Barbara A. Barrett
Barbara A. Barrett (Maguire) of Milton died February 24, 2017 after a brief illness. Daughter of the late Walter and Barbara Maguire. Beloved wife of the late Robert E. Barrett, Esq. Loving mother of Barbara B. Daly of Holliston, Robert Barrett and his wife Katie of Wakefield, John Barrett of Portland, Maine and Dawn M. Barrett of Milton. Sister of Regina M. Maguire of Milton, Paul Maguire of Bridgewater and the late Kevin, Martin, Thomas and Stephen Maguire. Cherished grandmother of Jane, Colin and Aidan Daly and Maura Barrett. Barbara also leaves behind dog and companion “Biscuit”.
Barbara was born and educated in Boston. She was a graduate of Saint Gregory High School in Dorchester and earned her Bachelors and Masters Degree from Boston College. She was a Special Education Teacher for the Quincy Public Schools and also worked along side her husband at his law practice Barrett & Barrett in Milton. She and her husband raised their children in their home in Milton “Bosket”. Barbara was a talented cook specializing in French Cuisine. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining, dancing and attending Broadway shows. Barbara was an active member and past president of the Milton Women’s Club. Most of all, Barbara loved her family who were the cornerstone of her life. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth’s Church, Reedsdale Road, Milton, Wednesday March 1 at 10:30am. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, East Milton, Tuesday 3-7PM. Interment in Milton Cemetery, Milton. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Barbara may be made to support innovative cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute: http:www.rundfmc.org/2017/barbarad.
