Margaret C. MacPherson

MacPherson_MargaretMargaret Christine MacPherson, nee MacLeod, was born in The Head of Montague, Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1915. She worked her parents’ farm, without electricity or running water, alone until her parents passed away. She then bravely moved to the mainland and worked in Pictou, Nova Scotia. From there she moved to the big city of Toronto where she worked as a housekeeper and homecare worker. A few years later she moved to Milton, Massachusetts. There she worked as a cook on an estate. Raising her two children and being the sole provider, she worked six days a week cleaning houses. On Sundays, she always went to church, baked and visited people in the hospital or in nursing homes. She led a difficult life, but always had a smile on her face and a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed, but remembered by all who knew her.

Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Willard D. MacPherson. Devoted mother of Barrie W. MacLeod of Plympton and Joyce A.M. Ho of Cambridge.  Grandmother of Corey W. MacLeod of ME, Bonnie G.
