Kathleen A. "Kay" (Quinlan) Bird

85, of Milton, formerly of Dorchester, died on July 3, 2009.

Born in Boston, Kay was a graduate of Boston Girls High School. She was an active parishioner at Saint Gregory’s Church in Dorchester and Saint Agatha’s Church in Milton. Kay was also active as a volunteer at the Knights of Columbus, Dorchester, Council 180, and at an orphanage in Boston.

Kay was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and was a longtime season ticket holder. She would oftentimes watch and listen to away games as she summered in Green Harbor, Marshfield.

Kay was also employed in the kitchen at Boston College High School for over 20 years.

Beloved wife of the late Edwin W. Bird. Loving mother of Cheryl A. Kamataris of East Falmouth and the late Karen M. Brennan. Sister of Mary Sullivan of Milton and the late James Quinlan, Helen Flavin, Patricia Shields and William Quinlan. Grandmother of Alexandra and Audrey Kamataris and Calie and Stephen Brennan. Also survived by her great-grandson, Dante, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Milton on Thursday, July 9 at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave. MILTON, Wednesday, 4-8PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.
