Henry Alexander

Henry Alexander passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020.

He was born in Boston, MA on July 11, 1959 to Henry L. Alexander and the late Mildred T. Alexander of Henderson, N.C. He was the second oldest child of six children.

Henry grew up in Boston, MA where he attended the Washington Irving Middle school and later graduated from English High School. During his childhood years, he spent a lot of time with his first cousins who called him “Hank”. He loved to go to Spinelli’s sub shop to eat crab meat sandwiches. He also, attended the Boys and Girls club on Warren Street where he was an excellent pool and basketball player. As an adult, he worked numerous jobs around the Boston area. His last job was at the Christian Science Center, where he did book binding. He loved to watch basketball, kung-fu movies, play cards, dominoes and united the family through cookouts each summer. He was a strong family man with a great personality. He was always smiling, and his laughter can be heard everywhere he went. He was a dedicated father, son, uncle, nephew, and cousin. Henry had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back if it was needed.

Henry departed this life on Saturday, November 21, 2020. He was survived by his father Henry L. Alexander, His brother Sidney Alexander “Petey”, his son Sheldon Dixon, his daughters Melissa West and Sheron Dixon, his grandchildren Aaliyah & Aamylia West, Zaniya, Adrian and Zah’Ryi Dixon. He joins his mother Mildred T. Alexander, his sisters Stephanie Agho, Sheila and Denise Alexander, his brother Michael Young-Alexander and niece Shakira A. Alexander in the Kingdom of heaven. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, on Saturday, December 12, from 1:30-3:00pm. Funeral Service and interment are private.
