Jeanne D. (Acker) Grande

Jeanne D. (Acker) Grande, of Quincy, died at her home on August 21, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph S. Grande. Loving daughter of Lawrence N. Acker of Humarock and the late Helen (Dee) Acker. Cherished mother of Valerie Grande and her partner Ann Noble of North Weymouth, Laura Grande and her husband Patrick Kilduff of Boston, formerly of Quincy,  and A. Joelle Baehrend and her husband Jeff of Boston, formerly of Quincy. Also survived by her grandchildren, Audrey Baehrend and Joseph Kilduff. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock Street, Quincy on Friday, August 26 at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. James M. Gibbons

James M. Gibbons, of Dorchester and Mashpee, passed away peacefully, Friday August 19, 2011.  Born and raised in Dorchester, Mr. Gibbons was a longtime employee of the Boston Public School System, and a self employed carpenter for much of his life, most recently with Camco Construction of Mashpee.  He proudly served his country with the Naval Construction Battalion (SeaBees) with tours in Cuba and Puerto Rico.  He was also a lifetime member of the Old Dorchester Post No. 65.  An avid Red Sox fan, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He is survived  by his daughter Christine Mascolo and her husband Ben of Arlington, his sister Catherine LoPresti and her husband Anthony of CT, Alice DiMaggio of Mashpee and his brother Edward and his wife Marilyn of Dorchester.  He is predeceased by his sister the late Ann DiMaggio of Milford.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones and friends.  Visitation on Wednesday, August 24 from 4:00 -8:00 PM with a funeral service starting at 7:00 PM, both at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., MILTON.  Relatives and friends respectfully invited.  Interment private.

Josephine R. Ferruggio

Josephine R. Ferruggio, of Milton, formerly of South Boston, Friday August 19, 2011. Daughter of the late Guiseppe and Antonia (Margarona) Ferruggio. Sister of the late Anna Grace Ferruggio and the late John J. Ferruggio. Survived by sister-in-law, Susan C. Ferruggio of Milton and nieces, JoAnn Kerzel of Westwood, Lisa DeLuca of Milton and Donna Lee York of Andover. Also survived by grandnieces and nephews; Alicia and Katherine DeLuca, Chase and Adam Kerzel, Taylor and Jillian York. Christine E. Doyle

Christine E. Doyle, 34, of Milton, died at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston on August 17, 2011. Christine was a graduate of Saint Gregory School in Dorchester and Fontbonne Academy in Milton. She was employed as an Adminsitrative Assistant at Sentient Jet in Weymouth. Beloved daughter of Dennis P. and Eileen (Ryan) Doyle of Milton. Sister of Jennifer M. Doyle of South Boston and Timothy R. Doyle of Milton. Niece of Barbara Doyle of Dorchester, Ann and Jack Doyle of South Boston, Janet and Ming Chin of Duxbury and Nancy Ryan of Sterling, MA. Also survived by many cousins and extended family and friends including her best friend, Breda Healy and her family. Beloved granddaughter of the late Mabel Doyle. Carleen Coyle McCastor

Carleen Coyle McCastor, of Pinellas Park, FL, passed away suddenly in the early morning hours on June 30, 2011. She had just reached the young age of 76. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Bernice Coyle, her husbands James T. McCaster & Darl Hart, her daughter Robin A. Christo; her brothers Wilson and Wallace Coyle and her companion Sal Cusenza. Carleen is survived by her children Jim (Laurie) McCastor of Camillus, NY and Steven (Chong) of San Antonio, TX, her six grandchildren and her brothers Robert Coyle of Athol, MA & Ronald Coyle of San Antonio, TX. A Memorial Service and Celebration of her Life is planned for Saturday, August 20 at 1:00PM with visiting hours 11:00AM-1:00PM prior to the service at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave. MILTON. Jumithe Petiote Bazile

Jumith Petiote Bazile was known by many as “Madam Be” and was affectionately nicknamed “Man Be” by her friends. She was the daughter of Priscilla Bazile and Merat Petiote. Jumith was the last remaining child of their eight children.

 Jumith was born on November 26, 1915 in the town of Bainet, which is near Jacmel in the South-East “department”, or region, in Haiti. In 1944, she married her beloved late husband Jean Alberoi Bazile and they were married for 60 years. By that union, she was blessed with eight loving children: Pauline, (late) Pierre, Marie Lourdes, Phanel, Erbe, Mirtho, Sylvie and Solange; as well as 19 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

 Jumith’s commitment to her family was unconditional which was evident in the way she cared for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her journey started in 1974 when she arrived in the U.S. and lived in the following states: New York, Massachusetts and Florida. Then in 2000, she returned to Massachusetts where she made it her (final) permanent residence. 

 She loved singing, dancing, cooking delicious meals for family and friends, and telling stories. Jumith touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and she had a delightful sense of humor.

 Her life came to an end at the age of 95 on August 8, 2011, where she passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving children. She was much loved by her family who will miss her until the day they all meet again with Christ in Eternity.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Angela Church, Mattapan on Saturday, August 20 at 10:00AM. Interment Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Friday 6-9PM.

Gary M. Coe, Sr.

 

Gary M. Coe, Sr., of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, died unexpectedly on August 13, 2011. A Veteran of the US Army, Gary worked as a Laborer for Local #22.  Father of Gary M. Coe, Jr., of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester. Son of Richard J. Coe, Sr. of New Hampshire and Lorraine (Downey) Coe of Milton.  Brother of Richard J. Coe, Jr. and his wife Marion of Abington, Deborah Tobin of Marshfield, Brian Coe and his wife Paula of Braintree, Mary Ellen D’Angelo  and her husband Mark of Framingham and John Coe and Christina Preisser of Dorchester. Grandfather of Abigail Coe.  Nephew of John Downey, Jr. and Jeanne Downey.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews, including his special pal, Matthew Coe. Moses L. Robinson

Moses L. Robinson, of Mattapan, died at Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Brighton on August 13, 2011. A retired Master Sergeant in the US Air Force, Moses worked in the Maintenance Department at Boston Edison. Beloved husband of Ellie (Johnson) Robinson. Father of Yvonne Henley, Keith Robinson , Russell Robinson and the late Susan Robinson. Brian J. Macdonald

Brian J. Macdonald, died suddenly Thursday August 11, 2011. He was 54 years old. Born and raised in Milton, Brian was a graduate of Milton High School, Class of 1976, where he excelled in football, hockey and baseball. He was an avid Boston sports fan and completed two Boston Marathons and one New York City Marathan. Brian was a longtime realtor on the South Shore. Beloved son of the late Paul L. and Claire (Ristuccia) Macdonald. Brother of Paul J. Macdonald of Somerville, Barry S. and his wife Ann (Foley) Macdonald of Braintree, Cathy and her husband Michael Downes of Easton and Susan and her husband Bill Hankard of Milton.
