Born and raised in Kingston, NY, she worked for General Foods as a demonstrator. She met her husband at the Uphams Corner Market, Dorchester and they married and moved to Milton in 1939.

After her retirement from John Hancock in 1987, she worked for Eaton Vance. For the past 14 years, Anna worked in the Milton Public Library. She was also an active parishioner at Saint Mary of the Hills Parish in Milton and volunteered in many capacities there.
