Walter M. Fabian
Walter M. Fabian, 101, longtime Quincy resident died of complications from COVID, January 3, 2021.
Born in Rochester NY, he grew up in Bellingham and was one of eight children, graduating from Milford High. After returning home from Normandy, France as a World War II Veteran he went to work for The Gillette Co. where he spent his entire career. After his son Walter was severely injured during the Vietnam War, he dedicated his life to caring for him.
Beloved husband of 57 years of the late Julia (Joyce) Fabian. Loving father of Judy DeSantis and her husband Ray of Sterling and the late Walter Fabian, Jr. Grandfather of Raymond and his wife Amanda, Jennifer Burns and her husband Philip, Amy DeSantis, Mark DeSantis and his fiancé Yannick Morgan and great grandfather of Keira and Nolan DeSantis, Holden, Annabel Lee and Sawyer Burns. Also survived by his sister Helen Rossborough. Predeceased by his brothers John Fabian, Stanley Fabian, Fred Fabian and Chester Purdy and sisters Josephine Foley and Irene Erato.
Walter was able to remain in his home until his death because of the care of his two dedicated caregivers, Justine Blackwell and Alicia Gonzelez and the assistance of the staff from the VA Home Based Primary Care medical team.
Memorial service to honor him will take place at a later date.
