Rest in peace ..you are fondly remembered by your students!
I remember Mr. Barnett very well. His reputation preceded him and all us pre-6th graders were terrified to have him as he was often spoken of as ‘mean’. Well, I made it to 6th grade, thankfully, lol and LOVED him. He was not mean at all, seems he just required the best from his students. I very recently was telling my children that I had a teacher that was in a really great movie. They were very impressed.
He was a fabulous teacher, and the news of his death is very sad. My heart goes out to his family at this time.
Rest in Peace Mr. Barnett
Mr. Barnett was a teacher of unparalleled passion for his work, and the one that gave me my enthusiasm for history, which I have since chosen to major in. No teacher has affected me as deeply as he did. I miss you, Mr. Barnett. Rest in peace.
