Lisa Marie (Rota) Mattie
Mattie – Lisa (Rota), passed away after a long battle with ovarian cancer, at her home in Stoughton, surrounded by her family, Tuesday January 21, 2014. She was 49 years old. Raised in Milton, Lisa was a graduate of Milton High School and Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. Lisa enjoyed the simple things in life – family, friends, a wine pop, crochet hook and a good campfire. Most importantly, her good humor and infinite strength leaves us with a contagious positive outlook on life, no matter the circumstances. Lisa’s attitude shined ever so bright on everyone who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband Kevin J. Mattie and daughter Samantha M. Mattie, both of Stoughton. Beloved daughter of Robert J. and Janice M. (Ferreira) Rota of Milton. Sister of Laurie A. and her husband Brian Collins of Braintree and Michael C. and his wife Nancy J. Rota of Canton. Sister in law of Lawrence Mattie and Sue of Lakeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Stoughton, Monday January 27 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON, Sunday 3-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lisa’s memory may be made to National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, 2501 Oak Lawn Avenue, Suite 435, Dallas, TX 75219.

John and I send our deepest sympathies to Lisa’s family and friends. She was a strong and courageous woman! It is hard enough losing someone but to this horrible disease and so young is heartbreaking! To Laurie, John is thinking of you everyday! As you may know, I lost my sister to Breast Cancer almost fourteen years ago…she left behind a ten year old daughter who will be 24 this August. We just rallied around her, as we still do, and she is a wonderful young lady. We share stories and pictures with her and she smiles. Keep her memory alive by doing the same. As long as love and memory lasts, they are never truly gone. Prayers to all of you. She is surely your angel now watching over all of you from Heaven. God Bless Lisa and God bless you all!
Deepest sympathies to Lisa’s family! May her strength and courage find it’s way into your hearts and help you through this difficult time. God bless Lisa and God bless her family. She is surely an Angel in Heaven, watching over you all, in that beautiful peaceful place!
Words of comfort are hard to express at such a sorrowful time. But I hope that Lisa’s complete love and devotion she had for her family, her tremendous courage and her beautiful smile will help comfort you all in the hours and days ahead. Memories last forever. All our love, Cousin Anne Marie and family

Dear Kevin and Samantha: so sorry for your loss.
Lisa was the kindest, friendlist person to us when we moved into your neighborhood years ago and Samantha you were like a big sister to Devon when she was young. Kindness must run in the family!
We still have the items she crocheted for us and we will think fondly of her when we look at them.
May the sorrow you feel in your heart fade away by the love that she sends you from heaven.
Our deepest sympathies,
Jim, Mandy, Devon and Dillon Araya
