Anne E. Sullivan

Ms. Anne E. Sullivan, of South Boston, passed away on December 28, 2018 in Milton, Massachusetts at age 51.

Anne was born on July 20, 1967 to Katherine L. Sullivan and the late John E. Sullivan. She was born and raised in Hamilton, Massachusetts and graduated from Providence College.

Anne is survived by her sister Kathy and Brian Maher; and brothers, Chris and Lisa Sullivan, Tim and Ellie Sullivan, and Sean and Jenn Sullivan.  She is also survived by her 8 beloved nieces and nephews, Jack, Ben and Bryanna Maher, Elaine and Teddy Sullivan, Kate and Tim Sullivan, and Elle Sullivan.

Anne had a life-long passion for art and design which first drew her to work at the Museum of Fine Arts after graduating from Providence College with a degree in art history.   Later, Anne decided to further her pursuit of creativity by earning a degree in architecture.  She first combined her love of museums and architecture at the firm of Verner Johnson which specializes in museum architecture.  Anne later moved to her current firm of Bargmann Hendrie + Archetype, Inc. to expand into housing and commercial design.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Church of Saint Paul, 50 Union Street, Hamilton, Wednesday, January 2nd @ 10:30 AM.  Family and friends invited.  Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Tuesday from 2-6 PM.  Interment Hamilton Cemetery.

Robert Lee Samuels

Robert Lee Samuels, 67, of Milton, died December 24, 2018 with his loving family by his side.

A Funeral Service with be celebrated at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Monday, December 31st at 10:00 AM.  Family and friends invited.  A visiting hour with be held from 9-10 AM before the service.  Interment Fairview Cemetery.

Edwina C. Karalekas

Edwina C. Karalekas, of Milton and Harwich Port, passed away peacefully on December 22nd surrounded by her family.  Beloved wife of the late George Karalekas, loving mother to Charles and his wife  Sharon of South Elgin, IL, Janet Poirier and her husband Richard of Middleborough, Joanne Kelly and her husband Kevin of Weymouth, Lisa Lynch of Plymouth, the late James Karalekas of Homewood, IL, and Lee Ann Karalekas of Milton.  Daughter of the late Edward Beckwith and the late Irene Mazzucchelli.  Sister of the late Barbara Stanton, Valerie Gillis, the late William Mazzucchelli, Margaret Sinisalo, and Louis Mazzucchelli.  Sister-in-law to Elaine Doyle.  Cherished “Nana” to 12 grandchildren.  Loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Edwina’s “heaven on earth” was her home in Harwich Port where she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her extended family and friends.

Giselle Cantave

Giselle Cantave  of Milton, died on December 22, 2018 surrounded by her family.  Beloved wife of Anthony Cantave of Milton.  Loving mother of Reginald Fernelus of Milton, Gaway Cantave of Carver, Ned Cantave and Winnie Cantave both of Milton, Emmanuel Mercier of New Jersey and Teresa Adonis of Avon.  Sister of Tony Salomon of Haiti, Stephanie Salomon of Paris, France and Nenette Salomon of Chile.   Cherished grandmother of 8 grandchildren.

Giselle was born and raised in Port Au Prince, Haiti.  She worked many years for Boston Financial Data Services.  Giselle was known by many family and friends both in Haiti and America as the “Mother of Life”.  She was a selfless person, a healer and a true giver to all people near and far.  She loved taking trips to Twin River Casino and always sharing her winnings with her family and friends.  Most of all Giselle loved her family, caring for them was her greatest pleasure. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to attend Viewing on Saturday January 5, 2019 from 9:00am-10:00am in Saint Angela Church, Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan.  A Mass of Christion Burial will follow at 10:00am in Saint Angela Church.   Cremation to Follow.

Michael T. Pass

Michael T. Pass Ret. B.F.D of Dorchester died on December 19, 2018.  Beloved husband of Linda Richardson-Pass of Dorchester. Devoted father of Tarajee Pass and Anthony Richardson both of Boston.  Brother of Charles E. Gilcrest Jr. and Myra E. Gilcrest of Boston and the late Ronald J. Rankin and Victor L. Gilcrest.  Cherished grandfather of Eric Pass, Anthony Richardson Jr. and Malik Pass.  Michael is also survived by a host of nieces, Nephews and cousins.

Michael was a dedicated Firefighter for Boston Fire Department for over 25 years before retiring.  He was an avid sportsman; he played golf, tennis and basketball.  Michael was a member if the Franklin Park Golf Club and the Franklin Field Tennis Club.  Most of all Michael loved his family who were  the most important aspect of his life.  He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation on Friday December 28, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 in Grace Church of all Nations, 33 Elm Hill Avenue, Dorchester.  Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am in Grace Church of all Nations.  Interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Mattapan.

Edward “Ted” Broderick, Jr.

Edward (Ted) Broderick, of Quincy.  loyal friend, loving brother and uncle and “golfer extraordinaire”, died unexpectedly on December 16, 2018. He was 65. Born in Quincy Mass on February 22, 1953 to Ed and Helen (Shortle) Broderick, he was raised in Milton and lived there most of his life.He attended Milton High School,New Prep and Boston College. He was self employed as a real estate appraiser.He is survived by his sister Lisa McCabe (Don), nephew Ryan McCabe and great nephew Bradly McCabe all from Norwich, Vermont. Nephew Colin McCabe (Ashley) and great nephews Finn and Damian from Bethesda, Maryland. Aunt Mary Edmonds from Cohasset, Ma and several cousins.

 

Visiting hours Saturday January 12, 2018 2-4PM in the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, East Milton, followed by a reception for friends and family at the Common Market,110 Willard St in Quincy, Ma at 5:00 pm.  A private burial will occur in the spring at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Ted.

Pauline L. (Laurent) Loiseau

Pauline L. ( Laurent) Loiseau, 87, of Boston passed away on December 15, 2018. Born in Petion-Ville, Haiti to the late Damestoir and Natalie (Jerome) Laurent. She was a caring sister to five other siblings (4 deceased), and still living is Lyla Paul, she also was an aunt to a numerous amount of nieces and nephews. Pauline was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin A. Loiseau, of whom were the parents to Chantal Loiseau and Ralph Loiseau of Dorchester. She was cherished by her grandchildren, Steven Lezin, Jessica Loiseau, Najlah Lezin, and Ralph Loiseau Jr. and great grandchildren, Makai K. Lezin and Ari’Yahu Jean Simon.

 The wake will be on Friday December 21st at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave, East Milton, from 6-9 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Matthew Church, 33 Stanton Street, Boston, Saturday, December 22nd at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. The Burial will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Anna Sullivan Paris, of Dorchester, December 17, 2018.

Beloved wife of the late Walter E. Paris Jr. Loving mother of Kathleen P. and her husband Wes Kotowski of Dorchester. Cherished Mimi of Lisa and her husband Michael Fahy, Katie and her husband Owen McCosker, Amy Kotowski and her fiancé Diarmaid McGregor, all of Milton and the late Danny Kotowski. Great-grandmother of Fiona and Pierce Fahy and Grace, Sophie and Corey McCosker. Sister of Theresa Doherty, Sheila Laubinger, Robert Sullivan, Deborah Sullivan, Barbara Connearney and the late Kathleen Flynn, James Sullivan, John Sullivan, Paul Sullivan, Mary Sullivan, Timothy Sullivan and Patricia Sullivan. Anna is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Gregory Church, 2223 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Friday December 21 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Sarah “Sally” (Evans) Courtney

Sarah “Sally” (Evans) Courtney, of Quincy, MA, formerly of Shanakeale, Castlemaine, County Kerry, Ireland, passed away on December 16th, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Sally is reunited with her loving husband of 24 years, Joseph “Joe” Courtney. She was a devoted mother to Mary Courtney-O’Sullivan and her husband James, of Quincy; Carol Sheehan, and her husband Maurice, of Norton; and her late infant daughter, Katherine Mary. Sally fiercely loved and adored her six grandchildren: Joseph, Michael and Deirdre Sheehan; and Maeve, Siobhan and Declan O’Sullivan. Sally was the youngest of five siblings born to Mary and George Evans in Castlemaine, County Kerry, Ireland. She leaves behind her brothers: John “Jackie” Evans and his wife Bridie, of Castlemaine, County Kerry, Ireland, and Timothy Evans and his wife Nora, of Braintree. She joins both of her sisters: the late Julia “Sheila” Daly, and her husband Michael, of West Roxbury, and the late Mary “Maureen” Finn and her husband James Finn, Annascaul, County Kerry, Ireland. Sally is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and godchildren, who were all very dear to her in life. She also leaves behind extended family and many cherished friends.

Sally was a dedicated employee of John Hancock for 40 years.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Sally’s life by gathering at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Thursday December 20th from 4 PM – 8 PM, with a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock Street, North Quincy, Friday December 21st at 10:30 AM. Interment at New Cavalry Cemetery.

Christa L. Guerrier

Christa L. (Lombard) Guerrier of Dorchester, died peacefully on Monday, December 10, 2018, at her home in the company of her loving family. She was the beloved wife of 48 years to Edner Pierre Guerrier, loving mother of Ernst Guerrier and his wife Marie Flore Guerrier of Canton, Marie Viviane Guerrier of Milton, and Elizabeth Guerrier of Rockland.  Christa was the cherished grandmother of Mandel Chris Guerrier-Roberson, Christa Hope Guerrier, Ernst Myles Guerrier, Austin Pierre Clark, Marcus Jackson Guerrier-Roberson, and Chrystian Lee Brazao. She leaves behind two step-daughters, Catherine Guerrier, of Connecticut and Adonis Milano, of Boston. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Thercilise Degan and Wilner Lombard.  Christa leaves a host of friends and extended family including her sister, Yolene Lombard Dejean, of Hyde-Park and her brother Maurice Degan, of Haiti; her nieces, Chrislene Dejean, Maureen Azor, Anastasia Denise Azor, Tracey Azor, Marsha Foster, Clyva English, and Neddra English; her nephews, Hugens Dejean, Irving Azor, Exantus Azor and Marcus Azor; her cousin, Antoine Blain of New York; and lifelong friends, Marie English, of Waltham and Jacques Alce, of Florida and Jean Louis Senatus of Haiti.

 

Christa grew up in Jeremy, Haiti, where she developed a passion for caring for others.   It was there in Haiti, where she met the love of her life, Edner P. Guerrier, whom she later married on June 18, 1970, and migrated to Boston in 1975.  The couple settled in Mattapan, Massachusetts where they raised their three (3) children, making lifelong friends in Mattapan and its surrounding communities.  Christa worked at the Metropolitan State Hospital and Massachusetts Mental Health Hospital before retiring in 2005. She was an active member of the prayer group at Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Roxbury, MA.  Christa enjoyed her life to the fullest and made the best of every moment granted to her. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
