a retired Boston Police Deputy Superintendent and Marine Corps veteran, died Tuesday May 26.

Beloved husband of Judith (Green) O’Rourke. Loving father of Gerard T. O’Rourke Jr. and his wife Mary Ann of Braintree, Lauren Reynolds and her husband Sander of Wayland and Leanne Carlson and her husband Russ of Hingham. He is also survived by seven grandchildren. Brother of the late William “Tex” O’Rourke, Donald O’Rourke and Brian O’Rourke. He is also survived by his step-son Seth Uhlin and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Gate of Heaven Church, 615 East Forth Street, South Boston, Monday June 1 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON, Sunday 4-8 PM. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
