Ida Lois Johnson

Ida Johnson, 83, of Boston, passed away on June 21, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
If you know us, then you probably know this woman. Loving sister, aunt, cousin, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother … you were always greeted with a smile & warm hug and never went hungry because you always had a seat at her dinner table.
Born in 1935 she used to share countless stories of growing up Jim Crow, learning to navigate life according to rules/conditions we couldn’t even dream of. Expressing her feelings of finding hope in countless leaders Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy, Malcolm X, Bobby Kennedy just to feel the heartbreak and disappointment of seeing all those lights prematurely extinguished. She saw a lot in her nearly 84 years, everything from a man walking on the moon to the election of the first African American US President. She was pure Class with a little bit of Sass and a whole bunch of Love.
Born and raised in Tennessee to the late Leander and Katie (Boddie) Wiggins. Beloved mother of Don Johnson, Phyllis Johnson-Da Rocha, Judith Johnson, Katherine Blicker and Lori Mitchell. Loving grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Tuesday, June 25th from 4-8 PM. Family and friends invited. Interment Bethel Cemetery in Henning, Tennessee at a later date.
