Leslie Sawyer Randall
Leslie S. Randall, long time resident of Milton, formerly of Braintree, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 16, 2019.
She was the beloved wife of Stephen D. Randall (deceased), and loving sister of Kathy Lanphere of South Bend, Indiana. Leslie was the devoted mother of Stephanie Randall, of Braintree, Richard Randall and his wife Marianne, of Walpole, and Sandra Dunnington and her husband George, of Milton. She is survived by six grandchildren; Morgan and Rachel Randall, Jason and Alicia Burgess, Samuel and Annabel Dunnington, and two grand dogs.
Leslie was a retired special needs paraprofessional for the Milton Public Schools. For many years she was a dedicated, weekly volunteer for the Milton Food Pantry. She was an active participant at the Milton Council on Aging. Giving to others was a central theme to her life right up to the end as an organ donor.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting and was an avid reader. She grew up on the water and had a love for boating. She and her husband were active members of South Shore Yacht Club for many years, until trading their boat for a camping fifth wheel trailer and traveling around the country. They enjoyed many memorable trips in their 50 years of marriage. Family was everything to Leslie. Nothing gave her greater joy than her grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday February 23, 2019 from 2:00-4:00pm in the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE. Service will follow in the funeral home at 4:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Leslie’s name may be made to the Milton Community Food Pantry, ℅ Parkway United Methodist Church, 158 Blue Hills Parkway Milton, MA 02186 or to The Bonnie M. Conroy Memorial Fund , 141 Bromfield Street Quincy, MA 02170.

We are deeply saddened to learn of Leslie’s passing and send our deepest sympathy to all her family. Granddaughter Morgan mentioned how she would miss Leslie’s warm welcome, apron and all at Thanksgiving and that is certainly an image that we will never forgot as well. Being welcomed into the Randall home was like a scene out of a Norman Rockwell painting….the home warm and inviting, lots of family stuff and holiday decorations, the smell of Thanksgiving dinner cooking in the kitchen….but more importantly, Leslie welcoming everyone with the apron on and a necklace of popcorn strung on thread by the grandkids! It was just so genuine and on-point….she was reveling in the moment and the sound of kids laughing, running and enjoying being in her home. We are sure she will be missed but never forgotten! With regards to all, David and Penny Hurwitz
Rick, Marianne, and family, I was so sorry to hear about your recent loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I am a member of the knitting group at the Council on Aging and have enjoyed knowing Leslie for some time now. She was always so full of life and happy things to share that news of her death has been hard for me to accept. We will miss her so much and I am so glad to have known her. She gave me a ride recently and offered to help out when I had a need. Marion Nelson
I’m so sad to hear the news of Leslie’s passing. Her passing is not only a huge loss for her family and friends, but for our community as well. I only recently had the privilege and honor of meeting and working beside Leslie at the food pantry, but I knew the second I met her that she had a heart of gold! She was so welcoming and friendly and always smiling and I’m sure she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Sending big hugs and healing prayers to her family during this most difficult time. I’m sure she is soaring with the angels above. Rest in Peace Leslie.
My deepest condolences,

I met Leslie only about one year ago, when my late husband and I began to volunteer at the Milton Food Pantry. She was so helpful, friendly and welcoming to us newcomers. I have continued to volunteer since my husband’s death last spring, and always looked forward to seeing and chatting with Leslie there. She was a ray of sunshine. I will miss her on Saturdays, and very much wish I had gotten to know her sooner.
