Galen E. "Wiff" Wifholm

a retired salesman, died Thursday July 8 at Good Samaritan Medical Center, West Palm Beach, FL. He was 70 years old.

Born and raised in Milton, he was active in many civic, religious and fraternal organizations, including being elected a Town Meeting Member for 28 consecutive years. He was a co-founder and vice-president of Housing Opportunities for Milton Elderly (HOME, Inc). A past-president of Milton Rotary and Paul Harris Fellow, he was active in the Masons, traveling mainly in the York Rite and appended bodies. Mr. Wifholm was a past commander of the Quincy Commandery and was a Shriner of the Aleppo Temple. He was also a member of the American Legion, International Order of Vikings and National Board of Realtors.

He was owner and president of Wiffco Automotive and worked with Central Automotive Warehouse, traveling Massachusetts and Northern New England selling wholesale automotive parts to auto parts stores. Galen was an accomplished trumpet player, enjoyed good music, golf, gardening, all sports and especially his granddaughters, Katie and Abbey.

He was a resident of Wellington, FL, formerly of Milton and Plymouth. Mr. Wifholm had served as a US Army military policeman during the Vietnam era.

Beloved husband of 45 years to Nancy (Callen) Wifholm. Loving father of Galen Wifholm Jr. and Kristen Tara Kerl and her husband Doug and their children Katherine and Abigail Kerl, all of FL. Survived by a cousin who was more like a brother, M. Henry Wifholm of Hollis NH, brother-in-law of Paula Hobart of FL and Kevin and Susan Callen of Hingham and uncle of Dawn Wight, Glenn Wight, Kristina Callen and Paul Callen.

Funeral service in Faith Lutheran Church, 201 Granite St. Quincy, Monday July 13 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON, Sunday 4-7 PM. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
