Connolly John obit photoConnolly, John Jerome William Kevin Connolly, 76 of Ft Myers FL, formerly of Milton and  Cape Cod,  passed away on May 3, 2013, peacefully surrounded by family at Shell point Hope Hospice. John was born in Boston on March 13, 1937, son of the late John K. and Anne Driscoll Connolly. He graduated from Dorchester High. John worked as a Foreman for AT&T for 25 years. He was honorably discharged from the Army of the United States March 1965. He was a Registered
Real Estate Broker in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He enjoyed sailing, reading and summers in Dennisport on Cape Cod. John is survived by children, Laura E.(Kevin) Connolly Briere, John L.(Lesley) Connolly, Douglas
J.(Maureen) Connolly, grandchildren MiKayla and Andreea Briere, Jessica and Brennan Connolly, Nolan, Meghan and Liam Connolly, sister, Anne Phipps, and other family and friends.Graveside service Friday, May 10 at Noon in Milton

Moran of Braintree and Stephen C. Moran of Pembroke. Adored daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (MacDonald) MacLellan. Sister of the late Aeneas, Mary, Peter and Aloysius MacLellan. Sister in law of Mabel MacLellan of PEI, aunt of Francis Moran of South Boston. Also survived by grandchildren Matthew, Richard, Annmarie all of Braintree, Christopher, Jacqueline and Patrick all of Pembroke, nieces and nephews, Kenny, Clair, Patsy, Paula, Peter, Blaine, Joe, Mary Ann, Gregory, Geoffrey, Wendy, Robby all of PEI and Francis Moran of South Boston. Edna Mae Alexander

Mrs. Edna Mae Burton Alexander was born on May 31, 1949 in Macon, North   Carolina to the late Leolia and Nathaniel Burton, Sr.  She was the granddaughter of the late Jennie and James Taylor and  Janie  and Moses Burton.

Edna attended the Warren County School System.   She left her childhood home and moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where she worked for more than 30 years as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) and bus monitor for Boston Public Schools.  Her life’s work was dedicated to ensuring the comfort and dignity of the elderly and children.   She was an avid  urban gardener.  When not working, her favorite pasttime was playing Bingo with her friends.

Edna was an amazing, strong woman whom not only took care of her own children, but also opened her heart and home to many others, as well.  She was also a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for large gatherings.

She is survived by her children:  Jermaine Alexander (Teressa) of Houston, TX; Milton Alexander of Atlanta, GA; Renee Alexander of Boston, MA;  Janeeque Evans (Thurman)  of Fall River, MA.

Edna  is survived by her siblings:  Ella L. Whitlock (Clyde) of Richmond, VA;  Annie E. Perry (Jerry) of Norlina, NC;  Jennie A. Lassiter (Charles)of Soul City , NC.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Nathaniel Burton, Jr., and Bennie R. Burton.

She is also survived by her Grandchildren:  Krystle Bowman, Alicia Jackson, Malachi Alexander, Emmanuel Alexander, Elijah Alexander, Nia Alexander, Marcus Alexander, Aneshia Alexander, and Amarion Alexander and Great- grandchildren: Kaleb and Kaiden Eglin.

Memorial service at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Friday May 3 at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friends invited. Funeral service and interment will take place in North Carolina.

Philip P. Coveney

Philip P.Coveney, of Cambridge April 23. Husband of Marylou C. (Jones) Coveney. Loving father of Stephen of Quincy, Jack of Princton, MA, Philip of NC, Michael of Boston, Elaine Coveney of Boston and Susan Paolucci of Boston. John F. Clarke

John F. Clarke, of Dorchester, died, April 22, in Norwood at the age of 85.

Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Roslindale High School and Boston University.  He was an Army Veteran serving as an MP in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

He worked as a salesman for Atlantic Records servicing the Boston and New York market areas.

John was the beloved son of the late Thomas and Bridget (Connolly) Clarke.  Brother of the late Thomas J. Clarke.  Uncle of Thomas J. Clarke of North Easton, Maureen Clarke-Lewis of Norwell, Kevin Clarke and Theresa Whooley both of Quincy and the late Patricia Lydon.  John is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Milton, on Tues., April 30, at 10:30 A.M.  Relatives and friends invited.

Visiting hours Monday from 4 – 7 P.M. at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON.

June M. Marden

Marden, JuneJune M. (Tite) Marden, 89, of Quincy, died on April 25.  June was the  beloved wife of the late Edward A. Marden, Sr.  A lifelong resident of Quincy she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Amanda (Monti) Tite.

June was a member of Union Congregational Church in Wollaston and a past  member of Eastern Star.  A lover of animals, she also enjoyed oil painting, cake decorating and talking about her grandchildren.

She was the devoted mother of Carole G. Budrick and her late husband Robert of Milford, NH, Wendy K. Hoffman of PA, Edward A. Marden, Jr. and his wife Gayle of Townsend and Merri M. McNeil and her husband Gerald T., Jr. of Quincy.  She was also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service, Monday, April 29 at 11:00  o’clock,  at the Union Congregational Church, 136 Rawson Rd. Quincy.  Visiting hours Sunday, 5-8 PM  in the Dolan-Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Ave., MILTON VILLAGE.  Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

Howard E. Kavanaugh

Howard E. Kavanaugh, a retired warehouse manager, died at Quincy Medical Center, Quincy, suddenly Wednesday April 24, 2013. He was 77 years old. Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester, he moved to Quincy 50 years ago. Mr. Kavanaugh retired from Crimson Tech as a warehouse manager in 2001. His three passions were his family, exercising and watching sports. As part of his exercise regime, he walked 8-10 miles a day. Mr. Kavanaugh hoped to reach 50,000 miles walked by the end of 2013. Unfortunately, he was struck by a car in Quincy, November 2012 and had never been able to resume his same level of physical activity. Beloved husband of the late Joan (Holbrow) Kavanaugh, who died in January. Loving father of John and his wife Carolyn Kavanaugh of Glen Ellyn, IL, Donna and her husband Brian Dennehey of Weymouth, Carolyn and her husband Steven O’Neil of Reading and LTCMDR Michael Kavanaugh M.D., U.S.N. and his wife Roberta of La Mesa, CA. Grandfather of Patrick, Christopher, Ryan, Timothy, Nicholas, Jill, Grace and Maggie.
