Linda M. (Brennan) Finneran

Linda Marie (Brennan) Finneran, of Milton, died after a brief illness, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Wednesday October 12, 2011. She was 66 years old. Born in Boston and raised in Milton, she was a graduate of Fontbonne Academy and Aquinas College, both in Milton. Linda was a retired classified advertising employee at the Boston Globe, where she worked for over 22 years. She enjoyed the beach, Cape Cod and the local sports teams. Devoted mother of Christopher and his wife Patricia Finneran of Quincy, Mary E. Finneran, Suzanne and her husband David Bridges and Michael Finneran, all of Dorchester. Loving and cherished Nana of Brendan, MaryKate and Christopher Finneran Jr. and Kate and Emma Bridges. Sister of Charles and his wife Diane Brennan of Sag Harbor, NY and Paul and his wife Alice Brennan of Shrewsbury. Loving daughter of the late Luke and Agnes Brennan and daughter-in-law of the late Mary Finneran. Linda is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially her best friend Marjorie Hirl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Adams Street at Brook Road, Milton, Tuesday October 18 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Kevin J. Lynch

Kevin J. Lynch, a devoted husband, father and friend, died at his home in Milton, Wednesday October 12, 2011. He was 58 years old. Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester, he was a graduate of Boston English High School. Kevin was a retired laborer with the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. A Past Grand Knight of Milton Council 2749 of the Knights of Columbus he was also a member of the Cardinal Cushing Assembly 4th Degree of Quincy. Kevin’s three children were the light of his life, “the greatest gifts he received”. Beloved husband of over 29 years to Debbie (Romes) Lynch. Loving and cherished father of Christine M. Lynch, Caitlin M. Lynch and Michael J. Lynch, all of Milton. Son of the late George J. Lynch Sr. and Catherine V. (Maloney) Lynch. Brother of Catherine A. Shea of Milton and the late Janet C. Lynch and George J. Lynch, Jr. Brother-in-law of Margaret A. Lynch and her husband Joseph Pacheco of Abington and Frank Shea of Milton. Son-in-law of Joanne Romes. Brother-in-law of Stephanie Waltjen, Chantal Monet, Jennifer Romes Rush and the late Jennie Romes, Joseph Romes and grandson-in-law of the late Forest Burris. Maria Eduara Barros

Maria Eduara Barros, a retired employee at The Polaroid Corporation, died at her home in Dorchester, Thursday October 6,2011. She was 83 years old. Beloved wife of the late Manuel S. Barros. Loving mother of Manuel Barros, Ines Evora, Antonio Barros, Fausto Barros, Senhornia Da-Silva, Jose Barros, Maria Cortez, Benvindo Barros, Antonio Severino and the late Adriano Barros and Paulo Barros. Sister of Maria DaLuz Santos. Maria is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Peter’s Church, 311 Bowdoin Street, Dorchester, Thursday October 13 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Agnes B. (Connell) Colpoys

Agnes B. (Connell) Colpoys, a resident of Milton, died suddenly on October 8, 2011. She was the loving wife of 59 years of the late Francis L. Colpoys, M.D. and the devoted mother of Mary-Edwina Colpoys, M.D. of Watertown, Francis L. Colpoys, Jr., Esq. and his wife Margaret of Scituate and Andrew G. Colpoys of Milton.  Also she was the cherished grandmother of Kathleen and John Colpoys of Scituate.  Agnes is also survived by her brother, Rev. Msgr. Andrew F. Connell of Marshfield. 

            Agnes grew up in West Roxburyand Newton, Massachusetts and graduated from Notre Dame Academy, Regis College and received her Masters in Education from Boston University.  She was an elementary school teacher in Everett and Brookline.  After her marriage to Dr. Colpoys, Agnes and her family moved to Dorchester and then Milton where she resided for the last 54 years until her death.  She spent over 30 years as a summer resident of Scituate.   

            Agnes was a devoted volunteer and assumed leadership roles in numerous organizations and institutions, including the alumni associations of Notre Dame Academy and Regis College, League of Catholic Women and Milton-Dorchester Physicians’ Wives Club.  She was a member of the Scituate Harbor Yacht Club and Wollaston Golf Club.  Agnes was a very active and devoted parishioner at St. Mary of the Hills Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Hills Church, 29 St. Mary’s Road, Milton, Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.  Relatives and friends invited.  Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON, Tuesday 4-8 p.m.  Interment, Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.

Eunide (Andre) Auguste

Eunide (Andre) Auguste died at Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton, Sunday September 25, 2011. She was 63 years old. Beloved wife of Raymond Auguste. Loving mother of Sophia Auguste of Brockto, Woloy Auguste of New York and Mondy Auguste of Brockton. Marie A. (Archer) Blaser

Marie A. (Archer) Blaser, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at the age of 90.  Born in Boston on June 23, 1921, Marie was the daughter of the late Matthew and Anna Archer.  She was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of Girls High School.

Marie worked at the Braman Dow Company in Boston until her marriage to Charles L. Blaser on June 7, 1947.  They spent 61 years together raising their family and she was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, and great grandma.

She was a long-time member of St. Mary School’s Mother’s Guild and the St. Mary Church Sodality in West Quincy.  Marie also enjoyed bowling and was a member of several leagues.

Beloved wife of the late Charles L. Blaser, Marie is survived by her loving children:  Annmarie Madden of Marshfield; John and his wife Lucia of Hanson; Mary and her husband Paul of Abington; Stephen and his wife Martha of Brownfield, ME; and Paul and his wife Mary Jane of Quincy.  She was also the loving sister of Eleanor M. Archer of Quincy and the late Francis X. Archer of Canton.

Marie leaves 13 cherished grandchildren:  Elizabeth and Matthew Madden; Catherine, Kristin, and Jeffrey Blaser; Paul, Christopher, and Michael Lavoie; Lynn, Stephanie, and Candace Thompson; and Paul and Shannon Blaser.  She is also survived by one great-grandson, Zachary Charles Kolacz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, October 7 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, Milton, MA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, West Quincy on Saturday, October 8, at 10 a.m. followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Oliver G. “Biff” Kelley

Oliver G. “Biff” Kelley, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, Wednesday September 28, 2011.  He was 74 years old. Born in Buffalo, New York and raised in Newton and Scituate, he was a graduate of LaSalle Military Academy, Long Island, NY and Boston College. Mr. Kelley was an independent insurance broker, currently with Charles F. Murphy Insurance, Braintree. An avid golfer, he was a past president of the Massachusetts Golf Association and member of the Milton Hoosic Club. Beloved husband of Patricia M.(Graham) Kelley. Loving father of Oliver Jr. of Quincy, Katherine Elizabeth and her husband Kenneth Whalley of Topsfield, Pamela of Hingham, Juliann and her husband Patrick Concannon of Scituate and Jennifer and her husband Timothy Drain of Mansfield. Joseph G. Murphy, Esq.

 

Joseph G. Murphy, Esq., a retired attorney, died surrounded by his loving family at his home in Milton, Tuesday September 27, 2011. Joe was 86 years old. Born and raised in Jamaica Plain, he was a graduate of Boston Latin, University of Virginia and Boston University Law School. Mr. Murphy participated in the V-12 program at the University of Virginia and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired in1988 as Deputy General Counsel for the MBTA, where he worked for 23 years. A voracious reader and faithful Boston sports fan, Joe was an avid photographer and loved to play golf. Beloved husband of the late Mary Teresa (Keaney). Cherished father of Mark F. Esq. and his wife Patricia (Jones) of Wellesley, Marybeth Pepin and her husband Stephen of Milton, Brian P. Esq. and his wife Katherine (Champion) of Cambridge and the late Joseph G. Murphy Jr. of Milton. Beloved father-in-law of Mary (Walsh) Murphy of Milton. Richard T. “Dick” Garvey

Richard T. “Dick” Garvey, 64, of Braintree, late owner of Garvey Oldsmobile, Norwell and Columbia Buick, Hanover,  died on September 25, 2011. Mr. Garvey served in the US Army Reserves. He was a member of the Metropolitan Yacht Club, Braintree.  He was the beloved husband of  Phyllis J. (McLaughlin) Garvey of  Braintree. Father of Thomas R. Garvey and his wife, Ruth, of Braintree and Ross M. Garvey  and his wife, Kari, of Mendon. Brother of Joanne K. Manning of Norwell and Patricia Bennett of Virginia. Joan (Easler) Gouthro of Boston, died on September 22, 2011.  Daughter of the late Perley & Dorothy (Johnson) Easler.  Loving mother of Sharon Gouthro & her spouse Lisa Palingo of Mattapan and John R. Gouthro & his companion Wendy of Brockton.  Sister of June Fish & her husband Thomas of Stoughton, Lucretia Easler of E.
