James M. Southworth

James M. Southworth, a former HVAC installer, died suddenly at Quincy Medical Center Monday May 24, 2010. He was 59 years old.

Beloved son of Eunice H. Ohrt and the late James B. Southworth. Brother of  Barry Southworth, Kathleen M. Southworth-Connell, Christine Cass, William Southworth, Robert Southworth, Michael Ohrt, Thomas Ohrt, Gerry Ohrt and Judith Ohrt.

Private family funeral services were held.

Eleanor F. (McManaman) Cadigan

Eleanor F. (McManaman) Cadigan, a retired assistant clerk at Dorchester District Court, died Thursday May 27 at her home in Milton. She was 89 years old.

Beloved wife of the late William J. Cadigan Sr. Loving mother of William J. Cadigan Jr.

A private family funeral service and interment at Milton Cemetery was Thursday June 3, 2010.

James F. Keane, Sr.

James F. Keane Sr., a retired assistant vice president at Bank of Boston, died Thursday May 27 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston.

Born and raised in Dorchester, he was a graduate of Boston English High School, Class of 1956. He was a longtime employee at Bank of Boston, proudly retiring in 2004.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and coaching his son’s youth sports teams. Mr. Keane was a 37 year resident of the Town of Milton.

Beloved husband of Phyllis (O’Brien) Keane. Loving father of James F. Keane Jr. and his wife Cindy of North Easton. Cherished PA to Jimmy, Jenna and Jessica Keane. Brother of John Keane, Kevin and his wife Mary Keane, Maureen Crowe and the late Thomas Keane. Jim is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Emmanuel Dambreville

Emmanuel Dambreville, of Dorchester, died Saturday May 15 at North End Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Boston. He was 92 years old.

Beloved husband of Lunie Dambreville. Father of Guy, Yves, Herve, Serge, May, Carmelle, Jessie and the late Emmanuel Dambreville. Brother of Gerard Dambreville and the late Joseph Dambreville.

Francis E. “Frank” Kelly Jr.

Francis E. Kelly, Jr., a retired Probation Officer of Dorchester District Court, died suddenly at his home in Quincy on Thursday, May 20, 2010. He was 70 years old.

The son of the late Massachusetts Attorney General Francis E. Kelly and his wife Marion G. Kelly, Mr. Kelly was born  in Cambridge, and spent many years at the family homes in Dorchester and in Hull.

He attended St. Gregory’s Grammar School in Dorchester and then St. John’s Preparatory School, and received his undergraduate degree from Boston College.  He later earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from Suffolk University Law School.

For many years until his retirement in 2009, he was an assistant in the Probation Office of Dorchester District Court, where he was noted for his cheerful disposition and his hard work.

He is survived by his beloved companion of many years, Mary O’Donnell, also of Quincy, and by his sister Marion K. Daley, of Needham, along with three nieces and one nephew.

Alice T. (McElearney) Doyle

Alice T. (McElearney) Doyle, a resident of Milton for over 45 years,

died on Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Queen Anne Nursing Home in

Hingham after a lengthy illness.

Born in Cambridge, Alice was a graduate of Saint Mary High School in Cambridge and Laboure Nursing School in Dorchester.

Alice was a private duty nurse at several area hospitals for many years.

She later worked at Milton Healthcare Nursing Center for several years before her

retirement in 2005.

Beloved wife of the late William E. Doyle. Loving mother of Joseph E. and Michael E. Doyle both of Quincy, James M. Doyle of Dudley and Christine M. MacLean of Milton. Sister of the late Mary Mahoney, Robert, Donald, Richard and Ralph McElearney and Kathleen Lebossiere. Alice is also survived by 4 grandchildren.

Margaret C. (Laffan) Cummings

 

Margaret C. (Laffan) Cummings, age 100, a long time Milton resident

died at St. Joseph Manor in Dorchester on May 18, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Milton, she was a member of the first graduating class

from St Gregory High School.

A long-time employee of Walter Baker Chocolate factory in Milton,

she retired as a supervisor when the plant moved to Hershey, PA.

Margaret was also employed at the Tucker Pharmacy in Milton for

several years.

Wife of the late Richard H. Cummings, she was the mother of the

late Susan M. Cummings Foley and sister of the late Anna Wieners,

Mary Burley, Ellen Needham, Charles, John and James Laffan. Margaret

is survived by three nieces, Arlene Phinney, Marie McDermott, and

Margaret Delaney all of Milton and three grandchildren, Jennifer Santis

of Texas, Erin Foley of Ipswich and Michael F. Foley, Jr of Pembroke. Margaret is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Susan, James, Mia and Aidan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Hills

Church, Milton on Friday, May 21 at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited.
