, & Barry’s streetball league at the Lee School to name a few. He also played in the Save Our Street tournament in 2015. He had a strong love for Basketball. Giving back to the community Eric also devoted his time with being a member at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church on Humboldt. Ave.

  The life of the party his presence always filled the room. Eric was always giving and willing to help anyone in need. His children were his world. Eric liked to spend his past time playing cards, at the casino, watching action movies & he also loved the National geographic channel. Eric or better known as E-Merks by his family and friends always knew how to make anyone around him laugh. He could be such a comedian at times & had a smile that could light up a room. His upbeat personality & his unique laugh was contagious enough to put anyone in a better mood.

Eric was called home with his creator on July 6, 2017 to Join Beloved Grandmother Barbara D Rucker, Beloved mother Sabrina Jackson & Brother Benjamin Jackson. He leaves behind to treasure his memory his beloved daughter Eliyah Erica Jackson, Sons Eric Chael Jackson & Adien Jackson , Three Brothers: Duane Jackson of Boston,Ma , Adam Jackson of Manchester, NH, & Albert Jackson of Walpole, Ma. along with a host of devoted Family & Friends.Visitation will be held on Friday morning 10 – 11 AM followed by a Funeral Service at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Warren St., Roxbury at 11AM. Dr. Philip L. McCarthy, most recently of Hingham, MA and a long time resident of Milton, MA, passed away on July 8, 2017 at the age of 95.  The son of Dr. Francis P and Emily (Truesdell) McCarthy, Dr. McCarthy grew up in Milton. He graduated from the Boston College High School, the College of the Holy Cross, and Tufts Medical School.  He went on to complete his Dermatology residency training at the University of Pennsylvania, and served as a physician in the US Army during the Korean War.  He returned to the US where he met his future wife Sheila McCarthy, whom he married in 1953.  He had a long career of over 50 years in dermatology and oral medicine, practicing in Quincy, MA. Dr. McCarthy also taught at Tufts Dental School and Massachusetts General Hospital. With his particular love of the sea, Dr. McCarthy spent many summers in Mattapoisett, MA with family and friends.  He is survived by his wife Sheila and four children: Dr. Philip Jr. (Jane) of Williamsville, NY, Dr. Carol McCarthy (Dr. Stephen Hayes) of Falmouth ME, Patricia Sanders (Dr. James) of Pittsford NY, and Brendan McCarthy (Dr. Elise) of Milton, and twelve grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tufts Medical School or St. Mary of the Hills Church in Milton.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Hills Church, Milton at 11 AM, Thursday July 13. After a battle with cancer Fred passed away at Seasons Hospice in Milton at the age of 71.  Fred was born in Jamaica Plain, the younger son of Ferdinand T. and Eleanor (Bogan) Kelley.  Fred graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in 1964 and from Providence College in 1968.  Fred is survived by his wife, Mary (Hurley) Kelley of Hanover; his sons Brian and his wife Amy, and Sean and his wife, Kim, all of Hanover.  He is also survived by his brother Ferdinand, of Duxbury and Vero Beach, Florida.  Fred was the grandfather of Allison, Kaitlyn and Owen Kelley, all of Hanover.

Miss Marion Cecilia Walsh passed away peacefully at her residence in Naples, Florida, Wednesday July 5, 2017.

She was born in Boston, MA, the only daughter of Patrick Joseph and Marie Connors Walsh. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Rev. Stephen M. Walsh, OFM of Boston and Robert E. Walsh and his wife, Katherine, of Oviedo, Florida. She is survived by her brother Richard J. Walsh and his wife, Roberta, also of Naples, two nieces and a nephew.

Marion enjoyed an active and distinguished career, both as a professional singer and later with L’Oreal USA as National Technical Director where she developed and conducted training programs for the sales force on various lines of hair color products. Based in New York City and travelling across the country and internationally, she approached her work with infectious, boundless energy and enthusiasm.   She was honored at L’Oreal with the company’s Lifetime Achievement Award and was among the invitees representing L’Oreal at the Tony, Emmy and Oscar award ceremonies.   She was valued not only for her technical knowledge and expertise but also as an inspirational mentor to interns and those in their early careers with the industry.

Living in New York City for many years, Marion was a devotee of the arts, involved with the Martha Graham Dance Company and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as a regular communicant of St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the Church of Our Savior.

Anyone who met “Miss Marion” remembers her vibrant, charming personality and delightful sense of humor. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. The family is especially grateful to the staffs at Terracina Grand and the Villa for their caregiving and attentiveness over the time of Marion’s residence in Naples.

At her request, there will be a private religious service for immediate family prior to her interment in the Boston area.

Angel Sealey Langlais, 67, passed away on July 5, 2017, while visiting her family and friends in St Thomas USVI for her 50^th high school reunion. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Angel has touched in many ways throughout her life. Angel Sealy Langlais also known as “Montana” was born in St.Thomas USVI on January 2, 1950. She was the second child to Erline Donicia Burke and Prince Sealey.  .  She is preceded in death by her brother Roy Alphonso Sealey, mother Erline George and father Prince Sealey and stepfather Edward Sylvester George who she was raised by.

Angel is survived by her loving husband, Crispin Langlais, her children Jereem, Jemile and Jerrica Langlais; her brothers and sister Aubrey “Cito” Dawson, Rhudel James and Denise James Walker and Roy Alphonso Sealey who proceeded her in death, Daughter in Law, Medgine Louis Langlais; Grandchildren Justine and Janae Langlais and Mikyra Graham, Aunt Leonille Hodge, Cousins Bernice and Merle King, Audrey T. Smith, Austin Jr, Alston King, Milagros Burke, Carol Molyneaux, Clara Romney, Corienne Long, Maurice Hodge, Kwame Motilewa, Liston Davis, Doris Davis; Sister in Law, Enid James, Leona Malone Dawson; Brother in Law; Paul Waker, Roy Langlais ; Nieces and Nephews; Michah James, Mercedes Waker and Alicia Langlais, Paul Waker, Regis James, Aubrey Jr, Seymore and DuJean Dawson, Gus Langlais, Will Langlais.

Special Friends: Alicia Saddler, Dalton Carty, Murial Diaz, Maxine and Vincent Tull, Butch and Murine Allen, and many others too numerous to mention.

She attended Lincoln School then Charlotte Amalie High School In St.Thomas from seventh onward.  After graduating from high school, Angel worked at Evelyn Marcelli Elementary School (formerly George Washington Elementary School) as an Administrative Secretary while in this position she would substitute as a fill teacher in teacher’s absence.

Angel married Crispin Langlais and had 3 children and relocated to Boston, MA where she presently resides for the last 40 years with her family, which included 3 grandbabies. While in Boston she obtained her associate degree from Fisher Junior College. She started to work at an insurance company for 25 years as an administrative assistant and moved up to the position of supervisor and then manager. After she worked as an assistant to the Beverage Buyer for 14 years and subsequently retired from that position. She was honored several times for professionalism, community service and being a role model for students and the community. Angel attended regular church services and volunteered for the ministry for homelessness that service men and women weekly at her church. She also volunteer/work at a homeless shelter for women for the past 22 years called Rosie’s Place in Boston.

Angel enjoyed babysitting her grand daughter and playing bingo weekly and games on the computer. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel and being on vacation with my family to such location as Germany, France, England, Barbados, St. Thomas, Houston, and other United States.

She gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life She will truly be missed by everyone. Rest in Pease Angel “Montana” Sealey Langlais.
