David J. McKeen

David J. McKeen, retired owner of D.J. McKeen & Sons Fuel Oil, Inc., died Sunday August 29 in Naples, Florida. He was 73 years old.

Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School. Mr. McKeen served in Germany for the US Army. He lived in Dorchester and moved to Milton in 1967. Mr. McKeen established D.J. McKeen & Sons Fuel Oil Inc. in 1978, retiring in 1998.

He and his wife of fifty years traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico in their motor home. He particularly loved Alaska and traveled extensively throughout the state in 1976, 1995 and 2005.

Beloved husband of Gladys M. (Murphy) McKeen. Loving father of Patrick J. and his wife Michelle McKeen, Joseph D. and his wife Lisa McKeen, Michael F. and his wife Tracey McKeen, David W. McKeen and Matthew F. McKeen. Brother of Joseph L. McKeen, Francis S. McKeen, Paul McKeen and Mary Kelly. David is also survived by six grandchildren Connor, Madison, Justin, Molly, Luke and Delaney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Adams Street at Brook Road, Milton, Wednesday September 8 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited.

Evelyn C. Nelson

Evelyn C. Nelson, 94, of Weymouth, died Thursday August 26 at Hancock Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Quincy.

Born in raised in Medford, she lived in Dorchester for 18 years and Weymouth for 20 years. She was a graduate of Medford High School and was employed as an Executive Secretary for the United Fruit Company in Boston for 47 years.

Calvary Baptist Church in Dorchester was an important part of Evelyn’s life. She served as Sunday school treasurer and taught Junior Church and Sunday school for many years. Evelyn was a Deaconess of the church and was active in Missionary programs. She was an avid reader and enjoyed travelling in the U.S., Canada and Central America.

Daughter of the late George T. and Erminnie D. Nelson and sister of the late Phyllis M. Trefry. Beloved aunt of Carol T. Mack of Hanover and John H. Trefry III of Melbourne Beach, FL and great aunt of Caroline Kempf, John H. Trefry IV and Tyler E. Mack.

Funeral service in Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON, Saturday September 4 at 4:00 PM, preceded by a visiting hour from 3-4 PM.

Roland Francois, of Boston, died on August 28, 2010 at Boston Medical Center. Born in Haiti, Roland was an Engineer at Bank of Boston. Beloved husband of Nicole Neff. Mary C. (McLoughlin) Friese of Milton, died at Hancock Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Quincy on August 31, 2010. Born in Galway, Ireland, Mary was a homemaker. Beloved wife of the late Frederick Melvin Friese. Sister of John F. McLoughlin of Milton, Helen Gallagher of Galway, Ireland and the late Margaret Glynn, Bridget and Patrick McLoughlin. Aunt of John McLoughlin of Saugus and Mary Teresa Gaeta of Peabody and many nieces and nephews in Ireland. Mossbacher, Katherine M. “Kay” (MacDonald) of Quincy, formerly of Milton, August 26, 2010, beloved wife of the late Nicholas C. Mossbacher. Loving mother of the late Mark N. Mossbacher. Sister of Frances McLaughlin of Quincy, Phyllis Dailey of Weymouth, Virginia MacDonald of Quincy, Jean M. Breen of Quincy and the late Helen Hartigan and John E. Adrian E. Durant, 77, of Plantation, Florida, died unexpectedly on August 15, 2010 at her home. Born in Barbados, West Indies, Adrian was a homemaker. Beloved wife of the late Eric Durant. Cecilia Victoria (Chalpinsky) Brawley, 93, of Milton, died Saturday August 21, 2010. Born in Boston, Cecilia resided in Braintree before moving to Milton 26 years ago. Dedicated to her family and to her faith, Cecilia was an active volunteer at her church and for the Parent-Teacher Organization.

Beloved wife of the late Anthony T. Brawley, Sr. Mother of Anthony T. Brawley, Jr. and his wife Lou of Nashua, NH, Maureen Armstrong of Exeter, NH, Michael J. Brawley and his wife Cheryl of Elizabethtown, KY, Patricia Brawley Morise and her husband Joseph of Milton and the late Kathleen Chittenden. Sister of John Chalpin of Florida.
