Peter Burrill Sholley

Peter Burrill Sholley (1)Peter Burrill Sholley, of Milton, formerly of Wellesley Hills, West Falmouth, and Boca Grande, Florida, died on April 3rd surrounded by his loving family. Born to Sidney and Aya Sholley in West Newton in 1927, he attended Noble and Greenough School and graduated from Rollins College, where he met his late wife, Nancy. Peter served as a first lieutenant and ordinance instructor in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After a successful career as vice president of marketing for Keystone Custodian Funds, Peter became an inventor in late middle-age, focusing on finding ways to bring clean water to developing countries. His most recent invention, the Safewater Sensor, is currently in a pilot program in South Africa and will soon be introduced in Haiti.  Peter was a devoted community activist, a founder of the Wellesley Community Center, and past president of the Norumbega Council of the Boy Scouts of America where he received the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service. He was a board member on the Gasparilla Island Bridge Authority, and director of development for the Boca Grande Chapter of Solutions to Avoid Red Tide. He was also president of the Sholley Foundation, which provides support for a variety of non-profit organizations. Peter was yankee to his core, an ardent environmentalist and conservationist, and an early advocate of recycling and repurposing. He was courtly and a gentleman but took keen delight in shellacking his opponents in cribbage, poker, scrabble, tennis and golf. A gentle and imaginative father, Peter made up a long-running bedtime story for his children about Yisha Opp, a little boy who lived in a cereal box. He was much beloved. Peter leaves his sister Janann Clanton of Altamonte Springs, Florida; children Lucy of Dedham, Adam of Milton, and Nicholas of Santa Rosa, CA; son- and daughters-in-law Ted Rabidoux, Joan Moynagh and Thais Harris; grandchildren Elizabeth O’Keefe and George, Anne, and Peter Sholley; and his dear friend, Gladys Hampton. He also leaves his grumpy Jack Russell Terrier Ollie Sholley, now a treasured member of his daughter’s family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Buddy Dog Humane Society. Services will be held on May 17th at St. Michael’s Church in Milton at 11am.

Hilaire Francois, “Smith” of Boston passed away on Sunday March 30, 2014. He was a son of late Jules Julien and Erzulia Anrisca. He was preceded in death by his brothers Vajulis, Saint Julis, Jeannot,and his sister Immacula. His aunts Dieudonne,Irena,Erzulia, Jeanne,and Marchelia. Surviving are his daughter Smath, his sons Ralph, Anderson, Junior Didier,and Smithy.His 6 grandchildren His sisters Camita(Dieuvais),Celuta,Sister Guerda,Claudine(Kedner), Marlene, and his brother Ronald. Many nieces, nephews,and cousins. Kathleen Virginia Crowley – Of Quincy, passed away at her home on March 30, after a brief illness. Beloved daughter of the late Charles F. Crowley and Virginia G. Robert Southworth of Hyde Park, suddenly, March 29. Born in Boston and educated in Boston Pubic Schools he worked as a truck driver for many years. Robert was the  beloved son of Eunice H. Ohrt and the late James B. Ohrt. Presley D. Witter, 52, of Boston passed away on March 24, 2014.  He is survived by his loving wife Angella Witter.  Beloved father of Cardeen Witter of Jamaica, Presley J. Witter of Boston, Antinika Morris of Boston, Chantel Witter of Jamaica, Sharone Witter of Milwaukee, Tatianna Witter of Boston and Kiara Witter of Boston.  Loving grandfather to Chamarie Witter and Nyanna Lee.  He was predeceased by his son Presley A. Witter, Jr.  A funeral service will be held at the Full Life Gospel Center, 493 Washington Street, Dorchester on Saturday a  visiting hour will begin at 9 A.M. Percy Marchan

Mr. Percy Marchan “Junior”, was born in Whiteland, Trinidad on June 20, 1958 to Mazie and the late Harry Marchan.  Percy was the fourth child of six.  He was educated in the Trinidad Public School System and would later graduate from St. Benedict’s College.

In April 1977, Percy emigrated to the United States of America with his siblings. He was the first employed by Honeywell Bull Corporation where he worked for approximately 10 years.  His next and final employment was at National Grid where he worked for over 25 years.

In 1982 Percy met Jennifer Roberts and fell deeply in love with her and her family.  Jennifer’s five children adored him as well.  Percy and Jennifer always remained forever in love and eternally committed to each other. From their union, one son, Devon, was born in 1991. Percy was warm, kind, and loving and was enjoyed by his family and friends.

An avid New England Patriots fan, Percy and Jennifer traveled to London in 2012 to see their team play.  On that trip, Percy decided to take his lovely wife to Paris, the city of love.Annually in June, Percy and Jennifer would travel abroad on their anniversary.  They enjoyed a lovely life together.

Percy is survived by his mother Mazie Marchan, his wife Jennifer and their children, Dexter, Dionne and her husband Renald, Dolores, Dallas, Darrell and his wife Neetu and Devon.  He was the grandfather of Simone and Jarvis.  His siblings Herman and his wife Lancie, Stephen and his wife Sally, Pat and her husband Curtis, Roger and Ronald and his wife Cherena.  Uncle of Abeni, Ayoka and many others.  Great uncle of several.  Brother-in-law of Michael Norville and his wife Joan and Winslow Roberts, and a host of cousins both here and in Trinidad.

Percy will never be forgotten and was a very loving man who always gave his best.

David A. Dahlroos, Jr.,  of Hingham, formerly of Quincy, March 22, 2014.  Beloved husband of the late Isabel V. (Gallot) Dahlroos.  Loving father of David A. Dahlroos, III, and his wife Debra of Nashville, TN, Laraine H. Malley and her husband William of Rockland and Nancy I. O’Hara and her husband Daniel of Weymouth.  Grandfather of  David Dahlroos, Kristin Porter, Kristina Lyttle, Christopher Malley, Jennifer Levy, Carolyn Peters, Kerry Cadete, Kevin O’Hara and Ryan O’Hara.  Also survived by 15 great grandchildren.

David was a member of the Viking Club , Masonic Lodge and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for over 50 years.  He  enjoyed being with his wonderful wife, 3 children, 9 grandchildren and  15 great grandchildren- who always managed to brighten up his day whenever he saw them .  David  always felt so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

In his spare time David enjoyed watching the Red Sox.  He was an avid baseball fan and felt lucky he was able to see the Red Sox win the World Series last year when he was 95.

Fabian J. Lionetti

Fabian “Doc” J. Lionetti of Milton, March 14, beloved husband of the late Kathryn (Grysko) Lionetti. Devoted father of Karen Lionetti of Mashpee and the late Fabian J.  Lionetti, Jr.  and Donald Lionetti.  Grandfather of Mark Lionetti of Boston.

Fabian held a PhD in physical chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Professor of Biochemistry at Boston University Medical School, distinguished researcher whose body of work contributed to advances at NASA, the Department of Energy, and in the field of blood preservation, author of numerous papers published in leading scientific journals, counselor and friend to his students, boatsman and birder, “wicked” fisherman, hometown sports fan, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle – in all these endeavors, he excelled. In loving memory of “Doc”. Farewell from the ones who love you.
