Eileen Kieran Miller, 72, of Vero Beach, Florida and North Weymouth, MA, formerly of Milton, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2019 surrounded by her family.

Born in Norwalk, CT on January 22, 1947 to her loving parents, John V. and Lucy (Hall) Kieran, Eileen and her identical twin sister, Elaine, were the youngest of four children.

She graduated from Central Catholic High School in Norwalk, CT in 1965 before attending Cardinal Cushing College in Brookline, MA. After college, Eileen worked in Boston where she made lifelong and treasured friends.

In September of 1975, Eileen married Doug and together they settled in Reading, MA. They welcomed a daughter, Shannon, before moving to Coral Springs, FL where son Dougie completed their young family. They later moved to Milton, MA so they could be closer to family and friends in New England and Pennsylvania. Eileen and Doug moved to Vero Beach, FL where they eventually retired and made several great new friends and acquaintances. They continued to enjoy their summers in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Her greatest joy in life was spending time with and celebrating her children and, more recently, her “special little angels sent from up above”, granddaughters Ava and Allie. Eileen cherished the time they’ve all spent together as a family on Webster Lake in New Hampshire, and with extended family on Cape Cod each summer. 

Her exceptional love extended to her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as the children of family friends, many of whom considered her their “second mom.”

Eileen worked as a realtor for several years, and loved meeting new people and helping them find their forever homes. When a dear friend was diagnosed with cancer, Eileen left work to help with her care, often driving her to doctor’s appointments and simply enjoying their time together. 

Eileen’s own battle with cancer, which she fought courageously until the end, began in 2009. Her strong faith and spirituality, along with her desire to educate herself and others about various treatment options, were hallmarks of her journey. She touched the lives of many medical professionals and fellow patients she came in contact with along the way.

Beloved wife of Douglas Miller, loving mother of Shannon Miller of London, UK and Douglas Miller and his wife, Courtney, of Boston. Cherished grandmother of Ava and Allison Miller. Devoted sister of Mary Lou Bohn and her late husband, Larry, of Milford, CT; Elaine Gallery and her husband, Walter, of Milton; and the late Marge Munger and her husband, Dave, of Stamford, CT. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton, Tuesday, August 13 at 12 noon. All relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Monday 4 – 8 p.m. Interment private.

Jeanne G. (Wright)  Shea, died in Marian Manor, South Boston, August 8, 2019.

Jeanne was born in Dorchester and grew up in Rye, New York and Milton, Massachusetts.  She graduated from Framingham State College in 1945 with a degree in Home Economics.  Jeanne worked for Boston Gas Company and utilized her culinary skills to help others master the latest cooking technologies and trends. She lived in Milton before marrying and moving to Malden, where she and her husband Joe raised their four children.  Jeanne was a devout Catholic attending daily Mass and prayed the rosary regularly. She had a zest for life and loved being physically active and outdoors. She valued her daily routine, no matter the season, she was always on the move and being social – whether swimming at the beach, walking the neighborhood, hiking, playing tennis or her many days spent at the Y – Jeanne was always doing something active.  Her genuine appreciation of life’s simple pleasures will be missed.

The family would like to thank her dedicated and long time caregiver, Yvonne Caulfield, who treated Jeanne like family.  They would also like to thank the wonderful people at the Providence House in Brighton where she resided for 12 years, as well as the caring team at Marian Manor, particularly the nurses of 3 North. 

Jeanne was beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Shea. Devoted mother of Brendan Shea and his wife Lori of Needham, Patricia M. Shea, SNDdeN of Somerville, Geraldine Shea of Quincy and the late Barry J. Shea.  Grandmother of Ryan T. Shea of Jamaica Plain, Michaela E. Shea of Atlanta, GA, Meaghan M. Shea of Portland, OR, and Brianna M. Shea and Patrick J. Shea both of Attleboro. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Gregory’s Church, 2223 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Monday August 12 at 11:00 am. Visiting hour 10 – 11 am at the church. Interment Private.

Joyce Yvonne Stewart was born to the parents of Archie and Letitia Stewart (preceded in death) on August 5, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Joyce attended Boston Public schools and graduated from Girls High School.  She then went on to Boston Clerical Business School which landed her a job working for the Internal Revenue Service, where she worked until early retirement due to illness in 2001.

On June 16, 1960, Joyce married Lionel Selman and from that union four children were born. Lance (preceded in death), Tonya, Karen and Trent.

Prior to Joyce becoming ill, she was a member of St. Luke Christian Church in Dorchester, MA.  She remained there until she became a member of Mt. Pleasant Holiness Church where she was a faithful member until she was unable to attend regularly.  She worked vigorously in the church and helped many along the way.  Joyce always had a word or two, to give encouragement.  When Joyce was unable to speak clearly, her smile radiated the room and you knew she was smiling because of the Grace of God.   

Joyce departed this life on July 23, 2019 but will reign in Glory with her king when He comes back to claim his flock. 

Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Lance Selman (preceded in death) Tonya Selman (Robert), Karen Selman, Trent Stewart (Bethany), three grandchildren, Levern  Selman, Kayla Selman, and Christine Stewart, One great-grand son, Amair Lewis, two brothers, Arthur Stewart (Katherine), of Macon, North Carolina, Archie Stewart (Carol), of Chestnut Hill, MA, one sister, Sandra Stewart of Newton, MA, one nephew, Charles Stewart, of California, three nieces, Michelle Stewart, of Maryland, Kendra Conway (Ryan), of Newton, MA., and  Amy Edwards (Gregory), of Maryland, 4 great-nieces, and 4 great-nephews  and a host of adopted children, family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, on Friday, August 9 from 9-10am. Funeral Home Service to begin immediately after visitation.

Joan M. Downey, 87, of Centerville passed away peacefully on August 2, 2019.  Born in Somerville to the late John and Helen (Lane) Downey.  1 of 7 children, Joan is survived by her siblings Mary R. Downey of Centerville and Daniel F. Downey and his wife Marie of NH.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A visiting hour will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Friday, August 9^th from 11-12 PM.  Family and friends invited.  Graveside service to follow the visiting hour at North Cambridge Catholic Cemetery, 244 Rindge Avenue, Cambridge.

Kathleen M. (Shields) Lovett of Milton passed away peacefully on August 3, 2019 at the age of 75 following a battle with cancer.

Kathleen was born in Dorchester to the late William and Mary Shields.  She grew up in St. Mark’s Parish and, after marriage, moved to Milton in 1969.  She was the beloved wife of William R. Lovett and the loving mother of six children, William and his wife Kimberly of Franklin, Christopher and his wife Mary Lou of Abington, Maryellen Crosse and her husband Michael of Weymouth, Daniel and his wife Victoria, Patrick and his wife Deidre and Brendan and his wife Katie, all of Milton.  She was the proud nana of 19 grandchildren.  Kathleen was the sister of Joseph Shields and his wife Ruth of Walpole and John Shields and his wife Martha of Harwich as well as the late Elizabeth Shea and William Shields.  She was the sister-in-law of Joan Shields of Woburn.  She also leaves behind her cherished extended family, including many nieces and nephews.

Kathleen graduated from St. Mark’s School, Notre Dame Academy, Emmanuel College, and earned a Master’s Degree in Education at Boston State Teacher’s College.  For over fifty years, she was a devoted parishioner at St. Elizabeth Church and volunteer as a faith formation teacher, christian service committee member and choir member.  She was also active with the Milton Council on Aging, a neighborhood book club, and a Milton walking group.  Kathleen was a teacher before her children were born.  After they had grown, she worked as an assistant clerk with Milton Visiting Nurses and a substitute teacher in the Boston School System.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church, 350 Reedsdale Road, Milton, Thursday August 8 at 10:00 AM.  Relatives and friends invited.  Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Wednesday 4-8.  Interment Milton Cemetery.

Claire A. (Murphy) Boles, 92, of Milton, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2019.  She was born to Joseph E.  Murphy and Mary A. (Meehan) Murphy on August 26, 1926 in Mattapan. She attended Boston State College and worked at the Massachusetts State House in Boston before marrying her husband and raising their family.  Beloved wife of the late John J. Boles, Jr.  Loving mother of  Charlene Carlson and her husband Donald of Weymouth, John Boles and his wife   Elaine of Bedford, NH, and Paula Boles of Abington.  Sister of Joseph F. Murphy of Ridgefield, CT. and the late Mildred Teahan.  Cherished grandmother of Valerie, Matthew, and Kaitlyn Boles all of New Hampshire. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday August 7, 2019 at 10:30am in Saint Agatha Church, East Milton.

Alan Wiedeman,66, a lifelong resident of Milton, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 1, 2019.

Mr. Wiedeman was a graduate of Milton High School and Suffolk University. He was the son of the late Norman W. and Helen (Gruner) Wiedeman. He is survived by his sister, Janet L. Hazen of Quincy, an aunt, Cornelia Pinkham of New Mexico and many cousins.

All services will be private at the request of the family.

Winnifred Trifena (Green) Austin, a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. Winnifred was born in Kingston, Jamaica May 9, 1944 to the late Esmine and Ernest Green. In her early 20’s, she migrated to the United States and assisted her brothers and sisters in joining her. Winnie’s life was centered around her large family and the delights of her life were her daughters and grandchildren.

Winnie was the epitome of a lady, one who will always be remembered for her cooking, dressmaking, painting and her baking. She was excellent at all of them and did it all with Class and Sass!

Winnie had her share of challenges throughout her life, but she was a survivor and will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known and loved her.

Winnifred is survived by her daughters Renee and her husband Calbert Coakley and their two children Kennedy and Christian of Loganville, GA, Alicia Austin and her son Noah Rawlins of Far Rockaway NY, her former husband Winston Austin of Far Rockaway, NY. Stepchildren: Greg and his daughter Jade of Barbados, Arliegh his wife Karen and their sons Daniel, Andrew, and Joel of Barbados.

Robert W. LeLacheur, D.P.M., of Milton, July 27, 2019.

Beloved husband for 66 years of Elaine (Vassalotti) LeLacheur. Devoted father of Robert W. LeLacheur, Jr. and Diana of Reading, Richard M. LeLacheur and Beata of Westborough and David J. LeLacheur and Marcy of Milton.  Also survived by  grandchildren Margaret, Emily, Samuel, Alexandria, Gwen, Michael, and Annastasia.  He was a loyal friend to classmates from Hyde Park High 1946 and received an honorable discharge from the United States Navy. Dr. LeLacheur was a dedicated podiatrist for 40 years. He loved golf, sailing, hiking and travel with friends and loved ones.
