Leo J. Morrissey
Leo J. Morrissey, of Milton, Thursday, January 17, 2019.
Born in Dorchester, Leo Morrissey was a graduate of Boston College High School, an alumnus of Boston College. An executive with Hastings-Tapley Insurance, Cambridge, Mr. Morrissey was an active alum of Boston College, a long-time season ticket holder for its football, basketball and hockey teams. A member of the BC Gridiron Club, Mr. Morrissey enjoyed stopping opposing teams’ fans and striking up impromptu conversations.
A life-long member of the Roman Catholic Church, Mr. Morrissey undertook and led Cursillo retreats, volunteered at My Brother’s Keeper, in Easton, MA, and with friends and family started Por Christo, a charity delivering medical services to Ecuador.
A self-identified parrot-head, Mr. Morrissey chased sea views and warm weather, in Orleans, MA, and on St. John, USVI, sharing both places with as many friends and family as he could, all at the same time. An inveterate teller of tall tales, Mr. Morrissey was once instructed, in his ancestral Ireland, never to let the truth get in the way of a good story, advice he took seriously and to comic effect.
Smitten and loving husband to the late Margaret (“Peg”) Morrissey, his “girlfriend of sixty years.” Loving father of Leo J. “Lee” Morrissey, Jr., of Clemson, SC, Daniel J. Morrissey of Ashburnham, MA, and Michelle M. Morrissey of Brookline. Grandfather of Declan Morrissey, Owen Morrissey, Mairead Morrissey, Sonali Morrissey-Dhekne and Kieran Morrissey-Dhekne. Brother of the late James W. Morrissey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Adams Street at Brook Road, Milton, 10:30, Wednesday, January 23. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Tuesday 5-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Peg and Leo’s memory may be made to My Brother’s Keeper, P.O. Box 338, Easton, MA 02356.

Dear Danny:
Just saw the news about your Dad this morning. So sorry to hear it. I remember your parents well from our St. Agatha days and your Dad was a warm, funny guy who always had time to chat with us. Just wanted to pass on my respects. So sorry for your loss.

I met your parents because of Cursillo.
Both of them were,as James 1-22,states..Doers of the Word, not Hearers only. The lives of many, near and far, have been blessed by their various involvements.
I pray that you hold onto your Faith,Family,Friends, Fond memories as well as the knowledge of eternal life with the Lord!
Sincerely, Judy Murray
Rest In Peace,Leo, as you join Peg in eternal life. We enjoyed many trips with you and Peg and other ‘57 classmates. Sincerely, Jim and Jane Daly
