Corine Byrne

Corine (Rino) Byrne, of Milton and Falmouth, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2019, surrounded by a family who cherished and adored her.
Corine was born in Spokane, Washington, in 1922 to Joseph and Madeline Rino. She grew up in Pocatello, Idaho where in 1946 she met and married Bob Byrne, a naval officer from Dorchester who was stationed there, and then bravely returned to Boston with him, leaving behind her mother, father, sister, brother and the beautiful big sky.
Corine attended St Mary’s College in South Bend Indiana. She was kind, generous and interested in every person she met. She played the piano and the accordion; she loved to travel, to dance, to play bridge, and everything Italian. In her long and purposeful life she was active in her community and had many wonderful and lasting friendships, but above all Corine was devoted to her family and found happiness and fulfillment in caring for them.
Corine was the beloved wife of the late Robert Byrne, loving mother of Carla Byrne DuBard of Milton; Lonnie (Byrne) and Ed Smith of Milton and Falmouth; Bob and Rachel Byrne of Milton and Naples, Fla; Corine (Byrne) and John Mortimer of Falmouth; Lisa (Byrne) and Steve Gilhooly of Falmouth; Tony and Sue Byrne of Buffalo, NY; and Nick and Judy Byrne of Dedham and Falmouth; she leaves twenty grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren who had the blessed good fortune of having “Nanny” in their lives and will love and remember her forever. Corine also loved and was loved by her late sister Gloria Rino Zaccardi and her late brother Joey Rino as well as many nieces nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth Church, 350 Reedsdale Road, Milton, Monday October 21 at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Monday 9 – 11 AM. Interment Milton Cemetery.

Love you mum! I ‘ll miss our morning visits! See you love corine
Cousin Corine was the daughter of my father John J. Powers’ sister Madeline. She extended generous warmth and hospitality to my late brother Daniel on his many visits to the East Coast. By all accounts, Corine was a wonderful and shining woman. I am very sorry to hear she is gone and wish to extend my condolences to all her survivors and friends.
I’ll miss you forever, my sweet Mum. I was so blessed to have you in my life. Your spirit will be with me til my last breath and then we will be with each other again. ❤️

Oh how I loved your mom, she was the essence of good taste. She had an elegance about her that I engulfed with love. She was a pure touch of life in all that she said and did. She had so many words of wisdom that I’m sure will remain with all of you. Your mom was kind and gracious a pure joy to know and I feel blessed to have known her. May her goodness be shared by all who will greet her when she enters heaven. My prayers and thoughts to all of you, and especially to my friend Lisa.
I was always touched by your mother’s grace and warmth.

Goodby loving cousin now in the arms of our loving Christ maureen in butte
We loved the two times we were with Corrine. First at her home in Milton in 1971 and several years ago at Gloria’s when she was in Pocatello visiting. She was a light filled lady, gracious and beautiful. Heaven is blessed with her presence. We offer our condolences to you the family and will pray for you that this sadness of loss will soon give way to the happy memories of her life, well lived.

Goodbye to a wonderful woman who was so admired and loved by everyone that knew her. Rest in peace🙏💗
I’ve known your lovely mother for over 60 years. I even had a nice visit with Corine 2-weeks ago and she still made me feel special like I was one of her children. I always reminded her of Tony. She always asked about my parents, Joe and Jessie. I have many fond memories of our parents together.
You were so lucky to have such a loving and beautiful mother for almost a century.
Rest in peace Corine with Bob and say “Hi” to Joe & Jessie.
Our sympathies,
Nick and Nancy Fish
I will miss seeing Corine at the nursing home during music time. She was such a loving and beautiful lady that clearly loved her adoring family that surrounded her often. How lucky the Byrne family is to have had her for their ‘mum’ all those years!
I won’t forget her.
Love,
Joanie
I hope in the days ahead you all can focus on the wonderful and crazy times you have had through the years. Your mother was an amazing lady to have raised you all. She will always be with you and will watch over you forever. I know she is with her Bob.
I’ll love you forever Nanny. Thank you.

A lovely lady who was much loved. She will be missed, but she lived well!
I will always fondly remember Corine’s warmth and kindness (and patience) when she welcomed my two siblings and me to Cape Cod fifty years ago. She took us landlubber cousins under her wing and made sure that we got to tag along and join in the fun wherever possible.
All of you undoubtedly have a lifetime of memories of Corine to treasure and help carry you through this time of grief. My family and I are very sorry for your loss.
To our dear friend Lisa,

To All the Byrne kids and grandkids…
Randy and I were driving through Milton today, when we went by the Milton Cemetery, where Mr. Byrne’s resting place is. I then googled your Mom, andsaw that she passed in October. It saddened me because we have been so out of touch, and that I wasn’t there to pay our respects. Your Mom was a beautiful person…so good and kind…just like my Mum. I want you all to know how she left a lasting mark on all of us. Now, she sits with Bob in Heaven, enjoying Sunny Cape Cod, somewhere up there. God Bless.
