Ann Scheffler

Ann Bisbee Scheffler of Milton, passed away on June 23, 2017 at home surrounded by loved ones. Ann, the devoted first daughter of Ethan and the late Mary Susan Bisbee, was born December 3, 1957.

Ann was a native of Milton, where she would later return to raise a family of her own with her beloved husband, Edward Scheffler. She was the joyful mother of Ted and Ethan Scheffler. Ann fought very hard to stay with them and will always guide their hearts. She leaves her younger sister Elizabeth and brother Fred, several in-laws, nieces and nephews. Ann also leaves a host of cousins, aunts and uncles, and many, many kind, loyal friends.

Ann graduated high school from Milton Academy in 1976 and went on to attend Smith College, graduating in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She served in various roles at Jordan Marsh, Milton Academy, and Walnut Hill School for the Arts before retiring in 2016 to focus on her ongoing battles with cancer through the compassionate help of the oncology staff at Dana Farber.

Ann had the good sense to marry a man who shared the same love for music as she did. A talented pianist since childhood, Ann had a wide ranging taste in music. Eddie and “Ann Dear” spent countless nights seeing their favorite artists perform live, and enjoyed many mornings relaxing with a coffee and a thoughtfully chosen album playing.

Ann had a love for life and for travel, all of which she would chronicle in word and in pictures along her journey. The many scrapbooks in which she skillfully documented family, travel, friends, and memories will be cherished by her family for years to come. Her love for travel likely stemmed from a 1974 Bisbee family sabbatical to England. She would return to Europe many more times throughout her life, including a 2016 trip generously gifted by her loving cousins.

A celebration of Ann’s life will be held Saturday, July 8th, from 1-4 pm at the Milton Academy Chapel in Milton, MA with a gathering from 1:30-3 pm and a service in her memory from 3-4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute or to a cause close to your heart.
