John F. Winchester

John F. Winchester, of Avon, CT formerly of Norwell, June 27, 2012. Devoted husband of the late Lois (Lee) Winchester. Beloved father of John Lee Winchester, and G. Paul Winchester both of Avon, CT and Catherine Winchester-Burr of San Diego, CA. JOhn  is survived by two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Visitation Monday July 2,  in the Dolan & Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Avenue, MILTON 9 – 10 am.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Agatha Church, MILTON at 10:30 am. Interment Milton Cemetery. John received his MBA  from the Wharton School, Pennsylvania. He served as the Executive Director of the CT State Lottery and later served as the Executive Vice President of Lottery Enterprises, Inc. of San Diego, CA until 1995. Anne (Turnbull) Phelan

Anne (Turnbull) Phelan, of Milton, Wednesday June 27, 2012  Devoted wife of the late Edward Phelan.  Loving mother of Elizabeth Phelan of Millis, Katherine Phelan of Cambridge and Margaret Lagarde and her husband Andrew Lagarde of Stow.  Cherished grandmother of Jack and Anna Lagarde.  Sister of Betsy Jackson of Hanover , David Turnbull of Milton and John Turnbull of Southbury , CT.  Anne was born in Fitchburg, MA and spent most of her life in Milton.  She was a faithful parishioner of St. Agatha Church and where she taught math and science for 25 years. In addition to her professional life, Anne enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was an avid reader and some of her happiest evenings were spent in the company of the members of her book club which had been active for 10 years. She eagerly awaited each summer to spend many days with her family on Cape Cod.  Anne loved to travel, especially with her daughters.  During the last 7 years, Anne found particular joy and wonder in the lives of her two grandchildren.   Visiting hours at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON,  Friday from 4-8PM . Peter A. Boyle

Peter A. Boyle, a former researcher, died at Norwood Hospital after a long illness. He was 61 years old. Born in Boston and raised in Milton, Peter had worked for the United States Postal Service at the South Postal Annex and later as a researcher at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He was known for his fabulous sense of humor and was articulate and well-learned. Beloved son of the late John A. and Margaret A. (Fraher) Boyle. Brother of Beverly Fallon, Joseph Boyle, Valerie Boyle, Marie DiMarco and the lateLouise Foley, Pricilla Ruzzo, John A. Boyle, James C. Boyle and Edward T. Boyle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Pius X Church, 101 Wolcott Road, Milton, Wednesday June 27 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Louise (Heneghan) Siris

Louise (Heneghan) Siris, passed away peacefully after a three and a half year battle with breast cancer, Sunday June 24, 2012. Loving wife of Robert and mother of Melanie, A.J. and Elsie of Milton MA. One of six children born to the late Anne (Riedman) and William Heneghan Sr. of Rochester, NY. Survived by sisters Mary (John) Aldrich of Winchester, MA, Margaret (Peter) Urzetta of Rochester, NY and Elizabeth (Robert) MacLeish of Salem, MA as well as her brother John (Eve Sadowsky)Heneghan of Newton, MA. Predeceased by her brother William Jr.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Louise received her BA from The University of Buffalo and an MBA from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA. She worked in various roles in Verizon Wireless as a customer service rep, engineer, and manager. She enjoyed knitting, painting and drawing and recently took up watercolors.  She loved travelling with her husband and enjoyed her large circle of friends and family. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and took an active role in their school and activities. She will be remembered as someone who was kind, vibrant and outgoing, with strong perseverance. She wanted to live life to the fullest. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Agatha’s Catholic Church, 432 Adams St, Milton, Friday June 29 at 10:30 AM. Leo P. Coyne

Leo P. Coyne of Milton died suddenly on Sunday, June 24.  He was 82. Mr. Coyne was born in Boston and lived in Dorchester and Quincy prior to moving to Milton in 1964.  He was a graduate of Boston Technical High School Class of 1948 and Boston College Class of 1956. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War with the rank of Technical Sergeant. Leo was employed by the Dipesa C.P.A. firm of Boston and later became the comptroller of the Condyne Company. He was a member of the American Legion Morrisette Post 294 of Quincy. Mr. Coyne was a life member of the Squantum Yacht Club and the Knights of Columbus Dorchester Lower Mills Council # 180. Leo P. Coyne was the beloved husband of the late Marguerite (Mullen) Griffiths-Coyne.  Father of Brian J. Griffiths BPD of Milton, William I. Griffiths (Ret. BPD) of Easton, Thomas G. Griffiths, BPD of Yarmouth, Kevin C. Coyne, BPD and his wife Tina of Hanover, Dennis P. Coyne and his wife Judith of Milton, James A. Coyne, BPD and his wife Annamarie of Milton, and the late Sherman C. Margaret Mary (Finnegan) Ferrucci

Margaret Mary (Finnegan) Ferrucci, of Milton, died peacefully at home after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s, Friday June 22, 2012. She was 82. She was the beloved wife of Dr. James C. Ferrucci for 60 years, also the loving mother of seven children and grandmother of eighteen. She is survived by her sons, James Edward (Jed) Ferrucci and his wife Mary of Braintree; John Gerard Ferrucci and his wife Cindy of Hingham; and David James Ferrucci of Hull. Her daughters are Joanne Patricia Sullivan and her husband Brian of Needham, Janet Marie Besinger and her husband Edward of Milton; Ellen Mary McKenna and her husband Dr. Stephen of Longmeadow; and Karen Margaret Breen and her husband Kevin of Hull. Margaret Mary is also survived by her grandchildren, James, Michael and Kristen Ferrucci of Hingham; Brian, Jeff Chris, Ali and Kelly Sullivan of Needham; Eddie, Billy, Brian and Tom Besinger of Milton; Stephen, Katie and Caroline McKenna of Longmeadow; and Courtney, Katelyn and Kerry of Hull. She was the sister of the late Eileen Duggan of Braintree and Rosemary Carey of Burlington. Margaret Mary will be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother whose life revolved around her family. She graduated from Braintree High School and Carney Hospital School of Nursing. She was an active volunteer at Carney Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, playing tennis and vacationing at her summer home in West Harwich. Richard F. Devlin, a retired Trial Court Officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, died at his home in Quincy, Friday June 22, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Ellen (Callahan) Devlin. Anne E. Coghlan

Anne E. Coghlan, renowned biomedical ethicist and life-long resident of Milton, died in her Fuller Village home Monday  June 11, 2012.  She was the daughter of the late William and Alice (Blake) Coghlan. After graduating fromSimmonsCollegein 1948, Dr. Coghlan received a Master of Education in 1953 from Boston University, a Master of Science in 1957 from the University of Vermont and a Ph.D. in 1965 from the University of Rhode Island. Anne returned to her alma mater, Simmons College, to teach where she remained for 35 years as Professor of Biology, Chair of the Biology Department and Dean of Sciences.  When Dr. Coghlan retired in 1993,SimmonsCollegeestablished the Anne Coghlan Fund for Student Research in her honor.  In 1998, she was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree fromSimmonsCollege.  The following year at its Centennial,SimmonsCollegerecognized Dr. Coghlan as one of the ten outstanding teachers of the century. Dr. Coghlan epitomized civic commitment through her continuous service to the Town ofMiltonand its school system.  A Town Meeting Member from 1972 to 1998, Anne served as the first woman Chair of the Warrant Committee. Dr. Coghlan also served as Chair of both the High School Science Study & Building Committee and the Library Study Committee. The Town ofMiltonhonored Dr. Coghlan by naming her Town Club Citizen of the Year in 1992 and by naming the high school science wing for her in 1996.  She received the Outstanding Graduate Award from Milton High School. Dr. Coghlan was former Chair of the Board of Directors of Milton Hospital and Chair of its Ethics Committee. She was awarded the Milton Hospital Award for Excellence in Leadership in 2005. Anne was a Board Member of the Milton Visiting Nurses Association where she also chaired the Ethics Committee.  Dr. Coghlan also served as President of the Milton Foundation for Education and Trustee of the Cunningham Foundation and Park. Anne was a former Trustee of Fontbonne Academy andRegisCollegeand also a member of the Board of Directors of Milton Fuller Housing Corporation from 1997 to the present. Dr. Coghlan is survived by many dear friends and will be greatly missed. Interment will be private. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 26 at 5 p.m. at Fuller Village, 1372 Brush Hill Road, Milton.
