Oresie Michel

Oresie Michel, 89, of Jamaica Plain, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019, surrounded by family.

Loving mother of Rose Marie Alexis, Sonia Exume, Yolande Guerrier, Enock Exume, and Kettly Exume. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation at the Church of God Christian Life Center, 839 Washington Street, Dorchester, Saturday, October 19 at 8:00 am with the funeral service at 10:00 am. Interment Oak Lawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.

Corine Byrne

Corine (Rino) Byrne, of Milton and Falmouth, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2019, surrounded by a family who cherished and adored her.

Corine was born in Spokane, Washington, in 1922 to Joseph and Madeline Rino.  She grew up in Pocatello, Idaho where in 1946 she met and married Bob Byrne, a naval officer from Dorchester who was stationed there, and then bravely returned to Boston with him, leaving behind her mother, father, sister, brother and the beautiful big sky.

Corine attended St Mary’s College in South Bend Indiana.  She was kind, generous and interested in every person she met.  She played the piano and the accordion; she loved to travel, to dance, to play bridge, and everything Italian.  In her long and purposeful life she was active in her community and had many wonderful and lasting friendships, but above all Corine was devoted to her family and found happiness and fulfillment in caring for them.

Corine was the beloved wife of the late Robert Byrne, loving mother of Carla Byrne DuBard of Milton; Lonnie (Byrne) and Ed Smith of Milton and Falmouth; Bob and Rachel Byrne of Milton and Naples, Fla; Corine (Byrne) and John Mortimer of Falmouth; Lisa (Byrne) and Steve Gilhooly of Falmouth; Tony and Sue Byrne of Buffalo, NY; and Nick and Judy Byrne of Dedham and Falmouth; she leaves twenty grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren who had the blessed good fortune of having “Nanny” in their lives and will love and remember her forever.  Corine also loved and was loved by her late sister Gloria Rino Zaccardi  and her late brother Joey Rino as well as many nieces nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth Church, 350 Reedsdale Road, Milton, Monday October 21 at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Monday 9 – 11 AM. Interment Milton Cemetery.

Beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine (Egan) Kelly. Theresa is survived by her sister Sr. Marguerite Kelly MFIC of Newton and 12 siblings in Ireland. Theresa retired from teaching at Saint Joseph Elementary School, Holbrook.

Dorothy J. (Dacey) Bosworth, of Milton, October 12, 2019.

Beloved wife of the late David A. Bosworth. Loving mother of Jane Mazzarella and her husband Joseph of Milton, Jacqueline Driscoll and her husband Paul of Milton, David A. Bosworth Jr. of Canton, Nancy Bosworth of Milton, and Charles Bosworth and wife Delphine of Westwood. Adored grandmother of Michael, Courtney, Kate, John, Zack, Jake, Isabelle, Elise, Charlotte, David and Peyton. Sister of the late Gertrude Chamberlain, Marion Hardy, Anne Henry, Gerard Dacey, John Dacey, Leonard Dacey and William Dacey. Sister-in-law of Diane Dacey. Dorothy is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Thomas “Loke” M. Miller

Thomas M. Miller, 71, of East Taunton formerly of Brockton passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2019.

Born in Winfall, North Carolina on June 15, 1948 to the late Deautry Riddick and Ethel Miller.

Thomas received his education in Perquiman County Union School System in Winfall, NC. He enlisted in the United States Army on January 24, 1968 and proudly served is country during the Vietnam War.

Later in life he met and married his one true love, Carla. Together the shared many years together.

Thomas worked for Raytheon for many years as a cable maker. He was an avid New York Giants fan. Thomas enjoyed spending time we those dear to his heart.

Beloved husband of Carla (Ensley) Miller. Loving father of Troy Miller, Freda Miller, Tameisha Ensley, Marquis Ensley, Maurice Williams and Janee Williams. Brother of James Riddick and his wife Virgie and Robert Miller and his wife Marissa. Grandfather of 8 cherished grandchildren. Thomas also leaves behind a host of niece, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by 10 of his siblings, Margaret “Arlene” White, Isabella Riddick, William I. Miller, Thomas M. Miller, Roger Riddick, Johnny Ray Miller, Odessa Hurdle, George Miller, Sgt. Ottis Miller, and Ernest (Bryant) Miller.

Eril Ligonde

Eril Ligondé, “Nenel, as he was known to family and close friends passed away on September 28, 2019.

Eril was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti on December 13, 1967, to Fenel Ligondé and Micheline Ligondé.  He lived in Haiti with his Grandma Vava during his formative years. At the age of 13 Eril came to the States to be with his mom and dad and three siblings. He was the proverbial middle child.

While in Boston, he attended English high school. After graduation, Eril explored many career pursuits including pharmacy technician, volunteer fireman, and correctional officer. He eventually found his calling at the Middlesex County Sherriff’s Office where he worked hard and was eventually promoted to Captain. Eril was highly regarded and loved in his community of Lowell where he resided for over 25 years.

Eril was outwardly quiet and reserved, to those not familiar with him. However, among his inner circle, he was known for his hilarious antics and comedy. Eril had a fantastic wit; he enjoyed keeping everyone laughing.  He loved life and was not afraid of hard work. He had a passion for home improvement and spent many hours on “Do It Yourself” projects.

Eril was an intelligent, confident, and kind person who had the ability to engage and forge relationships with anyone. He had a wonderful smile that would light up a room. Eril enjoyed helping others, whether it was using his expertise to fix computers, or working on a home improvement project, he was generous with his talents. 

Above all, Eril loved his family. His children were by far his proudest achievement. He loved his son Ariel, and cherished his daughter Tatiana. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye, as well as his dear mother, sister and brothers.

Eril is survived by his son, Ariel R. Ligondé of Lynn, and daughter Tatiana Ligondé of Lowell; his step children, Breanna Rowlette and Jordan Rowlette of Lowell; his mother, Micheline E. Ligondé of Boston; his grandchildren, Leo Reinoso of Lynn, Kyrie & Noah Ligondé of Lowell; his brothers Emmanuel Ernest and wife Karine Ernest of Milton and Fenel Ligondé Jr. of Boston; his sister Dr. Myrna Chévry-César of Atlanta; His nephews: Justin Ernest, Malcolm César,  Christian Ernest, Benjamin Ernest; his uncle Gerard Pierre; his aunts, Mona Ligondé, Marie Nirva Ligondé, and Gladys Pierre; his cousins Wilhelminda Péralte, Florence Pierre Toussaint, Sagine & Jehnnah Louis along with countless family members and friends.

Eril was preceded in death by his father Fenel Ligondé, and his grandmother Marie Yrva Ernest.

The Achille, Ernest, César, Germain, Larosilière, Lefèvre, Péralte, Pierre, Reinoso, and Toussaint families are painfully touched and deeply saddened by Eril’s passing.

Nenel we will miss you and cherish our memories of you forever in our hearts.

Paul V. Lyons

Paul V. Lyons, 80, died at home in Milton, Monday October 7, 2019, surrounded by his family.

Born and raised in Dorchester, he was a graduate of Boston College High School and Boston College. He earned his MBA from New York University before attending Suffolk University Law School. After earning his law degree, he worked for five years at the National Labor Relations Board. Paul was a partner at the law firm of Foley Hoag for over thirty years. He served as General Counsel and Vice President at Suffolk University before retiring.

Paul was the beloved husband of the late Elaine M. (Hurley) Lyons. Loving father of Judith Lyons of Quincy, Maureen Trowbridge and her husband Peter of Burlington, Paula Small and her husband Matthew of South Boston, and Joseph Lyons and his wife Kristen of Houston, Texas. Cherished grandfather of Peter, William and Caroline Trowbridge, Audrey, Jack and Grace Lyons, and Kathleen Small. Son of the late Joseph and Doris (Griffin) Lyons. Brother of Robert Lyons and his late wife Virginia.  Brother-in-law of Marie Fitzpatrick and her late husband Edward.  Nephew of Dorothy Connors. Paul is also survived by nephews Edward Fitzpatrick Jr. and William Fitzpatrick and their wonderful families.  Paul was a U.S. Army Veteran.
