Francis Michael Norton
66, of Dorchester died suddenly Tuesday, May 12, 2009.
Born in Boston, on February 18, 1943, he was the son of Harriett R. (Maxwell) Norton and the late Frank Michael Norton. Mr. Norton graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School, Class of 1961. He was a member of the United States Army National Guard from 1961-1964. Mr. Norton was Assistant Clerk Magistrate, Suffolk County Superior Court for forty years, retiring in 2007.
A lifelong resident of Dorchester, Mr. Norton enjoyed his neighborhood and his Irish heritage. He was a history buff and had a very dry sense of humor.
Besides his mother he is survived by a sister, Joan E. Mullally and her husband Anthony of South Weymouth, a brother Robert J. Norton of Bellingham, WA and also survived by several nieces, nephews and his longtime companion Roseleen Weir and her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Gregory Church, Dorchester, Monday, May 18 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Sunday 4-8 PM. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery. Braintree.
