Debra Reed and her beloved baby girl Aisha Reed, of Dorchester, at Boston Medical Center Sunday November 7, 2010. Beloved partner and daughter of Charlie Ervin. Dorothy (Brugioni) Keel

Dorothy (Brugioni) Keel, a retired seamstress, died at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, Boston, Wednesday November 10, 2010, after a long illness. She was 89 years old. Born in Novinger, Missouri and raised in Rotari, Italy, she moved to Highland Park, IL and then Boston.  Dorothy met Stanley G. Keel in the South End and they married 62 years ago. They lived in the South End, raised their children in Jamaica Plain for 25 years and moved to Mattapan in 1976. Mrs. Keel retired from B and D Garment Company in 1983.  She was an active parishioner at Saint Angela Church, Mattapan. Beloved wife of Stanley G. Keel. Loving mother of Stefano Keel and Riccardo Keel, both of Milton, Mario J. Keel of Mattapan, Anna Maria Keel of Stoughton, Daniel Keel of Wethersfield, CT and Pietro Keel of Lutz, FL. Dorothy is survived by twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister Mary Moore of Malden and brother Giovanni Brugioni of Chicago, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Angela Church, 1540 Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan, Tuesday November 16 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Mary E. “Mimi” (Duggan) Arnold

Mary E. “Mimi” (Duggan) Arnold, a retired school administrator, died at her home in Marshfield, Saturday November 6, 2010. Born in Milton, she had been a longtime Milton resident before moving to Marshfield. Mrs. Arnold was a school administrator at the Boston School for the Deaf. Wife of the late Charles Arnold. Beloved mother Michele M. Nutting and her husband Bruce of Marshfield and the late Gary D. Arnold. Loving grandmother of Moriah L. Hamm and great grandmother of Micah and Esther Hamm. Johnie Allen Matthews

Johnie Allen Matthews, a musician, died suddenly Thursday September 23, 2010  in Frankfurt, Germany. He was 57 years old.  Born in Houston, Texas, he was raised in Boston and graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy. Johnie served in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne for seventeen years, retiring in 1993. He moved to Germany to pursue a music career. Beloved son of Clara and Joseph Crowell. Loving brother of Cynthia, Joan and Carla. Graveside service with military honors at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Wednesday November 10 at 10:15 AM. Relatives and friends invited.

Eileen C. (Flaherty) Hennessey, S.F.O.

Eileen C. (Flaherty) Hennessey, S.F.O., 88, of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester and North Providence, RI, died on November 6, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Hennessey. Born in Boston, she was the loving daughter of the late Martin and Nora Flaherty. Sister of Thomas Flaherty and his wife Barbara of Walpole, Joseph Flaherty and his wife Anne Evelyn of Westford, formerly of Milton and the late Marie Messinger and Veronica Flaherty. Survived by 18 loving nieces and nephews and 30 great-nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Gregory Church, Dorchester on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 11:00AM. Eileen also volunteered her time at Heritage Hills Nursing Center in Smithfield, RI. Late Supervisor, New England Telephone and Telegraph. Henry G. Bouchie

Henry G. Bouchie, a field representative for Statler Associates, died at South Shore Hospital, Weymouth, Wednesday November 3, 2010, after a short illness. He was 60 years old.

Born in Dorchester and raised in Quincy, Henry was a graduate of Don Bosco High School and the Art Institute of Boston. He enjoyed painting and discussing sports and politics. He was a resident of Weymouth for over 26 years.

Henry worked for Industrial Heat Treating and Lindberg Heat Treating for 25 years and at Radius Healthcare.

Beloved husband of Sheila M. (Sweeney) Bouchie. Loving father of Ian Bouchie, Peter Bouchie, Elizabeth Walsh, Lilly Athena Bouchie and the late Genevieve Lida Bouchie. Grandfather of Samantha and Thomas. Son of Mary (Garvin) and the late Albert F. Bouchie. Brother of Paul Bouchie, Albert Bouchie, Anne Carey and the late Peter Bouchie.

Mary C. (McCarthy) Gallagher

Mary C. (McCarthy) Gallagher, of Raynham, formerly of Dorchester, died on November 3, 2010 at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth.

Born in Boston, Mary was raised in the Hyde Park section of the city. She graduated from Hyde Park High School and entered the US Coast Guard where she served as a Specialist during World War II.

After raising her family, Mary returned to work as a Switchboard Operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph. She was active in their union where she served as an Office Steward.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Beloved wife of the late Francis W. Gallagher. Loving mother of Denise M. Silveira and her husband Robert J. of Raynham, William F. Gallagher of Raynham, Robert P. Gallagher and his wife Gail of Norwell, Kathleen M. Welch and her husband Robert of Weymouth, John M. Gallagher and his wife Linda of Cohasset and Patricia E. Furtado of Brockton. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary Virginia (Griffin) Byrne

Mary Virginia (Griffin) Byrne, a retired secretary, died at Marian Manor, South Boston, after a long illness, Tuesday, November 2, 2010. She was 85 years old. Born in Boston, she was raised on Florida Street in Dorchester and was a graduate of Dorchester High School for Girls. She worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Sheraton Corporation and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Health Department. Mrs. Byrne retired in 1982. Beloved mother of Robert E. Byrne and his wife Cheryl of Alpharetta, GA, Madelyn Byrne of Savin Hill, Virginia Cooke and her husband Ron of North Reading, Stephen W. Robert D. Murphy

Robert D. Murphy, a Past Commander of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, died at Massachusetts General Hospital Wednesday November 3, 2010. He was 79 years old. Born in Boston and raised in Jamaica Plain and Dorchester, he was a graduate of Mechanical Arts High School. He enlisted in the US Army during the Korean Era and later graduated from Northeastern University. He established the R. D. Murphy Insurance Agency in 1957. Mr. Murphy was a resident of Milton for 29 years, moving to East Dennis in 1999. Beloved husband of Arlene C. (Wagner) Murphy. Loving father of Marlene Murphy-Campbell of Randolph, Elise Murphy-Mulligan of CT and Robert D. Murphy Jr. of Norwell. Grandfather of Melissa Shubert of KS, Cara-Cecelia Mulligan of CT and the late Christopher Shubert. Brother of Irene Zielinski of Ohio and the late William Murphy, Eleanor Shea and Patricia Hintz. Francis J. “Frank” Connolly

Francis J. “Frank” Connolly, a retired Boston police officer, died suddenly at Caritas Carney Hospital, on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. A resident of Milton for several years, Frank was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Frank was a Boston Police Officer for over 25 years and served most of his career in Hyde Park. Beloved husband of Phyllis C. (Belton) Connolly. Loving father of Stephen T. Connolly of Milton, Kevin M. Connolly of Florida, John J. Connolly and his wife Mary of Milton, Paul B. Connolly of Weymouth, Joan M. Dolan and her husband William of Holden and the late Robert F. Connolly. Frank is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
