My mother and Mary Jung where roomates together in Jackson Heights Queens New York in the 1950’s while working as stewardesses for Northeast Airlines during the glory days of aviation. Mary and my Mother Helen Doughty Curran reconnected in the early 1990’s and we shared many good times when Mary would come to visit us here in New York. It was my pleasure to share the sights and sounds of the greatest city in the world with Mary. We enjoyed her wonderful weekend visits and many telephone conversations that included discussion of the many social and political problems we face today as a nation. Mary Jung was a woman of great character who did much very quietly to help many. I am most grateful for the influence she has had in my life and for the friendship of sixty years she shared with my Mother. I hava always thought of airline personnel, especially flight attendants as they are now referred to, as a cut above. We were able to travel to Boston to spend Easter weekend with Mary. at the Bane House Marina bay. I will treasure the memories I was so fortunate to share with her, and will always be grateful for the assistance given to Mary by her devoted neighbors Herb and Claire Holbrook, as well as her extraordinary attorney Mr. John Reif Esq.,who also went above and beyond the call of duty in an effort to make Mary Jung’s last mile of life as comfortable as possible and for her to die with dignity.
Rest in peace Mary we love you, we will miss you but know that your are in a better place with the Angels and that your pain and suffering has ended
Stephanie Curran and your former roomate Helen Doughty Curran
I was a neighbor on Oakridge St and the paper boy at the time Mary lived there. I remember the December 1954 Northeast Airlines crash and the heroism of Mary in that incident. My condolences and prayers, Paul Kingston
We, my mother Helen Doughty Curran , Mary Jung’s former roomate in the 1950’s while stewardesses with Northeast Airlines based at New York’s LaGuardia Airport would like to acknowledge and thank Catherine Larkin and her aides Paula Maria and Christina of Celtic Homecare, Herb Holbrook Mary’s angel and devoted neighbor and her extraordinary attorney John Reis whose generosity of spirit and genuine care and concern for Mary Jung on her last mile of life’s journey while at the BaneHouse in Quincy will always be remembered by my Mom and I .
Rest in peace Mary, until we meet again. I know that you are in a better place now and that you are at that peace that surpasses all understanding. I will miss you more than words can express. You made a difference in many lives and your kindness, and thoughtfulness will be sorely missed. There are no words to express the loss that I feel to know that we will never talk or see one another again in this life. I am so thankful that we were able to spend Easter weekend with you at the BaneHouse. in Quincy and only wish I could have done more to help you.
Love you always

Mary you will always be in our thoughts and prayers. You were loved and will be forever missed by many people. My mother Jeanne (Lievi) Murphy thought of you as a sister and I will always remember my grandfather’s 90th birthday party at your house.
Thank you for the memories, rest in peace.
