Sister of Carole Murphy, Brenda Sullivan and the late Alice (Pat) Callahan, and brother Joseph Murphy. Dear friend of Mona Franklin, and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Nancy grew up in Dorchester, Saint Mark Parish. After graduating from Saint Gregory, she worked for Boston City Hall. She raised her family in Scituate and Norwell, spending summers on Cape Cod. Nancy was drawn to the ocean, crewing on sailboats off Marblehead in her early years and retiring overlooking Nantucket Sound later in life. Her love of children, books, family and large gatherings was a constant theme in her life. Her home was welcome to all. In keeping with Nancy’s legacy of giving quietly, and without fanfare, in lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation to a charity of your choice. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 17 at Saint Mary of the Nativity Church, 14 Edward Foster Road, Scituate at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited.
