Mary J. (Finn) Folino

Mary J. (Finn) Folino, at home in Milton, Wednesday April 18, 2012. Loving wife of Michael J. Folino, Sr., who died in 1987.  Survived by her beloved son, Mark L. Folino, Esq., of South Boston and Milton.  Dear mother of her beloved sons, Robert (“Bo”) W. Folino, who died in 1995, and Michael J. Folino, M.D. who died in 2005.  Also survived by her dear friends, Mabel E. Conroy (Sister-in-Law) of Braintree and Mary C. Hurley (Niece) of Quincy.  Thank You. Lino Fernandes

Lino Fernandes, 73, of Dorchester died at Bostonian Nursing Home, Dorchester, Monday April 16, 2012.  Lino leaves his wife, Maria Decanto, and children Maria Fernandes of Boston, Anselmo Fernandes of Brockton, Maria Decanto of Boston, Plinio Fernandes of Chelsea, Joao Fernandes of Boston, Delfino Fernandes of Cape Verde, and Maria Fernandes Johnson of Boston.  A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Saint Peter’s Church, Dorchester, Friday, April 20 at 10:00 AM.  Burial took place at New Calvary Cemetery in Boston.

John F. Drake

John F. Drake, Chief Cardiac Technologist, died Saturday, April 14th at the Quincy Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 65 years old.
Born in Boston to the late Albert L. and Catherine A (Borkin) Drake, he was raised and educated in Quincy. He had been a lifelong resident. Mr. Drake graduated from Quincy North High School and Suffolk University.
A veteran of the Army, he served as a Specialist and had completed two tours in Viet Nam.
Mr. Drake started his employment 48 years ago at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston in their animal laboratory and was currently serving as a Chief Cardiac Technologist with the hospital.
He loved spending time with his family, golfing, traveling and was an avid fan of the Boston sports teams.
Beloved husband of 42 years to Heather (Hird) Drake. Loving father of Kristin Eby and her husband, David of Attleboro and Adam Drake and his wife, Dana of Lawrenceville, NJ. Dear brother of Marion King and her husband, Tom of Scituate and Albert “Sonny” Drake and his wife, Mary of Quincy. Cherished grandfather of Owen Drake and Lauren and Emily Eby. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
John will be missed by his dear golden retriever, “Brady”.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy, Thursday, April 19 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON, Wednesday 4-8 PM. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in John’s memory may be made to either the American Cancer Society or  to the American Heart Association.

Thelma G. (Zottoli) Pascucci

Thelma G. (Zottoli) Pascucci, 97, a homemaker formerly of Quincy, April 7, 2012. Born and raised in the Squantum section of Quincy, Thelma attended Quincy High School and was a longtime Quincy resident.  In 1931, Thelma married Charles Buckley.  They resided in the Neponset section of  Dorchester.   Thelma was an active member of Community Church of  Neponset for over 50 years.    She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Della (Raimey) Zottoli.

Beloved wife of the late Vincent J. Pascucci and the late Charles Buckley.  Mother of  Frederick Buckley of Quincy, Frank Buckley Ret. (QPD) of  Florida, Sally Croft of Quincy and Leona Masabny LeFort of Hanson.  Thelma was the grandmother of Joseph, Rose, Deborah, and Alexandra and the late Diana Buckley, Anthony Finn, Francis Riley and John Riley.  Great grandmother of  Kristin, Sarah, Rachel and Gina. Great great grandmother of  Briana,  Ivan and Aidan.

A Funeral Service will be held in First Baptist Church of Abington, 219 Adams St. Abington on Thursday, April 12 at 11:00 AM.  Relatives and friends invited.  Visiting hours in the Dolan Funeral Home 460 Granite Ave. MILTON on Wed. 4-8 PM. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery.

Dorothea M. (Dobbins) Berry

Dorothea M. (Dobbins) Berryof Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, April 5, 2012. Wife of the late Dervres ‘Lee” Berry. Mother of  Steven L. Berry and his wife Kathleen,  Patricia A. Doherty and her husband  Edward, Kevin L. Berry and William H. Berry and his wife Gail all of Quincy.  Sister of Anna “Nancy” Dobbins of Quincy and the late William Dobbins, Clara Gilbreath, Edward Dobbins and Albert Dobbins. Grandmother of  Jennifer Kopec and her husband Shane of Worcester, Kristen Berry and Jillian Berry both of Quincy.  Great –grandmother of Joshua D. Kopec of Worcester. Rita E.(Finerty) MacKenzie

Rita E. (Finerty) MacKenzie, former owner of MacKenzie’s Jenney Station, died at John Adams House, Quincy, Tuesday April 3, 2012. She was 89 years old.

 

Born in Boston and raised in Milton, she was a graduate of Roxbury Girls Latin School. For many years, she and her late husband, Leonard, owned and operated MacKenzie’s Jenney Station on Randolph Avenue, Milton, across from Saint Elizabeth’s Church. For many years, Mrs. MacKenzie was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Milton.

 

Wife of the late Leonard W. MacKenzie. Daughter of the late Francis J. and Mary (Foran) Finerty. Sister of Paul M. Finerty of Medfield and the late Mary McDermott, Francis J. Finerty Jr., Patricia Steele, Richard Finerty and Gerald Finerty. Sister-in-law of Kay Finerty of Milton and Glenda Finerty of Tucson, AZ.

Margarete Prieler Gallery

Margarete Prieler Gallery passed onto the Lord, Thursday evening, March 29, 2012  at her home in Palm Harbor, Florida.  She was preceded in death by her  husband of 57 years, James J. Gallery.  She is survived by her five  loving children, their respective spouses and 13 grandchildren who all  knew and loved her. She is also survived by a sister and two brothers. Bernard G. Hayes

Bernard G. Hayes, 77,  a lifelong resident of South Boston, died on March 28, 2012. He was the devoted son of the late Thomas C. and Margaret Mary (Gallagher) Hayes. Brother of Gertrude E. McCabe of Braintree and the late Thomas C. Hayes, Jr., Francis X Hayes and Marguerite Rathgeb. Uncle of several nieces and nephews and Grand-Uncle of many grandnieces and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Gate of Heaven Church, 615 East Fourth St., South Boston, on Monday, April 2 at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visitation will be on Monday morning prior to the Mass , 9:00-10:30AM at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave. MILTON. Interment New Calvary Cemetery. Bernard was a  US Army Veteran who served in Korea. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an Electrician for the MBTA and he was a late L Street Brownie.

Catherine M. Corbett

Catherine M. “Snookie” (Hart) Corbett, of Braintree, formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, Monday March 26, 2012.  Beloved wife of the late John J. Corbett.  Devoted mother of Nancy & Dennis O’Rourke of Hollis, NH; Michael & Margaret Corbett of Braintree; Joseph Corbett of Braintree, Mark & Christine Corbett of Stoneham; Debra & John Crowley of Braintree; and Roseanne & Ray Haynes of Salem, NH.  Cherished grandmother of Sean O’Rourke & his wife Shannon Llewellyn; Christopher and Bryan O’Rourke; Michael Corbett; Joseph and Zachary Corbett; Ashley and Kelsey Corbett; John, Meaghan and Maura Crowley; and Brad and Bryce Haynes.  Catherine is also survived by her loving brother Robert Hart, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  She is predeceased by her parents and 6 siblings.  Catherine was a long time employee of Bradlees in Dorchester.  She was an avid bingo player, and a member of the K-Club.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, ceramics, and monthly trips to Twin Rivers.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 854 Washington Street, Braintree, Thursday, March 29 at 9:00 AM.  Relatives and friends invited.  Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Wednesday, March 28 from 4 – 8 PM.  Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.  Catherine’s family is extremely grateful to the VNA Hospice Care, and in lieu of flowers they ask donations be made to them at 100 TradeCenter, G500, Woburn, MA 01801, so that other families may receive the same at home care provided to Catherine.
