Jane, I can’t make it to Cambridge this afternoon, but I am truly sorry about the loss of Terry. He was always good for scintillating conversation and I considered him my friend, even though we seldom saw each other. I enjoyed seeing the two of you in the field together, and did not realize when I saw you earlier this year that it would be the last time I would see Terry, even though it was obvious that he was not in good health. I’m glad we had that brief period when he edited Bird Observer to get to know him better. He was a good birder and a fine person, and I know you will miss him. My best wishes to you and your family. I wish I could be there to give you a hug. Jim
