Alberta W. (Swan) Sawyer

Alberta W. (Swan) Sawyer died at Colonial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Weymouth, Sunday November 30, 2014. She was 97 years old. Born in Randolph, she lived most of life as a resident of Milton. She graduated from Milton High School and New England School of Art. She was a lifelong and devoted member of First Congregational Church, Milton. Wife of the late George G. “Bud” Sawyer. Sister of Janette Swan of Milton and Priscilla M. Schuster of MO. Daughter of the late Albert W. and Wilma J. (Mann) Swan. Relatives and friends are invited to graveside service at Milton Cemetery, 211 Centre Street, Milton, Thursday December 4, 2014 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of Council on Aging, 10 Walnut Street, Milton, MA  02186.

Virginia F. “Gini” (Youngclaus) Smith

Smith, Virginia F. (Youngclaus), 73, longtime resident of Cohasset, passed peacefully on November 28, 2014, surrounded by her family.

“Gini”, the beloved and cherished wife of Kent of Cohasset and loving Mother to her family, James of East Bridgewater, Jeanne and Patrick Murray of HI and RI, Lauren and Frank Giglio of Chilmark, MV, Stephen and Meredith Smith of West Hartford, CT, and Carin of Plymouth, loved and adored her grandchildren Benjamin, Cali Grace, Samantha, Emelia and Cayleigh.

Gini was kind, generous and full of love for her family and friends.  Born in Dorchester to Marion and Arthur Youngclaus, she was a caring and loving sister to her brother Joseph.  She married Kent in 1960 and they raised their family in Cohasset, MA.

A beautiful soul, Gini loved fashion, dancing, music and cooking. After graduating high school, she was an administrator for the Navy and later took time to love and raise her family.  Subsequently, she served as an administrator for several security and engineering firms.

Gini loved her show tunes, Neil Diamond, and Anthony Newly. She participated in Hingham’s “Cabaret” for several years.

She loved animals, especially her cherished dogs “Licorice” and “Pebbles”, and gave graciously to the MSPCA.  Her compassion and generosity also supported the charities of St. Jude and The Wounded Warrior Fund.

Her support and love will be missed by all.

Special thanks to the Nurses and Staff at MICU South Shore Hospital for the comfort and care provided to Gini.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Gini on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 10 a.m., St. Anthony’s Parish, 129 South Main St, Cohasset, MA.  Memorial donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Fund  P.O. Daniel J. Crowley

Daniel J. Crowley of Milton formerly of Cork, Ireland passed away on November 24, 2014.  Daniel is survived by his loving sisters Julia J. “Ena” Crowley and Eileen M. Crowley both of Milton. Daniel is also survived by his loving grandniece and grandnephews.  He was a devoted friend of the Columban Sisters of Brighton. Daniel was predeceased by his brother Patrick E. Crowley and his sister Catherine Sheppard.    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton on Wednesday at 9 AM.  Relatives and friends kindly invited.  A visiting hour will be held prior to the funeral mass at the Dolan & Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Avenue, MILTON VILLAGE from  8 AM to 8:45 AM.  Interment Milton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers a donation in Daniel’s name can be made to Saint Agatha’s Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton, MA 02186.

Norma V. Mason

Norma V. (Hill)  Mason, of Haverhill, died Friday, November 14, 2014, surrounded by her family.  Born in San Juan , Puerto Rico  was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Wade) Hill.  Before her retirement, Norma was a  environmental specialist with The Environmental Protection Agency.

She is the loving mother of Carleton Mason of Somerville, Robert Mason of Haverhill, Tiffany Mason of Hyde Park and Taisha Walker of New York.  Also survived by a brother Joseph Hill and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday,  November 21 at 11:00 AM at Eliot Congregational Church 56 Dale St. Roxbury, with visitation at church 10-11 AM.  Relatives and friends invited. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery .  Visiting hours,  Thursday, November 20, 4-8 PM in Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St.  DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS.

Caring grandfather of Jovan Jean-Louis, Joel Saint-Eloi, Janelle Saint-Eloi, Jordane Saint-Eloi, Jalene Saint-Eloi, and Jasmine  Jean-Louis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Angela Church Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 1PM. Philip C. Manker, Jr.

Philip C.. Manker,  Jr., 64, of Milton, MA , died Saturday, November 8th after a long illness.  He leaves his wife Ulrike, his daughter Katrina, his son Lorenz, his brother Charles Manker (Susan), his nephews Stephen and Gregory Manker and many devoted friends.  Philip attend Latin School of Chicago, Middlesex School and Trinity College. He was an applied artist, inventor and arborist.  A  memorial service will be held at his home on  Saturday, November 22, from 5:00 PM to 8:00
PM. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
