Elizabeth M. (Shields) of Quincy died on July 11, 2018.
Beloved wife of the late James X. Shea. Loving mother of Kathleen Carroll and her husband William of Duxbury, James X. Shea, Jr. and his wife Debra of Norwell, Neil Shea and his wife Lorraine of Marshfield and Carolyn Coyne and her husband Kevin of Marshfield. Sister of Joseph Shields and his wife Ruth of Walpole, John Shields and his wife Martha of Harwich, Kathleen Lovett and her husband William of Milton and the late William Shields. Sister in law of Joan Shields of Woburn. Cherished grandmother of Elizabeth, William and Brendan Carroll, Jimmy and Madison Shea, Brandon, Patrick, Neil and Rachael Shea and Sarah and Caity Coyne.
Elizabeth was born and raised in Dorchester and later settled with her husband in Quincy. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her friends and family; especially her grandchildren who were the cornerstone of her life. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 16, 2018 in St. Agatha Church, East Milton at 10:30am. Family and friends invited. Visiting hours will be Sunday July 15, 2018 in the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON, FROM 2:00-6:00pm. Interment in Milton Cemetery, Milton.

How sad we are to lose our special Betty, but blessed that she is now at peace. A strong, courageous, beautiful friend for many years who was so loved and will be sorely missed. My sincere condolences to her wonderful family that truly were the “cornerstone of her life.”
