Gladys (Krieger) Hampton, age 99, of Milton, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, October 21, 2019.

Born in Paterson, New Jersey to the late Max and Helen (Singer) Krieger, Gladys grew up in Hackensack, New Jersey .

She attended Hackensack High School and graduated with the class of 1936. Gladys furthered her education at Syracuse University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree. She then enrolled in Columbia University where she earned her Master’s degree in Child Psychology. Throughout her life she pursued her love of painting and the arts.

At the age of 21 she married Roy Hampton. They celebrated 62 years of marriage before Roy passed in 2003. They thoroughly enjoyed golf and traveling together.

Gladys and Roy raised their three sons in Hackensack and Ramsey, New Jersey.

She will be remembered for her generous heart, her strong passion for life, her joy in making new friends and her great sense of humor.

Beloved wife of the late H. Roy Hampton. Loving mother of Mark and his wife Doris (Jacobsohn) Hampton of Canterbury, NH, Bruce and his wife Susan (Berkowitz) Hampton of Jamaica Plain and the late Eric Hampton. Cherished grandmother of Rebecca, Leah, Myriah and Shannah Hampton.  Great-grandmother of Vivian “Vivi”, Asher and Mia. Sister of the late Murray Krieger and Evan Krieger.
