Sally Berry
Sally (Lima) Berry died at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Monday September 12, 2011. Sally was born to the late Anthony Lima and Elvira Montrond in Boston, Massachusetts. She was a life-long resident of Boston’s South End and attended the Abraham Lincoln School, now known as Boston High School. Sally was a single parent and raised a family of three children. Later on in life when her children were grown, she went to work for City Missionary where she provided homecare services for the elderly. There was never a day that went by that you would not see her walking down the street with grocery bags in hand. Sally missed taking care of her children and loved children so much that at one point in her life she became a Girl Scout leader. The children loved her and Sally treated these children as if they were her own. She would spend personal time with them, taking them downtown shopping or to visit her Mother. Sally has gone on to join her son Mark Lima, and her brothers Lou and Joseph Lima. She leaves behind, to cherish her memories one daughter Sandra Berry, one son Richard Berry and her loving siblings; Anthony Lima, Dolores Lima, Barbara Barrows and Theresa Lima. Sally will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in The Cathedral of the Holy Cross, 1400 Washington Street, Boston, Monday September 19 at 10:00 AM. Visitation begins at 9:00 AM at the church. Interment follows at Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

Ma, I love you and always will. May you finally find comfort now that you are in God’s hands. —
Ma,
You were a great Mother to us.
You took care of us when we were sick.
You fed us, housed us, clothed us, and nurtured us.
You always made sure we had what we needed and even what we wanted.
You worried about us constantly.
You loved us unconditionally.
You gave us moral guidance.
You are responsible for all our successes.
You created treasured memories.
You left a void in our hearts that will never be refilled.
Love you always.
