Milton G. Rogers, of Milton passed away surrounded by his family, Friday, December 1^st .  Beloved husband of H. Joanne (Dunn) Rogers.  Devoted father of Jody Leveroni of Milton, Jonathan Rogers of Scituate, Bradford Rogers of Milton, Milton Rogers Jr. of Canton and Richard Rogers of Milton.

A life-long resident of Milton and graduate of Milton High School, “Milt” was loved by his family,  grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Highly respected for over 30 years as an executive in the automotive industry, he will be missed by many  friends and colleagues.

Dr. James C. Ferrucci,  age 92, of Milton passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Friday, December 1, 2017, after a brief illness.

He was predeceased by the love of his life of over 64 years, Margaret Mary (Finnegan); his parents James J. Ferrucci and Frances (Miro) Ferrucci and his brother, Richard J Ferrucci.

He is survived by his seven children, James (Jed) Ferrucci and his wife Mary of Braintree; John Ferrucci and his wife Cindy of Hingham; Joanne Sullivan and her husband Brian of Needham; Janet Besinger and her husband Edward of Milton; Ellen McKenna and her husband Stephen of Longmeadow, MA; David Ferrucci of Hull; and Karen Breen and her husband Kevin of Hull.

Jim was the proud grandfather of James, Michael and Kristen Ferrucci; Brian, Jeffrey, Christopher, Ali Marie and Kelly Sullivan; Edward Besinger and his wife Corey; William Besinger and his wife Kerri; and Brian and Thomas Besinger; Stephen, Katie, and Caroline McKenna; Courtney, Katelyn and Kerry Breen; and one great-grandchild, Brendan Besinger.

Dr. Ferrucci was born in Bridgeport, CT and was a proud graduate of College of the Holy Cross in 1946 and Tufts Medical School in 1949.  He practiced general surgery for 63 years until he retired from his Milton Lower Mills office in April 2011 at age 86.  He trained in surgery at the Carney Hospital. He became a captain in the U.S. Air Force Surgical Corps during the Korean War from 1953-1955.  He was an instructor of Anatomy and Surgery at Tufts Medical School, an instructor of Surgery at the Chelsea Naval Hospital, and surgical instructor at Boston University Medical School.  Dr. Ferrucci was a member of the Carney Hospital Foundation and Treasurer of the Carney Medical Staff for many years.

He was also a member of the Board of Cooperators at the Milton Hospital, and Chairman, for many years, of the Staff Credentials Committee that considered the applications of new staff members.

Dr. Ferrucci was known and beloved by his many patients, not only for the high quality of medical care, but for his kindness, compassion and accessibility.

Dr. Ferrucci was a devoted family man.  He enjoyed gardening, bird-watching and spending his time with his family, both at his home in Milton and his summer home on the Cape.  In 1965, Dr. Ferrucci was a co-founder and president of the Milton Youth Hockey program.

He was always known as a raconteur and teller of humorous stories.  He has compiled a book of over one hundred of his true personal stories.  At family gatherings, he entertained his children and grandchildren with these personal stories, trivia and mind games.   In his retirement years, he enjoyed sharing many of his stories, jokes and trivia with friends at the Milton Council on Aging and at his most recent residence at Standish Village.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours for Dr. Ferrucci on Monday, December 4, 2017, 4-8 PM at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church, 350 Reedsdale Road, Milton, Tuesday, December 5 at 10:00 am.

Robert W. Egan of Milton, MA; “89” passed away November 26, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born November 9, 1928 to John O’Neil Egan of Dorchester, MA and Mildred (McIssac) of CO, he was married on June 12, 1954 to Mary Ellen (Marlen) Gillis of West Roxbury. They recently celebrated 63 years of marriage.

A 1950 graduate of Boston College and 1954 graduate of Boston University School of Medicine, he served as a doctor in the Army, stationed at Fort Lewis, WA from 1958-1960. Specializing in Neurology he returned to Boston and launched a career that would span over 45 years. He was chief of Neurology at Carney Hospital in Dorchester, the Chief of Staff at Milton Hospital and was on staff at Cardinal Cushing Hospital in Brockton and other hospitals in the Boston area.

Dr. R.W. Egan was a known for his integrity, high ethical standards, insight, individual attention to each patient, and generosity; providing pro bono work for countless patients. He was the lead physician for 8 trips to Lourdes France, via the Lourdes Center in Boston, and certified several healings on the official Lourdes Medical Cures List.

Survived by his faithful caring wife Marlen Egan, and dedicated children, Mary-Ellen Curry of Severna Park, MD; Robert W. Egan Jr. of Hanover, MA; John F. Egan of Moretown, VT; Suzanne Rader of Winchendon MA; Daniel R. Egan of Thornton, NH; Edmund J. (Ned) Egan of Tahoe City, CA; and Michael J. Egan of Kingfield, ME; beloved sister Jean Marie Cull and Thomas Cull of Westlake Village, CA was preceded in death by his loving aunts Dorothea and Florence McLeod of Boston and infant Daniel E. Egan. He was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Bob believed in faith, family, and friends, as a youth he was a sailing champion in the Snipe Class, as an adult he could be found sailing his wooden Herreshoff 12 ½ throughout Massachusetts Bay. Egan a wooden boat craftsman and a voracious reader was also a passionate skier who skied into his 80s with his children and grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be at St Elizabeth Church Saturday at 11am, 350 Reedsdale Rd, Milton. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave., Milton Friday 4-8pm. Joseph Panchamsingh of Milton died November 27, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of Cynthia (Nannan) Panchamsingh of Milton.  Loving father of Angela Silva and her husband Albert of Canton, Michelle Contreras and her husband Jose of Dorchester, Joseph K. Panchamsingh of Dorchester, Diana Quinchia and her husband Jeffrey of Hyde Park and Jonathan Panchamsingh of Milton.  Brother of Julie Panchamsingh-Barakat of Milton.  Cherished grandfather of Ariana Silva, Jose Contreras, Daniel Contreras, Aiden Silva, Juliana Quinchia, Samuel Contreras and Jasmine Quinchia.

Joseph was born and raised in Trinidad and came to the United States as a teenager.  He and his wife Cynthia settled in Dorchester where they raised their children.  Joseph was a man of many talents and was employed as a computer engineer in his early career. He worked in the restaurant industry for many years and was later self-employed as a jeweler. He was a history buff, talented chef, and enjoyed cars, airplanes, and music. Most of all Joe adored his family who were the cornerstone of his life.  He will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure to have known and loved him.

With a grace all her own, Natália Gonçalves de Barros was a welcome sight to all who knew her. Her love was unyielding, her faith relentless, and her tranquility unmatched. Affectionately referred to as Bibica, she began her story on February 23, 1921 in Laranjeira, Fogo, Cabo Verde with her four siblings and her parents Manega and Patola. It was in these formative years that she nurtured a love for God which she carried on throughout her life. With this foundation she set out to start her own family, and at the age of 17 married Tomé Resende de Barros.

The young family quickly grew, and Bibica became a mother to 14 children known as Maria Antonia, Mery, Maia, Tina, Pedro, Bartolomeu, Ana, Luluxa, Eloy, Nanando, Nuni, Duduca, Pinani, and Lalala. Each learned quickly that a successful family is built on unity and responsibility; as such, they all helped in the house, on the farm, and in raising their younger siblings. Bibica had an undeniable bond with her home in Ponta Verde Fogo; however, her love for her children was greater. In 1979 Bibica and Tome immigrated to America leaving almost everything they knew behind so that their family might have access to more opportunities.

Settling in Roxbury, Massachusetts, they moved into an apartment on Shirley Street. Their family continued to grow as grandchildren scurried down what seemed to be a mile long hallway, never growing tired of the endless fun with their cousins. With 42 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, Bibica loved them each in such a unique way that made each one feel truly special. Eventually Bibica did return to her home in Fogo where she was most happy. It was there on her front terrace that she would relax under flowing trees, chat with visitors, and inevitably “baza nove” to anyone playing Biska with her.

Bibica left an immeasurable imprint on us all. When we miss her, let us think back to the special moments we had with her. Moments when she gladly sat up in her bed to share photos of family and

friends from her iPad. Moments when she recounted memories and stories from her younger days in away so vivid that listeners were always left amazed. Moments when she smiled at you and made you personally feel like you were the most important person in the world to her. Moments when she laughed that uniquely Bibica laugh that made your heart warm in a way nothing else could.

We can rest assured that she was welcomed into heaven by loving daughters, siblings, parents, and so many others who awaited her arrival. Additionally, our beloved Bibica is resting in peace for eternity right alongside her husband as she always wished. May we take these last moments to thank her for all her blessings and for the legacy she left behind in all of us.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Patrick Church, Thursday, November 30 at 10AM. Visiting hours will be held at the Church on Wednesday from 5-9PM. Interment at New Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.

Anne (Whelan) Branca, of Scituate, formerly of Milton, passed away peacefully at Sunrise Senior Living in Braintree at the age of 99, November 18, 2017.

Anne was married to the late Dr. Alfred W. Branca for 55 wonderful years and she is survived by their 6 children: Paul of Milton, William (& Maureen) of Weymouth, Richard (& Elaine) of Lisle Illinois, Jane (& Jack Wallace) of Needham, Donald (& Heidi) of Hanson and Nancy (& George Rohwer) of Silverthorne, Colorado. She was “Grammie” to 13 grandchildren (Stephanie, Michael, Philip, Nicole, Marc, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Brian, Daniel, David, Rick, Jacqueline and Travis) and 7 great grandchildren (Will, Ben, Charlie, Quinn, Zac, Juniper, and Haru). Anne is also survived by her brother Fred Whelan of Saint John, New Brunswick and she was the sister of the late Ella Whelan and Sister Noreen Whelan, CND.

Anne was born October 14^th, 1918 in Lowell, MA, the daughter of Frank and Winifred (Ready) Whelan. She was raised in Prince Edward Island, Canada, was a 1940 graduate of the Charlottetown Hospital School of Nursing, then relocated to Boston to work as a Registered Nurse at St. Margaret’s Hospital, where she met her future husband. Anne was the ultimate Mother and “Grammie”, a devout Catholic and a very caring and sweet woman, doing anything and everything for one and all, especially at the long-time family beach house in North Scituate. Anne played golf into her early nineties and was a member of both the Hatherly Country Club and The Wollaston Golf Club.
