Virginia L. (McLaughlin) Flaherty
Virginia L. (McLaughlin) Flaherty, of Kingston, formerly of Milton, died on November 4, 2011.
Born and raised in South Boston, Mrs. Flaherty graduated from South Boston High School in 1946. She and her husband were married at Saint Brigid Church in South Boston in 1953. They lived in Dorchester prior to their move to Milton in 1963.
Mrs. Flaherty was a decorative painter and was a member of H.S.E.A.D, The Historical Society of Early American Decorators (Old Colony Chapter). She displayed her artistic talents in painting and stenciling work inside the front foyer of Saint Agatha Church in Milton, where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Mrs. Flaherty also worked as a Sales Associate for ten years at Lechmere.
She was the beloved wife of William J. Flaherty. Loving mother of Kathleen A. Flaherty of Milton, Kevin T. Flaherty of Milton, Maureen Savoie of Abington, Eileen Mullaney of Braintree, Mark T. Flaherty of Pleasanton, CA, Stephen W. Flaherty of Abington, Brian Flaherty of Braintree, Christopher P. Flaherty of Franklin and Sean M. Flaherty of Canton. Sister of Mary Sylvester of South Boston, Thomas F. McLaughlin of Delaware, Elizabeth Santry of Orleans and Louise Donahue of North Miami Beach, FL. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Milton on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 10:30AM. Visiting hours at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave. MILTON, Tuesday 3-8PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.
