I often harken back to those great times with glee remembering my good friend Kevin Boyd aka K.B. whom I will miss seeing in the square at Brothers restaurant and other familiar haunts that we frequented.
I was honored and blessed to be friends you Kevin Boyd Sr.
I Love You
God bless your family.
Yo Troy not sure if I know you? Kevin was a long time friend of mine. I believe he was the cousin of Eddie Boyd from fair lawn estates who was one of my best friends. Eddie taught me how to DJ as well as Earl Fisher(DJ KOOK) from rockdale road. Your really bringing back some old school memories to me of the early hip hop stuff I was introduced to as a white dude working in mattapan in a crucial time in the importance of hip hop music. I do not live there anymore but I still have so many friends that I still have lots of love for and that I still keep in touch with. You might know me from Mattapan Liquors maybe you don’t. Maybe you remember KOOK jamming in mattapan electrics parking lot on a Sunday afternoon and by the time he set up there were a few people hanging around and the next thing you know tons of people jamming. Sorry for babbling but those were the most awesome days of my life and they will always stay with me. Sorry for venting but Kevin was always a special person to me and I will never forget him. FOREVER REST IN PEACE KEVIN J. KB BOYD. And thank you Troy for sparking so many memories. R.I.P. my brother. Sincerely Jeffrey Perkins (MYTE WHITEY)
First, my condolences to Cheryl and the entire family. As I read others, I wonder if my memories are too small to mention, but they’re not. My memories of Kevin are so big and meaningful to me. Kevin who I’ve known since a teen was always so kind, funny and respectful to me. I remember when he did the deliveries for the pizza shop around our way. We would chat a bit when I walked by and he would always ask to hold my baby son. Fast forward to about 30 years later when my Mom passed in 2017, Kevin reached out to me but he didn’t just reach out, he really wanted to know if I was OK. Kevin was a solid, good, human being. He was a true good friend. I’m going to miss knowing that I had a true friend in him. I’m going to miss Kevin for the rest of my life.
Respectfully,
Stephani
