Joanie – I was saddened today to hear of your passing. Although we haven’t spoken for a bit, I hope you know (as I’ve told you) how much you will always mean to our family. My mom considered you one of her very best friends; and I know she treasured your friendship like few others. When you would call our house when I was a teen, it was great fun talking with you. You shared my wedding day and my happy times, and then just a couple of years ago when we lost my mom, you were there with me again to lend support, friendship and love to me when we had a sad, tough time with my mom. Many nights on the phone, you talked me through my struggle when I couldn’t turn to others; and you did the same for your friend, Harriet. I have always been thankful for having you as our confidant and ally.
The most important thing you did for us is remain always a constant in our lives – someone we could always count on for an ear or a kind word. Mom, Joe & our whole family thought the world of you. You were modest, yet full of life and grace. You let others shine while staying in the background. I will always remember you with a full heart. I remain grateful for the joy you found in life and the joy you brought to all of us. Thanks, dear friend. May you remain eternally happy and serene forever with your dear niece, your mom, brothers, my mom, others you’ve lost & Our Lord.
Love, regards and peace to you, Joan T.
